Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere UK 2014, it was their first concert outside of Asia in front of 60.000!!! english metalheads which had no idea of who Babymetal were.
This song was a live premiere the day before this as an opener and the second as an ender, almost every other concert after that got this song as an ender or part of the encore. Everytime i hear this song and recognize all the efforts they put throughout their journey to reach to this point, always makes me fight the tears. This song works as a follow up of "Tales Of The Destinies" (a progressive metal with heavy tribute to Dream Theater), in fact both were composed together but split in two parts, that's why live at Tokyo Dome 2016 is the perfect choice to watch and one time moment they performed this set. Although this lyric is half English/Japanese, the international version of the album got the full English version and they did a great job with the pronunciation being so young, nowadays they can perfectly sing in English and sometimes speak almost fluently too, the whole purpose of this was to letting know everyone that they're aware of fans all over the world trying to understand Japanese just because of BabyMetal songs, so they did the same with this special song going full English lyrics for the first time, they don't have so many songs full English lyrics, only four songs so far, including one from the new album. The girls (the original trio when YuiMetal was still there, not Momoko yet), with only 16 and 17 yo were asked what they want to do performing on the stage and they said they want to fly, and this is the closest thing they did to reach and get close to the fans and show some love just like everyone loves BM. Footage was taken from live at Yokohama 2015, the final live concert of the "Trilogy of 2015" a series of headlining concerts throughout that year, thou this MV isn't live sound. Like i said there are some special versions of this song like live at Legend S 2017, or "The One - Stairway To Living Legend" or The One - Unfinished Version which is like a short version of the latter i mentioned and is available at The First Take along with Monochrome Piano Version. This was the version from the Japanese edition of the album, so it is the half and half English-Japanese version. The international edition has the full English version that the girls had challenged themselves to do as a mark of respect and appreciation to the foreign fans who they noticed had been learning Japanese to sing along with them as they toured the world. This is effectively their love letter to the fans (who they also named "THE ONE"). Being the official video this had the studio audio and of course you couldn't hear the crowd all singing along as you would in a live version. "The One" is a song especially for the fan's. the girls were so touched that fans all over the world made the effort to learn the lyrics in japanese. babymetal + the fan's is collectively called "The One".
They started in 2010 when Su was 12 and Moa and Yui were 11, we can say that they grew together, they were kids and they became girls (and now women) together. This means that there is a connection, a bond, between them which is unique. They were part of a "school" named Sakura Gakuin, google it and discover where they come from (Momo, the new third member after Yui left the band, was a Sakura Gakuin member too)...
Just to clarify, Momo only officially joined the group 2-3 months ago, in April 2023. This video has the original line up with Yui as the other backing singer and dancer alongside Moa. Yui left in 2017-18 and since then until this year Babymetal had only two official members. Momo became one of many support dancers in 2019, although most of them left and it's just been Momo since 2020. So she's been around a while and finally was rewarded for her dedication by becoming an official member, but a lot of the videos you'll watch will have Yui in it instead, and a few might have different support dancers too.
