- Mirror's Edge, glitchless in 37 min 38 sec (40 min 23 sec including loads). It took 5 months and 195 segments to complete.

Some things could have been better - a better wallboost occasionally and tighter movement in areas. Don't be too harsh, this was a huge project and I'm just one guy, not an entire community. I didn't have the motivation to grind out segments to absolute perfection :D
Everything was recorded with the dialogue and music off. I manually edited all of it into the project in post-production. This took about a week of continuous editing. Used a billion keyframes to balance audio when Merc was speaking. Also had to simulate surround sound for a lot of enemy dialogue as I moved the camera, which meant that audio sources would change direction.
Voetiem recorded the infinite wallclimb in Atrium, and BluMage recorded the alt climb to speedvault in Stormdrains. Huge thanks to those guys.
Thanks to Nikos for making the thumbnail picture. Except for the Mirror's Edge title/logo - that belongs to DICE and EA obviously :D

Strats omitted (mostly for good reasons):
9:12 Stormdrains Exit - Coiling onto platforms during Chimp's climb method --- Forgot coiling was possible. Would be huge hassle to rerecord.
10:56 Chase - Wallclimb sidestep over barbed wire (1.2 sec) --- Was found after I finished recording Chase. Didn't rerecord because I'd need to reload Chase after every failed attempt so Jacknife would reset his position; I wanted him on screen for consistency. Huge hassle. Plus, setting up the strat up from the previous strat was insanely difficult and would take a ton of retries.
12:15 Burfield - Faster speedvault method before first red door (0.2 sec) --- Wouldn't really be able to line it up properly after the pole boost.
15:01 Cranes - Death abuse (1 sec) --- Found it after I finished the segment. Upon respawning, the helicopter spawns too, so I would have to rerecord the entire cranes segment just to have the helicopter in the background.
15:25 Cranes - Roll cancel from landing on red platform cable (1 sec) --- Way too annoying to get. Originally decided not to bother with it. Came back later and tried to rerecord that segment, but still couldn't get a good landing that preserved some momentum.
22:20 New Eden - Wallboost before pipe climb (0.0 sec) --- Literally exactly the same as sidejumping the gap.
23:01 New Eden - Wallclimb sidestep wallboost over barbed wire (0.75 sec) --- Found this too late as I was editing the dialogue and music in. Would have to splice before the ziplines and do the entire new eden stretch again anyway.
23:54 New Eden - Drop kick avoid from vent fall collision before mall (0.0 sec) --- Not even worth bothering.
27:26 PK Training - Fancy strat before the stairs (0.05 sec) --- Was lazy. Decided not to bother for like 2-3 frames of time save.
32:13 Celeste Chase - Double boost to rail vault before zipline (0.2 sec) --- Decided not to bother with this finnicky strat because I'd have to restart the chase after every failed attempt, since I needed Celeste's footstep audio to be consistent as she was behind me.

you have such a strong willpower just to manage to finish this project, which keeps blowing me away every few seconds!

I've always loved this game since it came out, but the speed running community gives it new breath with every run.
to right its the speedrunners that make this game what it is, also I just realised that strat was in hype strats 1 not 2! As well as a clip from another skilled runner hekigen :D so that was awesome to rewatch!
He used reaction time to do it in the clip I thought it was the same from this but obviously not

then, what is this technic with the wall climb to cover great jumps ? what is it called, how does that work, is it doable on consol ?

Run parallel to a wall and then wallclimb sidejump.
I don't know the name, so let's call it wallclimb-sidejump-boost
It doesn't requires the mousewheel, so it could be possible on consle.
no name for it, its just wallclimb sidestep. Its also an old mechanic that was overlooked till now. It is a good replacement for KG since it gives you 35 speed+height+ you can wallboost sometimes after it aswell. You can do every OOB skip with wallclimb sidesteps. I might make a tutorial and ill also try on controller to see if its consistent.
BluMage it works but not as much as on pc. so I can't reach the edge of the wall. it might be usefull but it'll need some research.

I’ve never understood the fine line of the “kick glitch” because I know in the glitch less category, they don’t use the kick for the momentum thing but they use it to avoid hard falls. Where is the line? And who draws it??

Because we can simply jump to that place from the slide area. DICE intentionally made it playable.

I'm pretty sure that was a kickglitch and out of bounds at 5:00. Change my mind, but that is how it appears to a cassual like me
It's a wall kick without a jump. You can drop out of kick animations and the community deemed it not a glitch because you aren't pressing anything after the kick. Also it looks out of bounds, but you can actually reach that area from another place.
@@TheReq If it applies to everyone I guess it's fair game, but it certainly looks as if the kick you perform after the wallrun does something because I die when trying. Maybe I should play ME again, it's been years since I last played this beauty. The reason I pointed it out was because of the roast at the GDQ where BlackbeltGinganinja got roasted (most of it was the guy in the back being a dick, but this was one of the more concerning things)

Where are there information to do the sideway wallclimb before the side jump. You used (abused ^^) this technic everywhere but I don't find an explaination for how to do it. I'd like to try it.

When? I make sure to touch the ground again before jumping. So wall kick - land - normal jump. Did this through the whole run.

No, that's a fall height reset from a kick animation. A kickglitch would be jumping out of the kick animation, not dropping.

You did exactly 14 kick glitches
By kick glitch he meant the double jump. Using it to alter direction in the air didn't count.
It's not a kickglitch unless he jumps / does other movements off of the invisible wall. All the times he kicked he was either 1. Re-aligning 2. Gaining slight speed (like in Prologue) or 3. Dropping height
he used the kick glitch but didn't time it well on purpose

Naja, der springt total unnatürlich rum... können die nicht einfach mal ein Speedrun machen, wo keine Schlupflöcher ausgenutzt werden? Also in vielen Spielen ist Bunnyhopping einfach verboten, weils auch total dumm ist so zu spielen! Klar, hatter gut gespielt, erfordert Können, doch irgendwie komme ich mir als Zuschauer und als Spieler betrogen vor, wenn ich sehe, wie der aufeinmal mit 50 km/h über die Straße springt. Da ist doch glitchless auch nur Augenwischerei, weil immernoch die reale Physik umgangen wird. Ob nun es zur Spielmechanik gehört oder nicht, es sieht im Ganzen einfach utopisch und richtig doof aus.

Es sieht auf einer Art fantastisch aus, wie du da durchrennst, jedoch, und ich glaube da musst du mir recht geben, niemand kann die Gravitation außer Kraft setzen in dem er, wie bei 4:59 , in die Luft tritt und sich nicht mal mit Abrollen bei der Erdanziehungskraft entschuldigt ;-)
Natürlich, in diesem Video geschieht alles gesetzesgemäß der Physik von Mirrors Edge. Prinzipiell kann ich, und auch kein anderer, dir wirklich einen Vorwurf machen.
Es ist jedoch aber ernüchternd für mich Mirrors Edge weiter zu spielen, und nach Perfektion zu streben, mit der Erkenntnis, dass alles darauf hinausläuft unmenschliche Bewegungen auszuführen.

SirJools87 klar, Logo ich will auch so schnell wie req sein obwohl es fragwürdig aussieht. Aber das ist ein ziemlich befreiendes Gefühl so schnell, so weit, und geschmeidig zu fliegen, springen und rennen und perfekt zu reagieren damit man überall gerade durch kommt.
SirJools87 bei mirrors egde muss man Todes suchten um so gut wie req zu sein. Nur ist es eine Sucht weil das Spiel zu Anfang echt lahm wirkt du aber aufeinmal ihn siehst und denkst ok so habe ich das noch garnicht gesehen. Ich war überwältigt muss ich zugeben ich renn Wien lahmer penner zu Anfang und sehe req und wusste, will auch :D das ist mit keinem spiderman 2 vergleichbar den um so zu sein wie req muss man es echt draufhaben und übel analysieren.ich will eig unbedingt xbox speedrun welt rekord aber OMG
