Ellen, I love all your videos but I have to say my favorites are the 4th of July soaps you do. YOU ARE A GREAT AMERICAN! Blessings to you and your family.
Just for info, a cp soap batter cannot really sustain much more than 7% fragrance oil anyway otherwise it will split or ooze out while saponifying. As a general rule it's best to limit the load to 6% for that very reason. And for the same reasons that's why m&p is limited to 3% fragrance load even if the ifra percentages may state higher the batters can't hold more. Lovely soap Ellen!! Happy Independence Day! Canada Day for us is tomorrow! 🎉 🇨🇦
Ellen, I just wanted to say, Thank-you! You have inspired me to find joy in a hobby and I’m so grateful for all of your time and efforts you put into these videos. You are truly a mentor, so, again, thank-you.
Great layers, I did the same as you for a rainbow soap and it took 3 hrs because I used a slow moving fragrance, never again. I have replaced olive oil with a mixture of 20 % Sunflower and 18% Rice bran keeping a eye on the Linoleic and Linolenic numbers by making sure the combined total stayed under 14
Yeah, I got the Sunflower oil/Olive oil blend from Sam's. It's cheaper than Olive on its own. I'm just watching out for DOS! I haven't seen any yet, though! 😊 Cool soap again, Ellen! Happy 4th! 🎆🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆
Really beautiful soap Ellen! I just had my nails done last week as a mother-daughter day with my middle child. I’ve been struggling to adjust since my new nails reach everything before the rest of my hand. 😄
Beautifully done, Ms. Ellen. That blue is EVERYTHING. I wonder what it would look like with trial by fire red? Either way it’s beautifully done and thank you again for sharing your gift with us. ❤❤
Wow, so pretty, red, white and blue, I have to make a batch now lol! So, when you divided the lye up, did you take the full liquid amount and divide it by six?
@@EllenRuthSoap do you have any recommendations for substitution of the palm oil with another oil. I really don't know what else I can use. Thank you for responding though
@margaretburrus5421 there is no one to one substitution for palm oil is what she's saying. It adds to the lather and hardness of the bar like coconut oil and not much really replaces that. Babassu oil would be the closest or you can add tallow or lard. You can add extra coconut oil but that is more drying. Most palm free recipes add extra butters because you need the hardness. Regardless you still need to try different recipes through a soap calculator to see what works.
Hi Ellen, I wonder if you could help me out here lol, I'm trying to figure out how much sugar scrub to make, I have the Stevenson bath butter and I want to make 12 8 ounce jars of sugar scrub, how much bath butter do I measure out?
Patriot here too...LOVE the 4th of July..that and Thanksgiving are my 2 favorite holidays..xxx
❤️🤍💙
Beautiful soap, as usual! I also love using an ocean scent for my patriotic soap.

Wow, thank you!💙
Great video, and the soap is beautiful loved the fireworks too.
Glad you enjoyed it❤️🤍💙
Very cool soap! Ty
Another GREAT video and soap. Look forward to trying this. I use Sunflower oil in my dog shampoo bar and it is a very nice soap and lathers well.
Loved it, and thanks for the teaching ...as always. I was not aware that the color thing would get better after soap is completely saponified.
Happy 4th of July, Ellen. I hope you had a beautiful day with friends and loved ones. Love the soap as always.
Thank you, we had a wonderful day! I hope your day was blessed too❤️
So cute 🥰!
Thank you! 🤗
Absolutely gorgeous! You're such a creative soap maker.
Thank you so much!💙
Love it! ❤
Thank you! 😊
I actually do a olive oil, rice bran & sunflower blend now to help with stretching the olive oil due to price increase.
The top looks just like fireworks in the night sky, happy 4th. Of July to you and your family Ellen!😊
Thanks ❤️🤍💙
I love the way they turned out!!! ❤❤
Thank you 💙

Thanks for sharing! Yes, if the fragrance is slow, this can be a long process🤣
Beautiful I love this!❤
Thanks 💙
They look beautiful Ellen. I actually made your freedom bars this year. They are so fun! ❤🤍💙
Thank you❤️

Really beautiful soap Ellen! I just had my nails done last week as a mother-daughter day with my middle child. I’ve been struggling to adjust since my new nails reach everything before the rest of my hand. 😄
Oh yes! The nail issues... But I love when they're all done up😉
Beautiful soap as always Ellen. This is Karen from the cruise. Today is Canada Day here! Have a happy July 4th ❤
Hi Karen! Happy Canada Day❤️
Beautifully done, Ms. Ellen. That blue is EVERYTHING. I wonder what it would look like with trial by fire red? Either way it’s beautifully done and thank you again for sharing your gift with us. ❤❤
Thanks! I think Trial by Fire would be a great option in this❤️
You’re most welcome.
Ellen I love your soaps and video. I don't know if you're aware but you really say a lot of um throughout the videos😄😄😄😄
Thanks! I do appreciate the feedback, I get nervous when I'm speaking but I know I need to improve😉
Very cool looking! Where did you get the mini jars that your lye mixture was in? I need some of those!
These are very similar (also WSP carries them too): amzn.to/4bytCMU
Please make a video on dividing the batter and lye. I want t to see how to divide the oils and lye and make different colours of soap.
Wow, so pretty, red, white and blue, I have to make a batch now lol! So, when you divided the lye up, did you take the full liquid amount and divide it by six?
Yes, I mixed the full lye solution, then split into 6 small amounts...

Thank you 😊 💓
Also, where did you find the little cups with handles you used to divide your lye water? They look just the right size for many uses in soap making.
I got those from WSP💙
@@EllenRuthSoap THANK YOU!!
I notice that you've added sunflower oil. What is your experience after curing? I have read about DOS. I would love your thoughts.
Great question, and I talk about it in a upcoming video. So far I haven't had DOS, but I know it can be an issue..
Hello Ellen! Do happen to have the measurements for the TD solution you use? I have that same bottle but I can figure out the 2 to 1 😩
I would suggest using measuring cups, like 1/2C T.D. and 1 C water...
Wow I really want to try to make this. It will be my first. However, I don't have palm oil. Is there an oil that I can substitute
If you sub any oils in a CP recipe, you'll need to run the numbers thru a soap calc to make sure your lye ratio is correct.
@@EllenRuthSoap do you have any recommendations for substitution of the palm oil with another oil. I really don't know what else I can use. Thank you for responding though

Hi Ellen, I wonder if you could help me out here lol, I'm trying to figure out how much sugar scrub to make, I have the Stevenson bath butter and I want to make 12 8 ounce jars of sugar scrub, how much bath butter do I measure out?
That really depends on how much you whip the butter.. My 8 oz jars would end up holding about 6 oz of product.
@@EllenRuthSoap well, that doesn't help much with the sugar part lol!
