I remember when Katie from Royalty Soaps tried this technique! It wasn't the usual way she made soap, so it didn't come out the way she wanted, but of course, it still came out a great soap.
Your videos and recipes are always so helpful. I'm often curious as to why you change the lye concentration on the calculator instead of leaving it as the original 38% water as % of oils. Thanks so much for all your help Holly.

I've often wondered but I don't think I've asked; with the high amount of olive oil, do you feel like it takes longer than 4-6 weeks to cure? I've used 40% before and it seemed like it took a couple, few months for me! I've never used your recipe though..... So, maybe mine was not good. LOL thanks for the beautiful video!
Thank you for watching! I normally prefer to use a ratio of 50/50 soft to hard oils (or even 45/55). This recipe was 55 soft/45 hard, so I might let it sit for 6 weeks instead of my usual 4 week cure time. Bars with a higher percentage of hard oils will definitely last longer in the shower, though. And of course it really depends on the fatty acid profiles of the oils. Yes, it gets smaller and smaller as you add more soap, thus not achieving the same design effect.

it does take longer..it creates a soft bar
