Having Morbius win every single award was a daring move, but im all for it
Honestly I wouldn't have it any other way
Spoilers! Lol jk
@@tintinthereporter4391 from a different perspective, technically true
I 🎉don’t😢🎉😢🎉😢🎉😢😮🎉😢🎉
Cant wait for Morbius, Too: Vampiric Boogaloo, The Sequel. Its currently under the working title of Blue Harvest, which, funnily enough, was the working title for the original Star Wars, now known as A New Hope.
James and Mason's theories about Tom Cruise are absolutely hilarious. I can't wait for their Caravan of Garbage of Mission Impossible IV to VI this year leading up to VII.
I can't wait to see what stunts James is going to do for the next ones.
The sheer number of amazing running/inside jokes this year has been amazing. Comedt gold all year long.
Rodneeeey
I live for the moments when you guys just riff off the other and just the silent after each line when I know you're absolutely dying laughing.
Rumor is the rock sent this podcast to James gunn to show how many fans are demanding for Black Adam vs Morbius.
Yes!
8:25 I love when James calls out Maso's interruptions.
It came to my attention this year that 80% of the podcast is just James desperately trying to get through his notes while Mason relentlessly derails them every time James opens his mouth
The Rock’s character in Pain & Gain was the best part and 100% I would watch a spinoff movie about his born-again and sober ex-con rediscovering cocaine while torturing and extorting clients at the gym. Seriously one of his career highlights for me and one of the rare times where The Rock actually acted like something other than The Rock.
Best Christmas present every year. (Okay maybe tied for Raw's highlights ep)
That being said...merry Christmas from Wales thanks for getting me through the year guys 😁
You guys need to make a Del ToroPalooza Marathon for Caravan of Garvage. Do it for your mexican fans.
And also for Del Toro fans in general!
Thanks for another year of lovely Monday nerd news, fellas.
I'm going through the most difficult period of my life by far and The Weekly Planet has been a consistent source of calm and joy for me in this time. Thanks so much boys.
How's it going now?
I NEED an episode talking about the first Men in Black, i am not a paying member of this channel but will still make my demands
Morbius was the best and the worst.
It was the movie of the year!!!
Morbius was the Morbestius and the worstofus
It was the best of morbs, it was the worst of morbs
To Morb, or not to Morb- THAT, my friends, is the real question
@@tylerharris1443 I mean... morb, right?? that's no question
What’s cool about the best and worst of the year is that “worst” is often attributed to the color “blue” (going blue in the face etc.) and “best” can often be represented by “harvest” (farmers celebrating the harvest). So the working title of this video can be Blue Harvest, which coincidentally was also the working title of the original Star Wars.
I did that exact “headphone up hoodie arm and hand in head” thing to listen to this podcast during class when I was in high school
I haven’t had such a breathe of fresh air or a sigh of relief for content like this in a while😂 I’m sooo happy you boys have this episode because it has been understandably dryyy for any of my YT activity so you’ve literallyyyy saved me here 😮💨😇
1:54:25 the lads explaining the existential pain of checking UA-cam studio and seeing a 10
Oppenheimer Gangnam Style 🤣🤣 threw me off with that one Maso after I was just recovering from James’s MAYBE’s 😂
Another flawless year boys, lets go! Weekly planet killing it as always. 20 year old's (or maybe a different number) James and Mason entertaining us mere mortals with their certified fresh 100% on Rotten Tomatoes podcast. Sweeping all the categories of the Oscars, Emmy's, Grammy's and Razzies this year YET AGAIN. Gonna miss you boys and looking forward to your return with an episode/commentary/Caravan of Garbage of Snake Eyes when you guys get back from the moon or wherever Australians vacation.
Blue Harvest, Makulnkie, Mason's dad: Bob Iger, What do you think the story was?, Who ate all my pascetti?, DEFENDERS OF THE EARTH, Westworld, RODNEY! and Grab dat Gem everybody
Always love to listen to You guys
Thank you for a great year boiz!
I can't wait for the new theme tune to just be James saying "westworld" and "blue harvest" over and over and my brain collapses
I was gonnaaa sayyy if Skaar wasn’t in the worst hair category then I would start a riot at the awards mate 😂
Some tough competition this year, but you did it, number one podcast again! Just amazing how you keep winning that year after year
Scenes being in the trailer but not in the movie is one thing, but an entire actor is a whole ass different subject.
Keep up the great stuff James and Mason. P.s. Glass is frozen air!
Hot damn! MerryXmas Boys!🎉
Thank you for being grateful. What a life.
merry christmas and happy new year all
I'm disappointed Belle fell under the radar for most people. Mamoru Hosoda has a really good track record, he's basically the new Miyazaki.
Still haven't seen Belle (missed the limited film release earlier this year), but his track record is solid. I've been enjoying his work since Summer Wars. Wolf Children and Mirai brought me to tears.
"Well I best go over there and do whatever that thing over there I was gonna do was" - just Barry Keoghan delivering the greatest line of 2022
My favorite part was James' soulless delivery of telling the new Fast & Furious movie to F Off. 1:42:09
Thanks, mates.
Have a nice break guys
16:30 They’ll have Ironheart recalibrate her Vibranium metal-detector to find Adamantium, and Deadpool will use that to find Wolverine’s bones.
Here's to a saner new year!
bloody senior year.
not gonna bloody happen mate
@@FelixJacobuscertainly not with that attitude.
I am severely disappointed I didn't get the visual Rodney bit experience in this otherwise non-visual podcast. 10/10 anyway as always
I don't know why, but James saying "fiddle-dee-dee" made me laugh harder than I have in a while
1:42:10 CORRECTTTT👏🏽 and to the 5 that came before!
the Vin 'OOooohhhh' had me dying
1:27:00 James just completely falling off the rails 😂😂
i just love when you guys go, "YUCK! YUCKY! YUCKO!"
Tom Cruise actually just dresses up as Vincent from Collateral, which gives him instant anonymity for visits to AMC Theaters.
Also, how dare you call "The Comics Destroyer", Paul Pope's art on Batman: Year 100 "Grubby"! HOW. DARE. YOU.
But seriously, it's incredible. Whoever hasn't read it, It's Batman-meets-Blade-Runner. Psychic Feds, Geopolitical Murder Mystery, and an Outlaw Vigilante.
"You know I have thick skin."
"I don't. You might, but you might just have good PR, I don't fkn know 🤷🏾♂️" 🤣💀
I wish they had the full spreadsheet of the percentages of all results and the write-ins. I think it's just a lot more interesting that way. Still had a blast with this though.
I figured the 2022 “best of” episode would be an hour of some guy yelling “Rodney?!”
Bruce Wayne as Paladin would be pretty neat. It's basically if he super got into guns and turned into the Punisher instead of Batman.
They already basically did that for Batman v Superman.
I'm a simple man, I see a video from James and Maso and I click like and comment for the algorithm.
NOOOOOO! NOT THIS PARTICULAR THEME SONG!! ☹Unless of course it is being replaced by Masons rendition of "Save Me" by American alternative rock band Remy Zero 😁
The Warriors Way trailer has an old cowboy saying “ninjas…damn” that isn’t in the final movie. It didn’t ruin the experience but that was a big selling point for me if I’m honest
Edit: I feel the same about the “blue harvest” joke. Unbearable, the lot of you
I just started watching/listening to you guys a few months ago. I'd see you recommended but based on the name Caravan of Garbage and your beards, I assumed you guys were just another channel of (and for) angry bearded white guys and what a mistake that was. I've put in HUNDREDS of hours since then, correcting that mistake. Thanks for some of my favorite content and I look forward to a full year with you.
Scream in New York 😂
if you do a holiday movie series you have to do Prince of Egypt for passover lol
Shame that Prehistoric Planet only got a brief mention in best VFX. It truly was incredible how well the dinosaurs looked in it.
Beastie Boys riff was hilarious 😅
Paper Girls was the best comic book adaptation
Ironically, I was so thoroughly disappointed the No Woman No Cry/We gonna Be Alright song from the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was not in the film. Thought I couldn't even finish Yesterday it was so bad. Must have missed the Ana de Armas post credit scene 😂
2:10 haha I wonder what gets vetoed next year 😂
Just weird how Avatar gets shit for being more spectacle and just a basic story when that’s most blockbusters. Like look at most Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or Jurassic World. Like look at Top Gun for example. The story is very very simple and basic. But it’s well performed and very well executed. That’s the point. It matters how well it’s executed at the end of the day.
Yeah, agree, it is strange and stupid that this series gets more shit for story elements than others. Probably beause its so popular and effects are amazing. And also beacuse it is cool to say something bad about Avatar, for some reason. T2 has thesame plot as The Terminator and nobody cares. Avatar 2 is great!
@@sebastian11346 Exactly. The hate is so forced. Just because it became the highest grossing movie of all time.
@@nerdsoftheroundtable4406 Many people just act like zombies, in Avatar case (and not only)
Can you release the Rodney cut as it's own seperate video?
Yea, solid year. Y'all are great to fall asleep to. A lot of other UA-camrs get far too enthusiastic and the volume fluctuates too much but I know what I'm getting with you two. It's like a metronome. Yeah, you're not the guitar or and maybe you're like... but the drums can act as the metronome. True, but y'all are my favorite metronomes. Thanks
Puss in Boots 2 not winning best animated movie or even being nominated is a crime.
Is there a link to see all of the results?
45:39 asss ifffff 😂🤣 it’s had 9 seasons and the flash movie isn’t out yet, madness 😂
Sucks The Menu wasn't talked about more.
Fav credit scene is peacemaker. "Go fuck a fish" to aquaman
Morbius was definitely a movie
GI Joe: Snake Eyes really cleaned up!
Rude Obi Wan is low key the best
Mark my words, in Indiana Jones 5, Mutt will be killed offscreen by a big Vietnam War. And everyone will go, "yeah OK makes sense...anyway".
1:41:35 Apart from The Batman.
The 5 percent that picked Black Adam was probably just the Snydercult that haven't watched Peacemaker to be fair.
💕💕💕
My pressure build up is one of a absolutely demoralized toilet exploding full of poo
Sonic 2 over Edgerunners? Madness
1:12:45 The thing about characterising Boba Fett is that, from the Originals to the Prequels to the Disney stuff, he's been revised so many times that it's literally a completely different character at this point.
The version that Temuera Morrison is playing is not really like the kid from Attack of the Clones, which was already 100% different to how he was portrayed by Jason Wingreen and Jeremy Bulloch.
There are so many degrees of separation with Boba Fett, it's such a colossal fuck up years in the making from Lucas and now Disney that I literally don't care at all about the character.
Widdel Boi Maso is... unsettling
The Yesterday trailer: There is a threshold of truth that an advertisement must maintain and it must avoid misleading the audience specifically for the reason of dishonestly separating the audience from their money. Motivation is key to false advertising lawsuits. In the case of Infinity War, misleading the audience had nothing to do with tricking the audience out of their money. The plaintiff in this particular suit must have made a successful case that the marketing team for Yesterday knew they’d make more money if they deceptively left a movie star in the trailer, rather than edit her out. Because each case of false advertising would need to be laid out in front of a judge or jury, this probably means nothing for precedence.
Why are they getting rid of the weekly planet theme song?
Can someone tell me from which movie the Rodney thing come from please?
Man-Thing. It started in the Mr. Sunday Caravan of Garbage episode
Rodney!
This should be good. Maybe even great! Or, or… Perhaps superbarrific!
James vapor locks on the word 'jury' or possibly 'jewelry'...interesting. Michael Bay could figure out how to spin this factoid into a heist movie. I can only hope.
If I rented a film because a studio showed me that Ana de Armas was going to be in it, and she wasn't in it at all, I'd expect a refund. If they kept that trailer version up well after the film's release, I wouldn't mind a class-actrion suit hammering their ass. Hulk running with the heroes in the Infinity War trailer wasn't a scene in the film...but Hulk is in the film! Studio kows that de Armas is THE draw, and hoped to get away with it...to hell with all that.
May I ask isn't Batman Year 100 just the Batman Beyond?
regarding the multiverse and people disliking it when characters are brought back to life, that kinda has already happened with Mjolnir in Avengers Endgame and will happen with Gamora. personally i wasnt impressed by the MCU version of it, the Multiverse felt very small and limited in scope, Spiderverse actually felt like anything is possible.
I can see the Netflix going good or bad. Maybe some people will pay the $3, maybe some people will add an account for their friend/family as a gift, or, possibly, people who had separate accounts before will just ask their friend or family to add them to theirs and reimburse them. I wonder if Netflix accounted for the friends and family who have separate accounts who might consolidate those accounts, leading to a loss of $22 a month.
I guess we'll see.
Or what about the people that sign in on various other tv while on vacation, or while traveling? Does that count as giving away your password? This is such a stupid idea
If Boba Fett, in Boba Fett becomes some kind of Godfather style wrong-doer, with some sketchy morals he adheres too, then series one will be massively forgivable because he's tricked us and his fictional town, all.
Everytime Netflix has a good show, they either fuck it up or cancel it so theres never a real incentive to actually get an account
RRR is my movie of the year for sure
Damn, gonna miss these guys in January!
…or should I say mates
Groovy
Not gonna lie... I miss the old song😢
Monetary damages are one of the few ways to punish a corporation behaving badly. Sounds like it's well deserved, saying an actor is in a movie when they're not is definitely false advertising
I worked for AMC for a long g time and everyone else hates those Nicole Kidman things before the movie it's super annoying and literally everyone hated it lol
Still listening, but about that Fan4stick trailer. That trailer sold me on that movie, and wasting money that you don't have very much of taking time out of your life to see, to only see a ridiculously butchered mess of a movie is pretty bad in my book. Same with the 2016 Suicide Squad. That type of advertisement 100% false advertising and should not be allowed.
The 3 best movies on the thumbnail? Spoilers!
FYI This is the second time Thw Weekly Planet has attempted to post this after UA-cam demoneterized it, Apparently there was a copystrike claim because Mr Sunday Movies titled the post "Blue Harvest" which was the working title for Ep IV of Star Wars,
The kings man was 2021 not 2022
