I connected the hose to my sink and used both hot and cold water to fill. It was readybtonuse in about 4 hours then. Great short cut. Do not only hot water. Use a mixture of both hot and cold for a quick heat up.
Great review 👍 the first one I believe on this model as I had been looking everywhere for one prior to buying ours. Bought it as a surprise birthday present for my wife but when they delivered it I discovered there was absolutely no way I could move it to hide it away because of the weight so had to wrap the whole bugger up in gift wrap and left it in the lounge for two weeks which started a “what’s in the box ?” Guessing game between her and her mates lol. Ours came with a missing seal on the water intake pipe on the pump ( which I have still not received a replacement for from Bestway Aftersales and it’s been 4 weeks now!!!) Managed to get up n running by removing the O ring seal from the hosepipe draining attachment and transplanting it to the Pump. Like yourself we love it !! Great video , happy hot tubbing !!!
Ok. 1 you can, but harder to get the pressure up with water in the tub. 2. Could be the seal - check if in place. Otherwise likely pump not quite aligned properly. 3. Yes, if you prefer. Just do it with the jets and bubbles running to help it mix. 4. Yes, that’s fine although they should disappear/settle down once bubbles/jets turned off.
Any time that you have to open big boxes... lay them on their side...cut the Bottom section and then turn it so the bottom flaps are wide open...then just lift the box off of the contents !
When taking out of boxes lay box on side open bottom of box fold sides up you have to tilt up to do this but when done turn up right way and box will slide up over top can do this with all 3 boxes that way you can flat pck the box and store if you need to send back for replacement
Just got this coming from a lazy spa Paris. As I wanted the hydros. Can tell already it’s better build quality. Only thing I’ve notice you can’t use the hydros with the heater on.
I am looking for this one you installed...but all I find are models with only the small air bubbles...we want the jets. Do you have a model number? The Range link gives the one with no jets...
Did your water level drop the first time you used the hydro jets? I've just used mine for the first time (palm springs hydro jet) and when the hydro system filled with water it meant the water inside the tub dropped below the minimum. There was no mention of having to compensate for this in the manual. Thanks!
hi jill. yes, there is an o ring inside the coupling. it's important to make sure the pump and tub are on a flat/level surface so that the pipes can align nicely to ensure no leaks. it needs to be hand-tightened tightly (without cross threading or over tightening) to get a good seal. if you still have probs, i suggest you contact lay z spa...
Hi great vid. Trying to set mine up tonight but when I take the air nozzle out the time I screw on the cap its deflated slightly and soft. Should the little spring be pressed in or out?
Sorry for the slow reply, Lynette. The little spring should be out when the valve is open and the nozzle depresses it when attached. It pops out when you remove the nozzle to stop air leaking straight out again.
Leave the mats so people can wipe there feet. Also a bucket of water so they can rinse feet before getting in. It really helped to keep the Jacuzzi clean.

What's you view on keeping this type of hot tub in use during colder periods?. At the moment we have had temperatures hovering between 2 and 5 degrees for a few days by then it is going to get milder. I think the instructions said to put it away if temps go below 4 degrees but in the English autumn/winter climate it would be up and down all the time.
I pack my tub away during winter. The exposure to frost has the potential to wreck the pump, pipes and the tub itself. Some newer models have frost protection and are safe to leave out all year round.

Top video mate, just received my hydrojet pro and have some issues, 1.can you inflate the hot tub a bit more once water is filled? 2.have a slight leak on the heat valve , thinking it could be a .missing seal maybe? Aligned not right but it is on a flat, 3.can you just pour the solutions into the hot tub instead off mixing it with warm water then adding to tub? 4. noticed when I put solutions in and put jets on it really frothed, is that normal? If it's leaking where the pipes join, it's likely to be a missing plastic ring seal inside the pipe - sometimes they fall off in delivery. Otherwise, is likely due to pump and tub not being completely level. If neither of the above, then possibly a leak in which case you need to resolve under warranty.
They normally stay inflated fine for months on end. They can get soft if the temperature drops and benefit from adding a bit more air. If you get a puncture, you know quite quickly. They get soft in hours or days depending on the size of the puncture.

I'm just amazed at how good of a job they've done to make it so easy to use as well as include both airjets and aquajets for such a cheap, portable unit. I have only one suggestion for them which would be to have a splitter on the vaccum outlet with a switch to allow us to keep the inflating cable attached to the tub and simply flick a switch rather than having to disconnect the entire unit each time to re-inflate. Another accessory I'd like would be a hard insulation with a couple of different looks (e.g. 'wood look') that clips together around the outside and as a lid for the tub to make it both more heating efficient and look like a fixed place spa bath. Overall though, a very impressive unit for the price and thankfully no big leaks so far. I would have no idea where to find a leak if I got one though!

I have now bought the Hawaii Hydrojet and want to get started. Does the inflation stop automatically when the correct pressure has been reached or do you have to estimate that yourself? The manual says that the pump / filter box does not work when it is exposed to direct sunlight, what is your experience? Do I have to protect the pump box from rain and sun? Actually, I want to leave the entire set outside until fall.
The inflation pipe has holes in it that stops over inflation - they're on the bit that screws into the pump. You shouldn't be able to over inflate. I have even put my fingers over the holes to get an extra bit of pressure, but wouldn't necessarily recommend this! My pump sits on a south-facing patio in direct sunlight and exposed to the rain. I've never had any probs. I leave mine out 6--8 months a year. You need to do what you're comfortable doing and it's an expensive bit of kit to mistreat, but the pump appears quite well weatherproofed.
Can this particular model work on a 120v connection (plug and play) or does it require 220v since it has those water jets? (Most of these blow-up tubs don’t have that, they only have the air bubble jets). On most of the 110/120 models you can’t do heat and bubbles simultaneously. Is this one like that? Thanks
The only similarity to an inflatable tub and an acrylic one is the amount of water stored and the temperature. Initial costs are dramatic, but that's to do with materials. All an inflatable tub is doing is making bubbles, whereas a hot tub offers water therapy, with multiple jet, different types of jets depending on where you sit. Plus, a tub has seats which are very comfortable Running costs, an inflatable has no insulation, so expect to pay between 3x and 6x as much in running costs. Longevity, with all the care in the work I have seen inflatables left without air in stuck in the corner of a garden, they are so prone to punctures it's untrue, with the sun light destroys the plastic. So all in all, inflatable, cheap quick fix, but a spa is a long term investment.
Inflatable hot tubs are meant to be a cheaper option to an actual hot tub. If a regular hot tub was cheap then everyone would be getting one but a good one like you explained cost multiple thousands of dollars. And most people don't have that much money for a hot tub to be fair. And also if it's not a permanent location it's a hell of a lot easier to move than a real one.
Seems these are ALWAYS out of stock here in America! How's it working now a days? Worth the wait/money? I definitely want a portable with water jets and seems this is the best bet.

Hi Adam, great video. I have had my Hydrojet for a couple of years now and it has started frazzling power sockets and the fuses in the moulded plug as well. Does this sound like an electrical fault with the pump? It never did this before. Where do you plug yours in?
The consumer box should trip before the plug. Sounds like the pump and heater are asking for more amps than the circuit can provide, could be faulty electrics as they are designed as plug and play 13amp supply.
Hi Adam. With reference to the timer function, the instruction manual is terrible and does not describe a thing about its operational. If you search UA-cam there is an official lay z Spa video about the timer but it doesn't talk you though the operation process, it just has music playing in the background. There was another another video but that was useless as well, they explain nothing. Then when I read all the comments, it seems know one else has figured it out either. Would you mind explaining this in layman terms for me and everyone else that has the same question. Or even better, do a quick demo video. I think a 'how to video' would be extremely helpful and popular, I'm sure it would get thousands of hits. Thanks again for all your exceptionally helpful videos. Just received mine, is set up and filling! A few questions please as yes, the manual and website are terrible IMO: 1. Once filled, and the desired temperature of 102 degrees Fahrenheit is entered, do you just put the top on and let it go for 24 hours? 2. Once 102 is hit, does it know to turn off? 3. Did you add any type of chemical/chlorine to the water prior to first using the unit? 4. How often is that necessary (considering 1-2 times a week use)? 5. Do you have to drain the unit to change/clean the filters? Thank you!
1. It's a personal choice. We use ours once or twice week - typically in the afternoon or evening. So, we let it cool down and only turn it on to heat in the morning of a day we plan to use it. You could keep it going all the time, but I imagine it will use a lot of electricity.

Hosh11 glad you like the review. No, the pump does not have adjustable feet. Because mine is on a slight slope I had to wedge up the back of the pump to get the alignment right with the hot tub. You’ll be fine if on a flat surface.
Adam, the lining which produces the bubbles where the holes are has come away slightly and I need to fix it, it needs gluing and patching but what glue do you recommend please there are so many???

Darren Warwick you need to turn the pump off yourself once inflated. There are some vents around the pipe that should reduce chance of over inflation. You want it to be fairly firm and any big creases to disappear.
Brooke Watson I waited until it was full, although some say to put a little chlorine in when half full. Once full use a test strip to see what you need to add.
Hi Adam, I’ve just recently purchased the same unit. Can you advise how noisy exactly the unit is? (Both when jets are running and just ticking over) is there any way to reduce noise levels during operation?
When the pump is heating or with the filter on, there is a 'buzz' that comes from the pump it's not very loud and the noise doesn't travel very far. Nothing that should bother you or nearby neighbours if left on 24/7. When the hydro jets are used, there is much more noise from both the pump and the sound of the water itself. It's quite noticeable and will be heard by people nearby, but not too offensive. I use the jets the most as often have music playing in the garden and can still hear the music over the jets. It's easy to talk without shouting too. The bubbles are by far the noisiest. The pump makes a noise like a vacuum cleaner and the water is quite noisy as well. It's impossible to listen to music with the bubbles on (unless you have the music really, really loud) and you have to raise your voice to speak to others in the tub. I suspect close-by neighbours might get annoyed if you use the bubbles a lot. No idea on exact dB levels, but the above should give a guide.
When inflating, it's VERY noisy, like a loud vacuum (because it IS a vacuum). When it's plugged into the spa, the air bubbles are a bit quieter but still noisier than the hydro jets. The hydro jets are no louder than a typical refrigerative aircon unit. So if your aircon running doesn't annoy your neighbours, your spa's hydrojets certainly won't.
Hi Adam! Totally perfect the spa but i have 2 technical questions. The foam bottom rises a little when I turn on the airjets. As if there is a bubble underneath. There are 3 connections for the pump box. Above it is some sort of round grill on the outside of the spa. Water flows out of there when using the pump or air jets. If I only turn on the hydro jets, this stops. Does this sound familiar to you? I do not understand.
I'm not sure of exact pressure. This spa is designed to be inflated using the supplied pump. The valve has a kind of self regulating outlet so means you can't overinflated.
I can’t find lay z spa in the US …. The other models I’ve found with jets… and bubbles … they can’t function at the same time … where can I buy this model.. TIA
I’ve emptied the water in mine and cleaned now, now the main unit won’t line up with pumps on the hydro net, their about 2 inches off. Has anyone had this problem?
Julian Stumm There isn't a set period you need to wait before using your hot tub after a shock treatment, however, it is essential to test the water to ensure the chlorine levels are safe. Recommendations vary with ranges between 20 minutes and 24 hours. Please take a look at my other video for using hot tub chemicals for more details.
Yeah, there is mixed information depending where you look. I prefer to add chlorine once the water has heated to at least 20 degrees, and other places say add straight away. I think there’s probably a degree of flexibility.

The air jets are a bit noisy, yes. It's a little hard to hold a conversation when sat in the tub. However, the hydrojets are much quieter and more relaxing. The heating/filter noise is just a low hum.
Need some advice please, my levels have been fine but now I'm noticing like a brown scum mark on the sides, I make sure everyone showers before use but I have noticed my ph level is yellow, would this mean too much/ or too little is in the hot tub and would this cause the marks? Many thanks
I've had the testing strips a number of years and think they maybe out of date so giving me a false reading, when the ph is yellow on strip it's telling me to top ph level up but tbh I think it's too much in, causing the brown stuff, hopefully by ph reducer I may see a change and new tests are recuired I think

Hi I've recently ordered a lay z spa and just wondering is it quite simple for the chemical treatment and the balance of it all and do you keep the pump running 24/7?
Matt Yes, the treatment and balance is fairly straightforward. I find a float dispenser covers the chlorine easily and it’s the PH plus I have to keep adding. It’ll depend on your local water hardness. In terms of the pump, I only use when heating the water to use the tub so it often goes days at time without running.
I've only had mine up for a couple of months now, and it appears fine in direct sunlight. Yes, will put mine away for winter - don't think it would do it much good if it froze up.

liam9k it doesn’t drop much (if at all) on mine. Something to keep an eye on. If it drops again then you have a leak.
Does the bottom of it inflate any or are you just sitting on the ground?
It's not inflated. The bottom is made of foam and is comfortable to sit on, but height-wise it's the same as the floor.
Adam, can you please tell me if the filter coupling should have an o ring because we cannot stop it from leaking

That sounds quite bad and might be an internal leak. Probably worth a call to Lay Z Spa customer services and see if they can help.

That insulation mat is very thin I would've expected something more thicker?? Was it included or an extra?
The blue square mats were extras. The 'bubble wrap' style one came with it.

The pipe that inflates the tub has holes in it to stop over inflation. Just keep going until the pressure won't increase.

Hi Adam, great video. I have had my Hydrojet for a couple of years now and it has started frazzling power sockets and the fuses in the moulded plug as well. Does this sound like an electrical fault with the pump? It never did this before. Where do you plug yours in?
Pete Henning sorry, not sure. It certainly sounds like it to me, but I’m no electrician.
The consumer box should trip before the plug. Sounds like the pump and heater are asking for more amps than the circuit can provide, could be faulty electrics as they are designed as plug and play 13amp supply.
Hi Adam. With reference to the timer function, the instruction manual is terrible and does not describe a thing about its operational.
If you search UA-cam there is an official lay z Spa video about the timer but it doesn't talk you though the operation process, it just has music playing in the background. There was another another video but that was useless as well, they explain nothing. Then when I read all the comments, it seems know one else has figured it out either.
Would you mind explaining this in layman terms for me and everyone else that has the same question. Or even better, do a quick demo video.
I think a 'how to video' would be extremely helpful and popular, I'm sure it would get thousands of hits.

Just received mine, is set up and filling! A few questions please as yes, the manual and website are terrible IMO:
1. Once filled, and the desired temperature of 102 degrees Fahrenheit is entered, do you just put the top on and let it go for 24 hours?
2. Once 102 is hit, does it know to turn off?
3. Did you add any type of chemical/chlorine to the water prior to first using the unit?
4. How often is that necessary (considering 1-2 times a week use)?
5. Do you have to drain the unit to change/clean the filters?

OK. Quite a few questions. I'll break it down:
1. It's a personal choice. We use ours once or twice week - typically in the afternoon or evening. So, we let it cool down and only turn it on to heat in the morning of a day we plan to use it. You could keep it going all the time, but I imagine it will use a lot of electricity.
2. Yes, it should maintain the temperature you set using the control.
3. I 'shocked' the water with chlorine when first filled. See my other video on how to use hot tub chemicals. ua-cam.com/video/ityG_ipC_gw/v-deo.html
4. It depends on your water. I would suggest testing the water daily or every other day. Again, watch my other video ua-cam.com/video/ityG_ipC_gw/v-deo.html

Hosh11 glad you like the review. No, the pump does not have adjustable feet. Because mine is on a slight slope I had to wedge up the back of the pump to get the alignment right with the hot tub. You’ll be fine if on a flat surface.
Adam, the lining which produces the bubbles where the holes are has come away slightly and I need to fix it, it needs gluing and patching but what glue do you recommend please there are so many???

Darren Warwick you need to turn the pump off yourself once inflated. There are some vents around the pipe that should reduce chance of over inflation. You want it to be fairly firm and any big creases to disappear.

Brooke Watson I waited until it was full, although some say to put a little chlorine in when half full. Once full use a test strip to see what you need to add.
Brooke Watson the chemicals dissolve better if the water temp is at least 20 degrees Celsius. Otherwise mix with hot water before adding to tub.

Brooke Watson don’t think you’ll break it by getting it wrong. Just get them balanced as best you can before getting in it.
Hi Adam, I’ve just recently purchased the same unit. Can you advise how noisy exactly the unit is? (Both when jets are running and just ticking over) is there any way to reduce noise levels during operation?
When the pump is heating or with the filter on, there is a 'buzz' that comes from the pump it's not very loud and the noise doesn't travel very far. Nothing that should bother you or nearby neighbours if left on 24/7.
When the hydro jets are used, there is much more noise from both the pump and the sound of the water itself. It's quite noticeable and will be heard by people nearby, but not too offensive. I use the jets the most as often have music playing in the garden and can still hear the music over the jets. It's easy to talk without shouting too.
The bubbles are by far the noisiest. The pump makes a noise like a vacuum cleaner and the water is quite noisy as well. It's impossible to listen to music with the bubbles on (unless you have the music really, really loud) and you have to raise your voice to speak to others in the tub. I suspect close-by neighbours might get annoyed if you use the bubbles a lot.
No idea on exact dB levels, but the above should give a guide.
When inflating, it's VERY noisy, like a loud vacuum (because it IS a vacuum). When it's plugged into the spa, the air bubbles are a bit quieter but still noisier than the hydro jets. The hydro jets are no louder than a typical refrigerative aircon unit. So if your aircon running doesn't annoy your neighbours, your spa's hydrojets certainly won't.
Hi Adam! Totally perfect the spa but i have 2 technical questions. The foam bottom rises a little when I turn on the airjets. As if there is a bubble underneath.
There are 3 connections for the pump box. Above it is some sort of round grill on the outside of the spa. Water flows out of there when using the pump or air jets. If I only turn on the hydro jets, this stops.
Does this sound familiar to you? I do not understand.

I'm not sure of exact pressure. This spa is designed to be inflated using the supplied pump. The valve has a kind of self regulating outlet so means you can't overinflated.

I’ve emptied the water in mine and cleaned now, now the main unit won’t line up with pumps on the hydro net, their about 2 inches off. Has anyone had this problem?

I use my 10L camplux propane heater to super heat the water and keep it hot while the cover is off 🔥🔥🥵🥵🥵 👍

No mention of the shock dosing that needs to be done when the pool is half filled, and left for 24 hours!
Julian Stumm There isn't a set period you need to wait before using your hot tub after a shock treatment, however, it is essential to test the water to ensure the chlorine levels are safe. Recommendations vary with ranges between 20 minutes and 24 hours. Please take a look at my other video for using hot tub chemicals for more details.

Yeah, there is mixed information depending where you look. I prefer to add chlorine once the water has heated to at least 20 degrees, and other places say add straight away. I think there’s probably a degree of flexibility.

Great video apart from when you filled the tub up you didn’t show us what buttons you pressed to heat the water up and for how long.
The heater button is the one that looks a bit like a fire. It increases the temperature by approximately 2 degrees C per hour. Hope that helps.

The air jets are a bit noisy, yes. It's a little hard to hold a conversation when sat in the tub. However, the hydrojets are much quieter and more relaxing. The heating/filter noise is just a low hum.
does it run on 220 or 110?

Need some advice please, my levels have been fine but now I'm noticing like a brown scum mark on the sides, I make sure everyone showers before use but I have noticed my ph level is yellow, would this mean too much/ or too little is in the hot tub and would this cause the marks?

I've had the testing strips a number of years and think they maybe out of date so giving me a false reading, when the ph is yellow on strip it's telling me to top ph level up but tbh I think it's too much in, causing the brown stuff, hopefully by ph reducer I may see a change and new tests are recuired I think

Hi I've recently ordered a lay z spa and just wondering is it quite simple for the chemical treatment and the balance of it all and do you keep the pump running 24/7?
Matt Yes, the treatment and balance is fairly straightforward. I find a float dispenser covers the chlorine easily and it’s the PH plus I have to keep adding. It’ll depend on your local water hardness. In terms of the pump, I only use when heating the water to use the tub so it often goes days at time without running.
