I wonder how many people opened up pawn shops after watching pawn stars for a while and expected to make huge profits on amazing historical finds? It's more like "how much can I get for this vcr? It includes the original remote."
Gamer Daily I will gladly accept your worthless money
and me too
lmfao !
$30? Best I can do is $2
Lol
That medal has a lot of prestige behind it. It is the highest award for merit given to civilians/military members in Poland. Some real amazing people have been awarded it. Witold Pilecki was awarded it posthumously and he was a legend and certifiable badass. How many people have you heard about that purposely got themselves sent to Auschwitz, spent YEARS there, and then broke out and successfully escaped?
That's a great piece.
Well, not this one. This one was authorised by occupying forces and nobody sane in Poland would call the medal from that period a badge of honour
Tye real White Eagle Medal is super important, but the one from the partitions' period was given to Russia's pets - so some traitors would get it. No need to confuse two very different things: a hero medal for being a faithful son of our Fatherland vs this thing with the black eagle behind...
1:45 - queue Rick's evil laugh after realising he's ripped someone off
Dude he couldn't even contain his happiness he jusr starting laughing before the other guy could finish his sentence!
Rick's face is priceless when he tells him 30 to 40 grand
The guy who sold the metal to pawn stars for $6,000, bought it at a yard sale for 75 cents.
why 75 cent not a dollar ? interesting.
from someone who has experienced yard sales through my mom believe me that they attract the cheapest of the cheap. People will walk away over 25 cents. Something costs a dollar. they only want to pay 75 cents.
Austin Michael ^^true story
win win
@@AustinMichael I set up sometimes at flea markets and put a bronze viking ship replica model on the table just to see what would happen and a guy came up asked me what I would take for it and told him $2.00 knowing he did not know what he was looking at and sold it 2 days later for $275.
If someone brought that into the shop, Craig would've valued it at 12 grand, then Rick would've offered the owner 3 coat hangers and an old Pringles can for it.
+thagrammarnazi lol... craig bought it from rick at 40g + a meal... didn't tell how much he made from there.
Maybe 2 coat hangers but certainly not 3
+thagrammarnazi How old is the can of pringles ?
best i can do is 1
Israel Lopez! Lmao
Rick's usual cute laugh turned a really dark evil laugh at the end.
Bro he scored, who cares haha. The seller should have looked it up.. I mean, look at it, it's a beautiful little thing...
1:45 the "I just totally ripped that guy off" laughh
The guy made $6,000 bucks on a .75 cent investment. He could have made out better true, but he didn't do bad.
Zackery Baum yeah but, had he known the true value of the medal, selling it to a museum or collector could have made him double or even triple what he made by bringing it into a pawn shop. And a museum would have known the history of the piece unlike Rick, giving him a fairer price for it!
Being Polish, I can appreciate the historical value of this item.
Oh yeah for sure lol
+Jack Stawowczyk Cool. Looks like you can get one for 30 to 40 thousand dollars.
Lol Russia took over ur hood. Noobs.
Will Smokes Poland is the only country to invade Moscow learn history
Jack Stawowczyk “its not technically polish”
Alright buddy, 800 years of Polish history. Best I can do? $20.
+Revocane Actually the guy that sold this item was in a hurry leaving the country. Rick wanted to bring the expert to see it but the guy said he doesnt have time for that, its either 6000 or he leaves with it. Rick took a risk and bought it, i think the expert eventually paid 40 000$ for it and bought it for a customer of his.
Great find!
+Revocane It's not an easy item to sell, but since it is part of history I will give you $30 right now in cash, you really won't be able to sell it for more.
lmmfao
Wait, I need to call my expert in first.
+Revocane he paid 6 grand for it! and some one will buy it for 4 times that much who holds such things dear
What a beautiful gorgeous Medallion !
Rick would have had a very good idea. He has an incredible knowledge of history and you could see it was exceptional quality.
A beautiful piece. I wish I were rich so I could buy rare military pieces like this and build a museum so everyone could enjoy them.
As you can see .... 0:12 this medal consists of two parts: black - Russian and White - Polish. Poland was divided in1772,1793 & 1795 between 3 country .... (russia, prusia, austria)
The white part is the only Polish work
That evil laugh from Rick at the end lol
it was actually from a random guy who bought it in a garage store for 5 bucks or something, then sold it to rick for 6k
everybody won guys
ric lu not the guy who sold it for 5 bucks, that guy must never see this episode or he would probably do a bin laden
he bought it for 75 cents
Except Poland
Rob Cabrera - 😅
He bought it for 75¢.
I can't help wondering if it had been in the family for many years, or if some G.I. stole it when he was in Europe.
Sadly, American G.I.'s pilfered a lot of European treasures from people whose homes had already been ransacked by the Germans.
Rick is just amazing , he has a sixth sense, he knows business.
Seriously, that medallion really looks badass
Awesome medal and made a pretty penny on it too. Was fun to watch. Great video
That laugh at the end is iconic
That was so freaking beautiful.
Nice recap ✊🏾
Really intrigued by the history...that's crazy!
1:46 Rick literally laughing all the way to the bank.
Piekny medal. Cena tez niczego sobie...
“I took a shot in the dark”. Ya’ll already know Rick went “lemme give my buddy a call, he knows all about this stuff” and then walked back to his office, called the expert, described exactly what the seller had to get a price point that Rick could X5 his money, then gave the seller a lowball offer.
I like seeing Craig get excited over stuff.
Beautiful Piece Right There
For Poles: this eagle is double much more worth
You could tell that Rick's schnitzel was rising up when he heard the final verdict 😅😅😂😅
Does anyone know the music in the background??
Suddenly Poland becomes Rick's favourite country.
Rick always laughs instead of saying wow
😂
Beautiful medal!
The demonic laugh as it cuts to black
1:41 Rick almost ascended
Gorgeous piece of jewelry.
Go to 1:45 and turn the speed to 0.5
What’s the name of the musical at around 0.22 till 1.05 ?
Axl Rose and Mr. Brown got along famously.
I find it thrilling that the man take out a monocle after hearing 6000
Craig : 30 to 40 grand !!
Rick : (confused )
Craig : 30 to 40 thousand dollars !!!
Rick: 😂😂😂😂
Lol symbolic birds on seals and medals to me look like they ran into a window lol
Good old Rick, laughing about ripping someone off.
My great grandma’s husband have two from his two great great uncle... hard. To explain we displayed it in my cadet awards etc...
The guy really made a large buck.
Bought a Poland's highest civilian honour for just .75, gets 6k for it.
Garage sellers have been driving up the prices ever since..
Yeah Poland rules!!!!!!
+Konrad GT: Captingamer9000 It wasn't polish tho, it was Russian
+Konrad Materna Not according to history.... ;) Sorry - just had to. You're all right :3
+Konrad Materna no it got raped
+Konrad Materna I'm pretty sure you meant to say that Poland has been ruled by about everyone else.
Konrad Gets ruled**
Really attractive medal.
It was not Poland that was partioned, it was Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. But the eagle yeah it is Polish.
+Rokas Kybartas The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, or Republic of Both Nations, formally the Kingdom of Poland.
After constitution of 3rd may it was Poland. Lithuania became just a province
Poland was the dominant part of the Commonwealth. It was essentially the Polish Empire
Wow still amazed how somebody got it so cheap in a garage sale and brought it there for a huge amount of money
Ricks gut instinct payed off that time thats a big pay off the seller should have done there research
Craig Made at least 100k on this. The price for this medal is $147,000
What is that song in the background please help
I would never let Rick take a shot in the dark with anything I'm selling. he would have to call a buddy
Best way to secretly call an expert in and ell then to say the price is 10X lower
We do not beg for freedom, we fight for it.
0:55 music?
"30 to 40 Grand" Chum, "You have Old Grand candy?
I love polish history because I am polish
+gabriel glogowski ''' Hey man you said that Out-Loud?
+Joseph P buckley North-American I'm also American so I love American history to
Lol polish i forgot that you are a nation. You have been conquered so many times......
Half Polish here! Proud of it! 🇵🇱 🦅
No fajna jest ;)
I would never go that pawn shop to pawn anything
I really hope Rick call that person and at least gave them another 15 grand or at least 10 grand if it's worth 30 to 40 thousand and he only gave him $6,006 you shouldn't be able to rip people off.
I am from Poland and i got some polish medals 😃
It's on the flag now
This is a Congres Poland coat of arms in 1815-1859
I want to buy it where you guys located
i think he sold that one for 20k to 25k to someone looking for the medallion but already had the ribbon. i believe they both made money from the sale.
Business is business. They both agreed on that price.
The hoarders in these chats will nickel and dime for a single sale but lose out on exponential gain on other deals.
Don't fall in love people, time is money. Making a deal faster frees up your time to make 2 more.
I rather sell my item at 80% market value instantly than to wait around for the prime 100%+ customer.
Even tho the seller got low balled he did only pay 75 cents so i guess a win win for both parties
One day I will be at your shop to buy this. My name is Zack Bekoscke.
Why would someone sell a historic item
$$$$$.... I mean yeah is nice to have something that looks nice and is cool... but sometimes your in more need of money then you are of having something sitting around worth money and not using it
+Jaysin Williams because there is a market for them
+Jaysin Williams booze
+Jaysin Williams well simply if they want money for it and don't really care too much for the history behind it. Nothing against the piece but everyone likes their own type of history.
Im a sucker for russian, arab, asian, and even old indian historic items while couldn't care less for north american stuff. Just preference nothing against it.
+Jaysin Williams Money, the definition of humanity
I want this medallion so much!!!!!!!
1:33 at least give credit for the historical value of that item haha!!
He offered 6 thousand for a medal he knew nothing about? Should have called in Rebecca!
Anyone know what the background music / score is?
Darude - SandStorm
Snort
Is this metal polish
Well yes but actually no
if i ever went there, i’d not sell it just use it for advertising, i would NEVER let rick rip off like that
Im from Poland🤘
If I was Rick, getting a 35K medal for 6K... I'd be calling that person back up and breaking off another couple stacks for them. If the person who sold him that medal watched this, they're probably seething.
No, you wouldn't.
Poland rocks the casbah
Every time that make an offer when the expert is not around, they always screw the customer out of thousands. That's bad business
This expert make some mistake. Real White Eagle Medal was founded in 1705 by polish king August II Mocny.
technically it was german who was elected as a polish king:D August II Sas (this year some1 robbed hes museum and steal alot of kings jewelery in germany).
Now I want a Polish hot dog. Mmmmmmm snout... (Drool)
someone told me that polland couldn't qualify for water pollo as they didn't know how to get the horses to swim
Rick’s so evil his head should turn into a two headed black eagle
Where are the comments
I hope he gets a piece of that 30-40K.
I wonder what Russia meant to imply by the position of their eagle behind Poland's.
The real loser here is the guy who sold this medal in yard sale for 75 cents.
I brought the cup Judas drank out of at the last supper back in jesus' day and I had all the paperwork for it including autographs on the cup by the other 11 apostles. Rick offered me 50 dollars at first, then went to 150 as the most he could do. I passed. Sure enough some dude with holes in his hands broke in my house and stole the cup the very next day.
In other words rick did his usual and low balled the seller 6k when it's worth 30-40k seems fair
I love the dramatic sad music that plays in the background as the guy is explaing the sad history of Poland 😂😂😂
For a Pole it is worth as much as the whole world is worth
He's not stupid, he hasn't seen the Faberge sign
Good luck getting a license
Poland best
The guy who took the 6 grand 👁💧👄💧👁
That is a very high estimate, but I guess when you consider what Tiffany jewelry sells for it makes sense.
+steven majewski he actually gets close to that because a collector from poland offers to buy it and generally patriotism can call for a guy to pay more than value.
But I find their appraisal is more honest when directly dealing with the shop owners after the deal. Many of the experts tend to lowball in front of seller.
the guy that appraised it bought it right there for $32,000 i believe
It was incredible quality. The finest apart from Fabergé
O nie on jest nawet podwójny🤩
I want it
