You can call it what you want. I call it entertaining, inspiring, educational. Whatever you call it. Keep doing it!
So strange you made this video because I was trying to put into words the types of videos you guys make a couple of days ago for a friend. Then I realised how much I appreciate the relaxed format of your channel which gives you the ability to chase things quickly and make interesting, dynamic and yet consistent content. So fresh.
Colin and Samir make videos about making videos... I don’t know if that’s your goal, but that’s the constant that I see in your videos. They’re all about making videos or content or creating. It’s interesting.
I got 400k subs and you're an inspiration to me
Thanks for watching, your content looks awesome! Wish we could understand more of it...
You guys are so underrated it us actually ridiculous, you're some of the best filmmakers on UA-cam hands down. Keep doing what you're doing.
Interesting! I always saw you guys as Internet/Film/Tech Savvy educators with a mix of documentation. I think you guys are doing a great job so far! The Yes Theory project looks intriguing haha
you guys are in a genuinely unique position with connections across LA that allow you to create content about content creation. you give insight on the different struggles and benefits to content creation while also allowing normal people to see what it is like to live the insane life of a content creator. maybe a full length documentary just surrounding what it’s like to be a UA-camr, podcast creator, author, etc. and feature prominent guests to speak on it like casey, yes theory, an author, etc. its content that i think a lot of people can benefit from, as most people dont understand the grind and effort it takes to create quality content, and grow an audience. whatever it is you do, keep it up, love the vids !
I love what you guys do, I find your work compelling and thoughtful
Whatever you call it, y'all are hustling. And making it happen. Your ability to stay on task and complete your projects while being fun to watch, is magic
👍😄💚
This one is really honest like your last podcast. I hope everything goes great for you!
I’d love to see a video on how you think it is being vloggers in LA. Seems like most of the big folks are in NYC but LA has big movies and tv. Does that feel near or do you feel totally divorced from that arena? Keep up the good work.
That's a cool question definitely may have to make a video about that
No matter what the video is about, I always feel inspired after watching you guys. Keep up the good work!
I just graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Documentary Filmmaking. I've been watching you guys for awhile, and you very much have inspired some of the things I love to film. Hope we can connect some day, keep up the awesome work Colin and Samir!
Love this. You guys are one of my favorite channels on here. Keep it up!
Keep killin it guys! Love what you guys are up to, it's almost like a new take on vlogging I really enjoy that!
I am so glad i subscribed to this channel sometime back, and now its worth every second !
👊🏼👊🏾
Love it! Every bit is inspiring and encouraging me to do more and work harder!!!!
Can't wait to see one of your documentaries!
love you! love your content! so proud of you!
Lol you guys will always be those 2 guys from the lacrosse network, but i love the new content
Ammar sent me here, your videos are awesome!
Thank you we love Ammar!
Still think Colin & Samir - the YT channel could be the west coast equivalent of what 368 is trying to build. Except you already have the fully finished studio & are exceptional at spotlighting new creators (subbed to Methodbox thanks to you.) Would like to see C&S - the YT channel host a new creator every week, as a way to discover other talented UA-camrs.. make a collaboration with them, or just let them take over the studio for a video that has to be shot & finished / shared within 24 hours. Eventually what would be cool is to see you take all these creators that you've spotlighted collaborate on a feature to be entered in a film festival. And as far as what you do - I think Colin & Samir answers the question, what if Willy Wonka had started a UA-cam channel. Looking forward to you guys getting your Gold play button!
Dig it you guys! Inspired me.
YESSSS! Podcast lets goooo! Also... loved this video because the past week I've been on this same thought of aligning my actions to fulfill my goals. At the moment I'm a bit all over the place
👊🏼👊🏾
You guys are inspiring! I absolutely love your style even if you don't know what to call it! You guys are killin it!🤙
Filmmakers or not you guys film videos in a really nice way. You have a way with story telling & editing that makes it seem right and that makes a lot of people happy including myself :)
🙌🏼🙌🏾
Always making great vids. Congrats!
you know ever since last year during my senior year of high school I started getting asked "So what are you going to do?" and it's always felt a bit weird to talk about it mainly cause I chose to not go to college instead to pursue my dream in film making and youtube. I always manage to talk about my ongoing projects with freelancing and all, but I feel like I'm going further and further away from my ultimate goal of making my own content (on youtube). Love the message of this video and its a bit of a slap in my face to tell me to really focus on what I want to accomplish.
This was so inspiring! This made me question if I actually want to work for Apple or to find a job that I feel like I’ll be successful in. Thank you so much for putting this out to help me decide my profession.
This IS a C&S style documentary and I love it. You need more people if you want to make a Ken Burns style doc or grow more arms.
Just a coupla guys ploggin along... 😂
Great work dudes, I definitely see you as doc filmmakers - it’s like y’all host your own little doc show with you as the hosts and I love that!
You should make a video of your "dream day" like make a list with a schedule of your perfect day and then do.
Always inspiring
you guys are inspiring. I listened to your podcast in Venice, it was super nice because I got to know more about you guys, like samir's family business for example or helping Yes theory shoot their photos in the studio. I loved it
Keep it up guys
Blue Bottle... so good :)
Great video guys. Thanks for the process and sharing your goals and style. Its been a blessing that I found y'all.
So good! I always struggle with this too
Oh.. tips for making a doc. Just freaking do it. What’s stopping you? Do whatever it is you need to do to get inspired.
Guys I love this documentary Idea your going in the right direction. I am like super proud of people I've never met.
👊🏼👊🏾
Track it every day - good words.
Good channels take time to grow.
Awesome video as always!!
Hey guys this video just awesome, funny, cool and moreover this video is from one of my favourite channel. Keep on posting videos bros
👊🏼👊🏾
To be fair I think you guys have the best career!
i really like your videos they are really diversified!!!
#plogging great video guys
OMG guys clean your keyboard! :-D Haha love it.
You guys should make a series or a documentary about the people of LA.
What I find helps is writing down an entire “script” and “idea”. It should fill about an entire page. This way when u shot u rely back to this paper as the guiding document for your documentary!
This is awesome, my parents will ask every evening what I did during the day when I made a vlog. Hard to kind of express “I made a vlog” Somewhat similar to “What do you do?”
Such a great video!
The really cool thing about documentary film is its a kind of amorphous genre - there's no definitive way to make one. So I'd say however you guys dive into doc work makes you doc filmmakers.
Talk to everyone.
YES
Love your way of production! Do you feel like when you document everything, you live life behind a lens too much or is there a healthy balance you like to do? Be great see a video outside of your working/filming life
These videos are so helpfull
Hey (I’m saying this so u know I’m a subscriber before your channel blows up)
As long as you guys make it/are in it i like it :)
👊🏼👊🏾
Amazing video guys! When you guys do end up making that documentary, not *if* - WHEN, I might know a guy who worked with you in the past who would want to work with you again ;)
I like this a lot.
Great stuff. Are you working in or outside a prison? (The high walls with barbwire on them?)
Great video!
Great video guys! #Werk
Thanks for the inspiration guys! One of my goals is to hit 1,000 subscribers this year and I reached my 100 milestone today. Every little bit of progress counts.
I wish I had your storytelling powers!
Love your video style, whatever you'd call it I find it super engaging.
As for the documentary, do you have any subject or theme ideas in mind?
We love talking about creators, artists, musicians so I think we'll just start talking to a lot of people and trying to come across interesting stories.
Great video btw ! keep it up
You guys need a TV show.
That would be cool
Colin and Samir Very Cool.
Telling an amazing story, and u will reach your goal... ;)
This has been a difficult question for me to answer for years. I've looked at my life --how it doesn't measure up to what I believe about my potential--and the best answer I can come up with is, "I'm a loser." This year that looks to be changing, so I'm just a couple decades behind schedule. It's like I only just figured out what it means to develop habits that move me in the direction of what I want to achieve.
When someone asks what you do. Say "Whatever it takes!" haha!
when doing research, don't use the internet. i had to do this for an urban planning and development class and although it was really difficult, it was really fulfilling and insightful.
How about find someone you look up to and document their day, follow them where they go. This could be a mentor or a vlogger. You could even document a vlogger as they film theirself, shoot b-roll, edit their video, and hit the magic upload.
Set aside at least 1 hour each day working on a documentary (whether it be research, shooting, editing, distribution, etc.)
Hey guys! You could make a video about your studio space. What is it like and how do you use it. Love your content!
True we should do that 👊🏼👊🏾
Nice video! The biggest question I have when it comes to this kind of question (that I keep wonder myself) is how to track bigger and complex goals? In other words, is easy for small objectives and actions, to keep track of how much you have accomplish, but when it comes to complex "road" you don't have a map and it's less easier to understand if you are going in the right direction, and sometimes you feel lost just because nobody passed by the same route.. being with someone else might help (you two seems to be an example for that), but is not always an option :/
Become a minimalist guys!
Post Notification Squad
Be dope make it have this dope purpose what's a documentary without a really intriguing message
Damn dudes. The Hustle is real. You guys are going to be huge.(You're pretty huge now, in relative terms, but you'll definitely be Casey Neistat huge some day :) ) Keep pushing, I know you guys are working yourself to death, but keep doing it!
Tip for the documentary: Make the documentary on something that YOU guys are interested in. It will make it a lot more fun and interesting. If that doesn’t work, try making it about something that you would like to learn.
A lot of truth to that 👊🏼👊🏾
nice video!!!!!!!!
Do a video with superwoman 😍
I don't know if you guys will see this, but my advice would be that you already know what it takes to make a full length documentary, you just need to be more precise in your storytelling, You are doing so many different projects which is great, don't get me wrong (means more entertaining content for all of us to watch!) but to make a feature length film, I feel like that needs to be the sole thing you are putting your energy into, all your research and time needs to be highly focused to that project, thats my advice... hope it helps and hope you guys reach your dream of being featured at a film festival
Agree with you I think we’ll need to really focus in on the task. It’ll be a big undertaking
Plogging is the combination of picking up trash and jogging...google it love your work btw.....
Ha sounds interesting we’ll look into it. And thanks 🙌🏼🙌🏾
Nah I dig your guys’ styles
Ammar brought me here. No regrets 💯
👊🏼👊🏾
Hey are you guys at VidCon?!?! I'd love to say hello!!!
Will you have time for a fan-meet up in Denver?
We are outfit tracking you
Hello
Hey guys. What're you thinking the doco will be on?
Prioritizing is essential and like you said, even if we have something in our minds as "number one," our actions really show what is number one in our lives. That being said, you guys do great work, but not all of that work is going towards the goal of making a documentary. You have to say no to other work and start focusing on your actual goal. Collaborating with other people is great, but I think you need to learn the power of no. If you start helping all of your friends with projects, you are directing your attention away to other things. You might need to say no for now and focus on you guys. Then, after accomplishing your goal of a documentary, you can answer yes to other work.
This is solid feedback appreciate it 👊🏼👊🏾
I am excited to see where y'all go! I live in Austin, so I will be at SXSW each year waiting for that documentary.
Plogging? Why not VLOGCASTING?

1:31... Pauly's Project!!! Check them out on Instgram paulyproject... Very inspiring story!!!!! Might be a great short film documentary!
Where did you buy you wheels and trucks for your company?
I’m trying to find the Colin to my Samir 😭😢
I was sent here by ammar ;)
Ammar is the best
How do you guys feel about your lower view counts (subjective take because I only watch big channels) but at the same time having insanely nice like/dislike ratio? What keeps you guys going?
Start with what you know and tell a story about that. Then grow from there
Go somewhere you’ve never been and challenge yourself to tell a story other than about the trip your on.
