I have a smile on my face the whole way through your tour...thanks so much for the fun times...very much needed and very much appreciated...hello from a very wet and blustery Nova Scotia...take care and have a great week...
Thank you for those kind words! Hope this depressing time isn't bringing you down too much - things will get better soon! ...One hopes. Maybe there'll even be some sun in Nova Scotia :)
I think the taxidermist thought, since it was a pet, maybe its more like a dog with cute eyes and pretty teeth . I want to know, what was the king reaction when he first saw it?
That sounds pretty plausible actually! Maybe he'd just seen dogs and cats before this. Haha, I unfortunately found no records of what the king said, but I'd love to know too!
@@voltexvoltex3283 Apparently the taxidermy was made a few years after Leo died, and only the bones and hide were preserved. I wonder If the hide shrunk a bit, and that’s why his eyes ended up so close together? It might be why he seems a little small for an Asiatic lion, too (I’ve never seen him in person, though. Someday!)
I just found out about this lion this morning. After looking into it further I was laughing so hard I was tearing up. This thing is pure gold. I love it.
I agree! :D I just love seeing it - and it's really fun to bring people to the castle who's never seen it before. Everyone just cracks up completely at it :)
The taxidermist manage to make a masterpiece out of this lion, it's all about perspective, his tangue out and that smile who's suppose to look like what draws of lion's look like, Head on the left, tail on the right ... and then you get the full picture!
Ha ha 😂 I like this very much 👍 The kind of walk through of a tourist attraction that is bearable 😄 But Silvia is the queen 😂 I know my Swedish royalty 😄 See you on your next video 👍
Really happy that you liked it! :D I had so much fun just walking around over there. But did I goof up somewhere? Did I say queen instead of something else? Dammit in that case! :)
@@ThreeStarVagabond I think you stood by a portrait of Silvia and said she was the crown princess? But I may be wrong. Silvia and Victoria resembles one another quite a bit 😄
@@scandinaviannaturediaries8892 Hmm.... I tried to check my original footage if I could zoom in on the plaque, but I didn't shoot that far down. I really can't tell from just the picture, if it's Silvia or Victoria! Haha :D

@@ThreeStarVagabond I like the nerdy slang! Always looking to add to the vocabulary. It's kind of hard sometimes though being stuck here in Georgia in the US. Love your accent though! 🤗
@@claudiajackson7863 Thank you! Haha, that's my Swenglish, with Swedish pronunciations. It's fun learning about new things, right? Nerdy slang or just how people live in other places. I'm sure Georgia would be really fascinating to me!

Fun fact the reason why it looks like that is because the taxidermist did not know what a lion looked like ( it was the medieval era )
Didn't bro see the dead lion he had to taxidermy?
@@mrrocket8467no, it was done 50 years after the lion died. They saved the bines and skin.

...So... Basically, if you rearrange the lion a bit, and stand in JUST the right way.. Then it almost looks like a lion? :D
Dude the lion has HUMAN TEETH XD TGIS WAS JUST PERFECTION MAN XD
The freakiest lion EVER! Like something out of Alice in Wonderland 😀
The lion body actually looks good. He was probably a very talented taxidermist on the whole. But that face.
That's the most positive comment I've heard all day. Very optimistic way of looking at this...quite interesting beast :D
He is my spirit animal
Leo is such a magnificent creature. Majestic!
No cause byeee🖐🏾😩🤣😭😭!!!!!
Thanks for the tour. you make it fun. Haha that is goofy for sure. Thanks for this. 👍
Really happy you enjoyed it! I love looking at that lion - and the castle is an added bonus :)
That lion 🦁 was to taxidermy the same as what the Vasa was to naval warfare!
Sweden is full of tragicomic things it seems 😀 I actually love that lion.. It's wonderfully weird!
The whole video is fantastic and I was smiling the whole time but starting 4:56 I was rofl
Wow, thank you so much! Really happy that you enjoyed it...and I had a lot of fun filming it 😀
My goodness, that lion looks like Pete the Puma 🤣. Amazing video, thank you for sharing!
I had never heard of Pete the Puma so I had to look it up now! There are some similarities... :D Thank you so much for watching!
Leo is perfection. The ultimate form of the lion.
All hail Leo, king of the Swedish woods!
Leo probably needs a new haircut
after that he'll drive girls crazy!
Oh absolutely! The lionesses will all swoon at the sight of his button eyes and unholy face!
Leo is doing his best.
And Leo's worst is still perfection!
Good work 👏
Thanks! That makes my day :D
Idk, that lion is gonna cause me nightmares. It looks very creepy to me
Fair enough! It does look pretty creepy doesn't it...
Idk who’s weirder, the lion or the guy behind the video 🤣
I'm biased so I won’t vote. But what I lack in button eyes I make up for with weirder comments than the lion

I had to google an image of that scene and...it's uncannily similar! 😀
It looks like it's wearing dentures. I laughed sooo hard the first time I saw this thing. King of the jungle??? Looks like the jester. 😂

His tongue makes it the best 🤣
Agreed! And the eyes - those are just hilarious too. Oh, and the teeth...
I found the lion quite disturbing.
I love that comment... It really looks weird right! I'm getting some Coraline (by Neil Gaiman) vibes from it...

Haha. I think that's the only reasonable reaction to have :D

That lion is the best thing to show visiting people. No one is prepared for this monstrosity :D

I guess it is! Just about the most Swedish a lion can get...unfortunately....
