Song's name "Akatsuki" or "紅月 - ア カ ツ キ -" is actually the contraction of "akai + tsuki" (meaning "red moon" or more specifically, crimson moon) and is clearly a tribute to the song "Kurenai" by X-Japan. The kanji "紅" can be also read as "kurenai" and means "crimson red" (all credits... and complaints to Du-Metal 😁). I really love this song. Actually, "Akatsuki" is my favorite song, only matched by "Megitsune", both sharing my absolute number one. And this performance is top for many, many reasons. I know there are better ones technically (mainly because of Su's more mature vocals) but this always be very special to me. Musically speaking: I'm totally into power metal and double kick bass drumming, also love the guitar solos dueling and harmonizing and cool bass lines. And this song has everything. Not to mention, of course, the incredibly clear and powerful vocals of Su... she really nails it!

This song is inspired by and pays homage to X Japan's classic song 'Kurenai'. This is one of Su-metal's 4 solo songs (Yui and Moa would be getting a chance to catch their breath back stage. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) also had 4 songs they would perform as a duo without Su. The instrumentalists are the Kami Band. Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL - that is why they wear the traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. In December 2017 they changed to black robes, in 2019 the face paint was replaced with masks. At Budokan Black night the Kami band were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. NARUTOのAKATSUKI（"暁"）ですが、日本語本来の"暁"の意味は夜明け寸前の事です。転じて、事が起こったその時という意味もあります。NARUTOでは明確に説明されていませんが、新しい平和な世界を目指す意味を込めて命名したのだと私は考えています。
次にBABYMETALのAKATSUKIですが、これは赤い月を意味する造語です。赤といっても色々な赤がありますが、"紅"は口紅の赤色を示し情熱的な赤色を表現する時に使われる言葉。AKA＝"紅"（Red？）、TSUKI＝"月"（Moon）。
