🦎 We built a SCIENCE LAB POND for Excelsior Charter School

Get the students outdoors more! Your school needs a pond to do science lab experiments with!
This outdoor science lab pond features an Aquascape 8' x 11' x 18" deep ecosystem pond with an Aquascape Automatic Dosing System, 3 LED lights, an Aquascape Aquasurge 2000-4000 variable speed app controlled pump, a signature series skimmer and 2500 biofalls.
The plantings were provided by Nature's Waterscapes from Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.
We are shooting to build 10 more of these ponds in the next year, and our hope is for at least 1 school pond for every school district in our area with our name on the plaque.
We feel that outdoor science labs are a great benefit to expand the curiosity of students of all ages! Imagine being able to study the growth cycles of things microscopic, to fish, frogs, and other wildlife. Inspiring the student to explore the great outdoors is exactly what we want to see, and who knows? The next professor might be one of the students that fell in love with (or possibly helped build) this very pond.

Thanks for the kind words Kim! I'm generally disappointed with the younger generation, but the students at Excelsior turned my expected disappointment into hope! They were very hard working, friendly, and truly a great joy to work with.

Hi! Nice work of art! Question: In your experience, what are the best plants to place in and around a water feature in the desert? Also, is mulching in a windy area okay,? Can other materials like DG be used in place of mulch?
