The problem with see-through (acrylic or glass) furniture is that you will constantly have to clean it in order for it to look good.

I have a coffee table with a glass section and it’s SUCH a pain to clean! So an all glass or acrylic table is NOT appealing to me! It would require constant maintenance to keep clean

Transparent furniture is one of the best ways to showcase your pet’s nose prints, dust and fingerprints. Also, acrylic chairs will eventually develop fissures and cracks. I weigh 107 lbs and my chairs were starting to crack in less than two weeks. Food for thought.

I felt relieved that I can improve the look of my house with changes I can make without spending a lot since I am retired and on a fixed income. Thank you so much , you have helped me even with your previous videos more than you ever know. More power to you and take care

That’s actually a normal size for a family home with kids in Germany. It wouldn’t be considered small.

    • @rmcar549
      @rmcar549 Рік тому +1

@@claudiakarl7888 That's very interesting to me as I'm curious about housing and home trends in other countries. In US it's considered a rather small size home. I have a home that's 1400 sq feet and have 3 teenage sons, myself and partner (plus a daughter who lives there only part of the time). While there's enough bedrooms for everyone, it often feels crowded but I don't know whether it actually is or not. We previously lived in a 2200 sq foot home and it was way more comfortable. People often comment that my home is very small and I always just assumed it was but maybe not in everyone else's eyes lol.

I couldn't agree more that translucent furniture makers your space look bigger, but the down side is they require constant cleaning as finger prints seem to appear without being touched. Thanks for sharing!

I recently implemented floor to ceiling and wall to wall curtains in the same colour as our walls and it looked amazing. Our bedroom looks huge and so luxe. Now I need to look at large wall art for our living room. I’m a little worried about finding the right piece with a neutral aesthetic but I’m up for a challenge.

Kristen, so much of what you suggest for small spaces is spot on! I took the backing off my bookshelves and purchased a large rattan chair with slats so the wall behind them could be seen. This really helped to give my living room a larger look. Can't wait to implement the pocket door for my laundry/powder room! I wish the original builder had thought to do this.....

    1. Match the colour of the curtains to the wall color
    2. Implement pocket doors or barn doors (any kind of sliding door)
    3. Transparent furniture.
    4. Lighting (atleast 3 lights).
    5. Large scale flooring.
    6. Large scale patterned rugs.
    7. Large wall art or paintings.
    8. Vertical storage

Great video, Kristen! Thank you so much for structuring the content so well, and for showing examples. The first tips I will implement are matching the colour of the curtains to the wall colour, then hanging them very high, and also buying 2 pairs of panels in order to cover the space between the sides of each window and the wall. Have a wonderful week! Can´t wait for your next posting 😊❣

I have downsized to a smaller house with a living room, dining room combo. Could I do a photo/art wall along the whole length? would that be too crowded? I dont know how to start and end a wall that doesnt end lol. If that makes sense? A comment or links would be great. Thank you
