It's a silicone mask. And yes Tobias writes together with other. Not because he needs to just because he likes it and he also thinks the songs get better with input from another person. Prequelle is about the black plague. Therefore the song Rats. Do Faith next 🤘
Btw, the ”evil horse” thing… remember Prequelle is a concept album built around the black plague. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are figures in the Christian religion, first appearing in Revelation. The fourth and final horse is pale, and upon it rides Death.
You could also see it as the first horse, the white one. Under another interpretation, the first Horseman is called Pestilence, and is associated with infectious disease and plague.
There have been several lineup changes, however right now Tobias has been touring with the same people since 2018, he kinda hinted that he's found his perfect match of musicians, in 2022 a new member joined, Ghost now having as many live band members as Slipknot!
We appreciate your genuine reactions! I started another reactor's video just yesterday and he started by saying "this is my favorite album"- turned it off! What we like to see is people falling in love with the things that we love. Some like to argue with those who don't love what we love, but I also like to hear others' opinions on things even if they don't agree. If you get to the point where you follow Ghost's tour trying to see them everywhere (or I do!) I might see you and say hello!
I love love LOVE explaining Ghost to people (even though you've probably already heard of all of this before) All of the different "Papas" (the lead singers) are one person, Tobias Forge, wearing different masks to portray different characters throughout the bands albums/eras. They are referred to as Papa Emeritus I, II, III, and IV. Papa Emeritus IV is the only Papa not from the bloodline, hence why he started as Cardinal Copia (who we see in this music video). The Ghouls/Ghoulettes (female Ghouls) are instrumentalists and/or backing vocalists. The people under the masks stay anonymous for the most part, though some of their identities have been revealed. The Ghouls change over time as the members leave and join the band. Their costumes also change throughout the eras, as I'm sure you've noticed by the different costumes. Every album has a different theme. The one this song is from is called "Prequelle," which is themed around the Black Plague. All the albums are themed around the Anti-Christ. The band itself is not genuinely satanic, though Tobias Forge, I believe, is, though I may be wrong. In an interview, Tobias Forge said that when creating the image for the band Ghost, he wanted to combine the elements of metal music and a horror show. The scariest thing he could think of was Satan and the devil, therefore creating Ghost, the theatrical rock band with satanic overtones. There's much more detail I could go into, but this is sort of a basic general overview of the band. If you want to know more, there's plenty of videos and articles out there that can explain it more. Thank you to whoever took the time to read all this! If anyone has any questions, I'm more than happy to answer the best I can, and I hope that any newer fans have gained a bit more knowledge and clarity on the subject of Ghost.
Also have heard of the Band Kamelot? If not you should take a listen to them, I have a feeling you might enjoy... if you ever... start with my sacrimony
I love the Ghost reactions, I've been learning a bunch of their songs on guitar they're incredibly fun and simple!! especially the outro of rats that you liked it's soooo addictive!! would be awesome to see you playing some of their music on your guitar ;D
I agree with you on the Ghouls masks, I love these ones the most. I believe in the beginning Tobias did it all and just hired a band to tour with. I believe he has someone now that he works with for the writing of the songs. I love how unique they are, and the fact you can't really put them in one genre. He Is is an interesting song, and if you react to it I strongly suggest you watch the official music Video! I haven't heard a song I haven't liked yet!
OK so much to talk about here the darker part at the end is actually just a heavy version of the intro song (Spoksonat) to the song “He Is”. every time you see the singer from ghost it’s always a mask whether it’s a papa or an old man. Tobias writes most things himself but he does have a couple other ghouls that have credits in songs probably most famous of which is Martin Persner a.k.a. Omega (MCC). future songs to check out obviously he is which is a softer song as for heavier songs do you want to check out faith and from the pinnacle to the pit. I still recommend the live session called the Deezer session it’s three songs and presents a live yet studio feel to the songs and they’re all great.
I first started listening to them in 2012, Year Zero was the first song I listened to. It was love at first listen. Saw them in San Antonio in 2015 and got to meet Tobias and the band. This was back when it wasn't clear who Papa was but people were starting to figure it out.
Had the same opinion as you with the outro. Wish it was longer but it also makes me listen the whole song again so its kinda genius. I recommend reacting to ghost - watcher in the sky
In this music video, the shots of Copia just lipsyncing and the ghouls playing instruments are all Tobias. The dancing Copia is a hired dancer in the mask.
I’ve heard a couple of reaction channels independently say that Tobias Forges voice reminds them of Weird Al Yankovics. Not in a mean or bad way, just that it does.
Hell yeah, another Ghost reaction! I've been waiting for it! Rats is the first Ghost song I ever heard and is still one of my favorites. The next song on the album is heavier than Rats (which makes sense with the outro of Rats), called Faith. If you want to check out his sound live, he did a cover of Sympathy For The Devil with the Hellacopters. His growl at the end is fantastic and I wish he would do it more often. Ghost live is amazing - I've been to two Rituals and can't wait for my next! Oh, also, you should still check out Nothing More. Turn It Up Like (Stand In The Fire), This Is The Time (Ballist), and Christ Copyright are all really good.
For the last 2 albums (I believe), many of the Nameless Ghouls (who are no-longer so nameless, given they have Alchemical Names now) have been the same people...for the most part. This was because of legal issues that arose during "Ghost B.C.", and the original Nameless Ghouls suing Tobias over hiring different people to tour. However, Prequele and Impera both seem to have the same recurring Nameless Ghouls in both Live Shows and Album/Music Videos... The easiest to spot are Sodo, Aether, Mountain, and Cumulus... they have distinct "body shapes" that fans can identify them; but the others are there too. And yes, Cumulus and Cirrus are the Keyboarding Ghoulettes, and they are amazing! EDIT: Sorry, I completely forget to mention the reason I wanted to comment in the first place! ..."Rats" is a commentary on Twitter and Social Media, corrupting and destroying lives by spreading "disease" (misinformation) and causing harm to society...like the Black Plague!
yea Tobias said he writes the albums and then sends them to the members and then they rehearse it, makes it even more impressive, hes incredibly talented, he reminds me of Freddy mercury, so damn strong as a front man too
Ghost actually has done quite a few covers. They covered anter the sandman by metallic and here comes the sun by the Beatles which are the 2 most notable covers they did.
Faith is actually maybe their "hardest" song. But ghost doesn't really go very heavy. But Tobias forge was in a band before ghost that was specifically death metal, so the music from when he was with that band was very heavy.
More than darker, Rats is heavier. For darker stuff you must dig in the previous albums. Songs like Year Zero, Mummy Dust, Con Clavi Con Dio and Ritual are pretty darker than Rats. Btw, I'm glad you enjoyed Rats, is one of my favs!
Good rule of thumb for this video, if he's dancing, that's not Tobias. If he's not moving a lot, that's Tobias. In the dancer double the mask doesn't fit quite right. He did an interview where someone asked about him dancing and he basically said the opposite of what I said about who was who, then mugged for the camera.
Ghost is not technically a band... Tobias has studio musicians and concert musicians. If not mistaken, Tobias writes must of the stuff, it is like his project.
Correct. He's co-written with a bunch of people over the years but, out of the earlier stuff, Martin Persner, who was "Omega" back in the day, probably had the most input.
It's a silicone mask. And yes Tobias writes together with other. Not because he needs to just because he likes it and he also thinks the songs get better with input from another person. Prequelle is about the black plague. Therefore the song Rats. Do Faith next 🤘

If you want heavier, Con Clavi Con Dio, Ritual, Prime Mover, Mummy Dust, From the Pinnacle to the Pit, Absolution, and Faith.

Heavier than Rats... Ghost - faith from the same album.
Also have heard of the Band Kamelot?

Yes, Faith! Love it!

Check out "From The Pinnacle To The Pit" and "He is", two of my favoriter, showing the scope of ghost's genious

I love how you say some "I never thought I'd see..." in each and every Ghost video haha
Kaisarion is also a really good one! Rats used to be their concert opener but now kaisarion is. Such a good band!!
"Evil horse." LOL
I first started listening to them in 2012, Year Zero was the first song I listened to. It was love at first listen. Saw them in San Antonio in 2015 and got to meet Tobias and the band. This was back when it wasn't clear who Papa was but people were starting to figure it out.
Hell yea, Im sorta in the same boat…I just posted my guitar cover of Year Zero
Has a 70s dark metal sound to it
Had the same opinion as you with the outro. Wish it was longer but it also makes me listen the whole song again so its kinda genius. I recommend reacting to ghost - watcher in the sky
Yes more Ghost! ❤❤❤❤ Tobias always wears a mask 🥰
In this music video, the shots of Copia just lipsyncing and the ghouls playing instruments are all Tobias. The dancing Copia is a hired dancer in the mask.
Man you gotta get to the next ritual! I’m going to my 3rd soon and they are such a blast! You’ll love it!
The cool outro riff is also used in the opening track on the album that leads into Rats.
I’ve heard a couple of reaction channels independently say that Tobias Forges voice reminds them of Weird Al Yankovics. Not in a mean or bad way, just that it does.
holy shit i can’t unhear it

They don't have a video for it but you got to listen to their song called "twenties" I think you'd like it.

TX for reacting to Ghost 👻 Another awesome video 👌
yea Tobias said he writes the albums and then sends them to the members and then they rehearse it, makes it even more impressive, hes incredibly talented, he reminds me of Freddy mercury, so damn strong as a front man too
Looking forward to your next Ghost reaction! 😊👍🏻
This is such a fun Video❤
😈🤘
You should check out Dance Macabre next! Love everything from Ghost!!
Its deff on the list
Ghost actually has done quite a few covers. They covered anter the sandman by metallic and here comes the sun by the Beatles which are the 2 most notable covers they did.
Let's not forget the iconic Roky Erickson track "If You Have Ghosts", produced by David Grohl
ITS a sin pet shop boys too
"Bible" and "Avalanche" top my list of covers by this awsome band!
Faith is actually maybe their "hardest" song. But ghost doesn't really go very heavy. But Tobias forge was in a band before ghost that was specifically death metal, so the music from when he was with that band was very heavy.
I think mummy dust Is
Knew you'll love this one!
I just subscribed btw. I meant to subscribe the other day but I guess I forgot to click the subscribe button.
Fun fact tobias plays all instruments in this video 😊
For THE dark ghost, listen to ghost - elizabeth
Like the sound you liked at the end is called a harpsichord and it is a real instrument not a sample
Not everything has to be heavy
@@fightfannerd2078 Indeed. I never said that.
i miss cardinal copia in live shows
Speaking of the outro riff, I advice you to listen to this (its just a minute long) from Meliora album.

Seems like he predicted the coming Covid crisis and the government that handled it so badly.

I would say Klaus Meine of scorpions is closest match to tobias
When I first heard Dance Macabre that's exactly who I thought of at first.
Sounds like Muse
kiss the go goat bro! plis
