While I do think its definitely a cash grab, nobody is forcing you to buy it. It takes like 2-3 hours of work at a reasonable middle class job to cover the cost, and if you think how much time you've spent on AH activities over the years, you're actually going to get a lot of gametime you no longer have to waste on AH runs. Little by little, it adds up over time.
We do not know how many people bought tokens to buy the original at 5mil gold. This one is STILL gold valued (6 tokens), WITH the option to buy it flat out for cash. The fact that it has NOTHING that would be of real value to someone who doesn't play the auction house, other than a mailbox (which you can get toys for), kinda means it's FOR the AH traders in particular. For the old 5mil version, mostly traders saw the value, and spent the 5mil gold (via trades or tokens). So to me (trader), it was a 1.2mil gold mount, and NOT the 5mil version, that has another valuable thing for my trading, a mailbox. No matter the price of a forklift, I won't buy one, because it's of little to no use to me, and would be most purely only a cost. Even if said new forklift was $90 :)
