This song is in my opinon, one of tylers best because in context of the album, he falls inlove with this guy but the guy that tyler likes, is dating a female. So when tyler sings "I really hope to god she got good taste" tyler means that she better have better taste/love than tyler and in the part where he says "The bandaid is falling off now and now im scarred for life"
tyler tried to play it off to the guy he likes as if he didnt care basically meaning he put a bandaid on it and kept going but it left a scar on tylers love life which why in the end verses it says "I dont think i ever want to fall in love again"
in the context of the album this song would make much more sense

So the context to all of this is there was a guy that he was with, but the guy hid his sexuality and left Tyler for a girl. In the song, it kind of says she could never be better than me, and the love is gone.

But literally, the whole album is like a story about him falling in love and stuff. It’s really cool whenever you go deeper into it.
This song specifically is talking about how he left the relationship, and he knows that it’s better for him, but he’s still heartbroken and is trying to pretend he’s proud of the decision. That’s why the whole song is so upbeat. He’s basically forcing a smile on his face.
