Hello! Thanks for taking us along on this great adventure. The scenery is breathtaking, the calling of the loon in the far distance and the crackling of the fire. Great video.💞
Hi Sylvia, Glad to know you enjoyed it. We always love to hear (and even better see) loons. There is something so haunting and beautiful about their call. 🙏 Thank you for watching and take good care! Cheers! 😊
Hi Max, Indeed, some of the portages were challenging although this one was probably the nicest stretch, even if long. ‘Hope you are keeping well and staying warm. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Beautiful. Cannot wait for this winter to end and get back to the wild woods. I'm too much of a wimp to do the winter camping thing. Thanks again for a wonderful ride. Cheers from Montreal QC
Working through the footage from the fall makes us very eager for more canoe-friendly weather, too! Thank you for watching and happy to know you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Hi guys! Thanks for another wonderful video, I loved to see you making the Swedish Torch fire and also cooking 🤤 I've never tried hammock camping but I'd really love to some day 🙃 Take care and cheers!
Hola Maria! So glad to know you enjoyed the video. Hammock camping is wonderful but admittedly it it took us a few “hangs” (and a few rough nights!) to get it right. Now we can’t imagine any other way to be as comfortable in the summer! You’ll just have to come to Canada 🇨🇦 and we can show you! 😁Take good care & cheers!
I’m going to guess the mid-late September because you guys are further north, but maybe early October. Is there anything more perfect than a day filled with fall colors, blue sky, and the warmth of the sun shining on you? On a cloudy, very cold, winter day these videos sure help raise the spirit. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Andrew, You are right on - this was the end of September. Seemed chilly at the time but now that we are regularly in -20°C and lower, it it a sight for sore eyes on these winter days. Hope you are keeping well & warm! Thank you for watching. Cheers!
You know, you messed up at the beginning, dont you? You should had that bumbly bee air lift the canoe over for you! Ahhh... a Swede fire torch with discreet wood sections! Much easier to set a pot over the flames! I thot you were putting wood sticks in that stew at the end, but they did cook down well... Looked GOOD! God Bless! Jerry
Hi Jerry! Lol - Procuring such airlift services would have been quite the trick indeed… we will need to work on our negotiating skills! The thought definitely gave us a chuckle (if only!). It was a fun fire to cook on. Hadn’t thought of the “sticks” in the stew but now that you mention it it 😁… Thanks so much for watching and we always love hearing from you. Take good care and blessings to you as well!
Another beautifully chronicled part of an amazing adventure Dan. So peaceful and relaxing, especially for those of us who didn’t have to make a 2 1/2 K portage with a week’s worth of gear and a canoe on our shoulders. I must try Balsam tea sometime, have you ever tried Chaga Tea ? I’m sure with all the birches up there you should be able to find some. Always an enjoyable watch, thanks for sharing !
Good morning Don! The portages were lengthy on this trip but this section was a really nice stretch. Indeed, lots of birches around and we do make Chaga tea occasionally … but admittedly we prefer balsam. ‘Hope you are keeping well and staying warm. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
