I don't think I do enough of a warm up. I tend to suffer from ITB syndrome a fair amount, especially if I run at a slower pace. I think I need to do more strength and conditioning. Have you evert suffered from this? You're doing great in your training!
Thank you! I've not experienced any ITB issues but I've had problems with both my knees at different times and for different things. I also have problems with the arch of my foot, again, both of them which is frustrating. I have one normal and flat foot so it's really hard for me to find shoes that work well for both feet. I can understand one foot hurting because it's either not getting enough support or there's too much support (depending on what shoes I wear), but no, both randomly hurt at different times. I still believe warming up properly will help, but unfortunately I don't usually have all the time I need in the day to do things right sometimes.
Good luck in your training. I am also doing my first marathon in April, so I am just coming to the end of week 3. It's going to be tough, but I feel fortunate that I am doing summer training 🥵🥵
Hope the training is going well. Which Marathon are you running as your first? I'm in my third week of training too. All the best of luck 💪
I am doing Manchester!@@YuennyLam
Me too!!! 😁
Good luck. I've started training for my marathon in April too
Thank you. Which one are you running in April? Best of luck to you too!
If i have harder or faster sessions, I always have the first ~15 minutes at a more relaxed pace. I would never jump right into a session. But, I don't really have an intentional warm up and the only thing I'd ever do before a run is maybe some foam rolling or a few dynamic movements. But yeah, I would never rip 400m repeats right off without some easy miles to get moving. ~many marathons and ultras.
Yeah, I shouldn't go straight into a hard workout. Generally, I at least do dynamic stretches before a run. I never feel like I have enough time to add proper warm up before a workout though. I need to get better at that. Something else has to give to make time or I'll end up regretting it in the future. Thanks for sharing 😊
I don’t do much of a warm up and I’ve been running 11 years and have done 13 marathons and a bunch of other races
Oh that's interesting. Sometimes I feel like I warm up properly but everything still hurts and I feel stiff. Other times I just head out on a run and I'm fine, so maybe the warm-up isn't the issue with me 🤔 Thanks for sharing!
How have you found sunshine 😮 I havent seen that for months 😂😂
🤣🤣 Well... I prayed day and night for the rain to stop. Just got SO fed up with it and everyday I was saying 'please stop, please please please please please........' 😄
