I never hear anyone bring up that the original can of shaving cream in JP1 only had enough coolant to last 48 hours, so unless that can was recovered in 2 days the embryos inside would have been non viable. And in a series about bringing dinosaurs back to life, believing that can was dug from the mud by anyone in time to be useful is a bridge too far.
In regards to the Cube/Goduss tangent Mason went on, what James jokingly said is literally what happened, an 18 year old student from Glasgow downloaded the app, played for about ten minutes and then won the grand prize
This last Jurassic Park I think successfully overcame the problem all the sequels have faced if only briefly. The problem of how do you instill wonder from seeing dinosaurs after seeing then is normalized? I think they accomplished instilling that when Alan and Chris Prats character are working together to tame a baby velocitaptor and you see Alan's amazement in his eyes. The sense of wonder can come from being able to coexist with and bond with nature, with being able to tame these beasts.
53:53 Mason's take on crunching the numbers for the danger of releasing the dinosaurs is why I was so perplexed by the trailers. Every trailer has Ian Malcom pontificating that we were going to go extinct...how many dinosaurs were released? 40? 400? 1000? I mean we consider animals deeply endangered at those numbers. These aren't fantasy creatures--they seem quite susceptible to physical assault. Humans are quite violent. We could easily kill off an aggressive species that large. I mean in the major cheese movie Reign of Fire they were working with dragons and threw in a bunch of extra caveats on why those overran the world. It makes sense to me that the dino-apocalyse angle was a red herring to hype people up given no one would be excited for a "Technically it's still Jurassic World Because These Big Bugs are Super Old!"

The bit with the locusts not eating BioSyn crops is actually more realistic than you might think. The concept seems to come directly from the real world example of when Monsanto sold genetically modified seeds that were resistant to their powerful insecticides and then the insecticides drifted onto the fields of smaller individually owned farms and devastated the crops of those who didn't buy their seeds from Monsanto. Since so much farmland is corporately owned, individual farmers can really struggle to have their voices heard, so while rival corporations might collect evidence against BioSyn it's not that unrealistic that the small family owned farm that Dr. Sattler visits would be struggling to get the word out.
