The original script had humans returning to Pandora to harvest the Na'vi's dead bodies to synthesize into a powerful drug that when injected intravenously would give the humans anti ageing properties, but was later changed to be given to the whale-like Tulkun creatures instead. The title was going to have been "Avatar: Blue Harvest", which was also the working title of the first Star Wars film.

The bit in the middle with the sea creatures was the best part for me. The choice to take the time and live in the world gives everything else so much more meaning, and is the exact thing I’m frustrated with other blockbusters about excluding. I’m introduced to a world I can clearly see the filmmakers love and want to share, instead of underserving awesome concepts with inane brevity.

James Cameron should get into video game creation. He clearly loves world building and exploration more than story telling, I think he could make some awesome worlds for people to discover. Or at least fund the projects and have ideas that he can force people into creating

Edit: thought about it a little more. A MMO that runs parallel to the movies - like maybe it is set in the future and you are trying to figure out what happens and you get a new batch like a week after the next movie releases. That would be some next level multi-media synergy.

The variable framerates in Avatar 2 were so jarring for me. The whole 3rd act it seemed like they were changing from 24-48 fps from one cut to the next, back and forth mid scene and the shutter speeds seemed set incorrectly, the motion blur was off.... From too smooth, to janky and choppy, then back again, OFF, ON, OFF, ON. Really hope that wasn't a choice, and I just saw a bad projection.

I’m surprised that person said the middle dragged. For me the first hour I looked at my watch and said “it’s only been an hour!?” And then the second hour I was like “it’s already been an hour?!” And the third hour I was like “did we really need these kids to get captured immediately after going through all of that to rescue these other kids that captured😩😩.”
High frame rate at parts made me want to vomit but there were parts when at the end when the characters were coming out of the water to catch their breathes and it just looked like people with blue face paint coming out of the water. That was the best part for me as far as the amazing visual effects go. Idk if that sounds sarcastic but it isn’t, I was truly impressed by that thing in particular. Overall 4/5 stars.

Look, I'm a big fan of Gunn. And DC's attempts at a connected cinematic universe have always struck me as straight up bad. But considering how critical fans have been of Marvel's phase 4, general superhero fatigue, and now the backlash against WB for throwing the baby out with the bathwater in this major recasting...I can't for the life of me imagine this new DCU being "as successful" as the MCU. I'm sitting here trying to imagine a world where anyone buys this.
Just make good movies. DC fans are starving for good movies, not _another_ attempt at a convoluted shared universe where you have to sit through hours of so-so narratives just so you can understand what comes next. Marvel should call it quits while they're ahead, too. Just make good movies...and then _sequels_ to those good movies, if people want more.

Kratos is actually sympathetic in the first GoW especially. He screws up with making a deal with a god and he gets fucked over a lot. It is a lot of screaming and anger but there is some depth to his character even in those first 3 titles.

I wonder which will not be made at all first, the Warhammer 40K movie or the Judge Dredd TV series.

The original God War series wasn't meant to be telling the story of a hero. It was an homage to Greek tragedies and Heracles, a flawed individual is seeking revenge for the wrongful death of his family. Yes he's unlikable but so are 99% of characters in Greek mythology.

What if there's a countdown in Oppenheimer and you think its for the trinity test but then there's the trinity test scence and the counter still has a like a month to go and its really counting down to Hiroshima.

Hogwarts Legacy comes out in the beginning of February and will be available on previous consoles. I’d love to hear you both talk about some of the gameplay trailers to see if it’s something you would like to play. I for one at pumped!

It's so funny that the only other review for Big Wet Blue Space Cats I've read held the opposite opinion of the film. They loved all the big ocean scenery and hated the storyline. That's opinions, dude.

James. I want you to know that I heard you say "Janiel" at 1:42:45, a hilarious reference to those silly Aunty Donna boys. But maybe you actually said "Daniel," and Maseau simultaneously saying the word "James" made it sound like you said "Janiel". I hope you said "Janiel." Please confirm. Or don't, it's fine either way.

I wish that with a dinosaur movie that's not affiliated with the Jurassic franchise, they'd take the opportunity to depict more scientifically accurate dinosaurs, but instead it seems like they've made them even worse. Compare that with Prehistoric Planet and it's way worse.

How can the movie not feature Barbie Girl? Just give Aqua all the money.
