The unmistakable whistle of a Triumph Triple. Love my 1050 sport but haven’t ridden anything else recently so can’t comment on the 900. Used to visit the factory a lot 10 years ago fixing the machines that manufactured the triple engines. They know how to make them. Solid, torquey and reliable. Looks like you both had a great time at the festival despite the heat.
They do. Mr Bloor has done a fine job resurrecting the company. A UK brand we can be proud of. Thank you, well anything is possible now and I’ll certainly say hi if I bump into you. TBH gliding was my thing for 20 years and I’d like to dip my toe into that sport again. I’m well known to the management there for reasons not easily explained here but they are a wonderful bunch of people. There’s a cafe too, open to the public which provides great viewing on decent flying days. But for now, way too expensive for me so I shall stick to my Tiger to keep me entertained through the winter months. Be safe Courtney and all the best to both of you 😊
Hello, from the feeling you shared with your video about the green laning session with Lucia, I guess you should have a lot of fun and enjoyment riding off-road on an ADV motorcycle like the Tiger 900 Rally pro and apparently you already have some good ones. off-road driving skills. Currently I ride regularly on a Tiger 800 (while waiting for the new T900 Rally pro 2024!) on the French TET with friends on GS1250, KTM 890, or FS850. A full day or several days of off-road driving with bivouac stuff is something to do with friends. The goal is to never ride alone because sometimes even for men, it is not easy to recover the bike after a fall, because of the ground, the angle of fall, or you can be stuck under your bike . And it's also helpful to keep the energy up for the day and avoid back pain. Or you could also have depression. Plus, it's also nice to sometimes swap the leader on the trail because you just want to enjoy the ride and not be focused all day on the GPS track! Hope to see you one day on the French TET.
Hi Courtney, I think adventure bikes are chosen mainly for the ergonomics rather than off road ability, I know me personally being 66 years old having many different sorts of bikes over the years my last three bikes have been the big GS's current one being a 1250 GS ADV TE. It's just ridiculously comfortable with the ability to go virtually anywhere, and being retired I tour a lot, and will continue to do so for as long as possible. By the way first time to your channel enjoyed it. Thank you.
Thanks Stephen for checking out the video 😊 I agree with you - for touring I think I’d have the tiger 900 myself too. I do wish I could also take it down the trails - I suppose it would make it better value for money! But still - a fantastic bike and I’m missing it now it’s not here!
I had tickets for the last year but having too much work rebuilding my boat and very little time, I couldn't leave it and take 4 days off. But, I already have tickets for the next one, so maybe I will see you there :)
@@CourtneyScarlettMoto great, hopefully we both see you there! Thanks I love Portugal, I can't wait to do some off roading riding there, different to green laning in the UK and motocross in Thailand - thinking about getting an adventure bike (and trailer) but can't decide
@eddiejaoude oh no way! I was in Portugal a few weeks ago and was meant to be off roading the BMW (my latest videos in Portugal) but unfortunately the airline lost my baggage so I could only do the road ride! But would love to go back and do off road there, it looked amazing. Let me know how you get on! And hopefully see you at ABR 😊👍🏻
@@CourtneyScarlettMoto oh no that is so unfortunate about your baggage. Let us know when you come back, we are usually there spring and autumn, then summer in the UK (plus winter in Thailand)
Good effort, interesting angle on the Brit Adv scene. See that Itchy Boots Noraly was there! Owned a Rally Pro in Perth OZ for 3 years now and love it. The Quick Shift gear change is fantastic but noticed you didn't use it on the road?
Nice vid! I've got an Africa Twin which I took round the full trail in 2022 and it was great. This year I was on something very different. Basically a 100kg cafe racer with a few mods. Did twice as many laps, including the TRF trail and bog sections, pottered past a good few big bikes, had zero crashes, wasn't completely knackered after. Lightweight is the fun way to go! Saying that, I'm on a Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, for a gravel tour in August. 😅
Haha that’s exactly what I mean! And I bet it was significantly easier being on a smaller bike - even when it’s not an off roader. I’m sure the tiger will do great on the gravel - hope you have a great time - sounds like a lot of fun 😊
@@CourtneyScarlettMoto so much easier. If you haven't tried it yet, get down to Devon for one of Nathan Millward's Postie Bike adventures. Turns out a CT125 or even an old CT110 is actually the real ultimate adventure bike. That's what put me onto little bikes. I posted a vid of my last trip, I think.
@@CourtneyScarlettMoto You are welcome a few ideas for you , an intro video to you and what got you into riding etc ... bikes you have owned and would like to own and why , trips you have done , trips you would like to do , future plans etc ... Its hard i suspect to keep the content coming if you have an everyday life but 5 - 10 minute videos talking about the subjects i mentioned and whatever else you can come up with could help keep your channel keep getting exposure and growing and getting those important likes, comments and subscribes 😊. Either way love the channel and look forward to your next video 😎🤙
There is no rule to what your adventure is. Thats for you to decide. I have had most kind of bikes over the years by now. My idea of adventure is to sit comfortably on the road and munch the miles and see the scenery. Explore different countrys or areas and push my body to take on more miles. I find the way everything is positioned on an adventure bike is perfect for this purpose.. I used to own a f800gsa and some would scoff that i didnt take it offroad and i put road tyres on it. By doing this i made it the tool i needed for the job. Ive now bought a Tiger 900 GT Pro which is even better on the road and i feel i have found my perfect match. Find your tool ;)
For long distance road riding and touring I completely agree with you - the Tiger 900 Rally Pro is fantastic (besides the seat 🤣) and if I’m honest, since the bikes gone back to Triumph I’ve really missed it!!
I really had no idea the level of riding the bigger off road trails were gonna be so agree not worth doing on a manufacturer bike! 😊 would be great to go back next year on an older and smaller bike to get a feel for the trails!
Hi, you should try if you haven't already a Ktm 890 adventure. I have one and it feels so light for a 890.. Weight distribution is low due to the saddlebag tank and does fill you with confidence off road.. I've just toured from Amsterdam to Bilbao on it camping along the way and it was perfect for the job. Off road it pays to have as light a bike as is possible but then you can suffer on the longer road trips in-between..
That’s exactly it isn’t it - what’s better for touring isn’t the easiest option for the harder off road stuff! Clearly we all need at least 2 motorcycles 🤣 Great recommendation on the KTM though and I’ve never ridden it so will definitely check that out - great to know how light it is. The tiger was fine weight wise while road riding but if it came into any trouble off road that’s where the weight would be a problem for me! You’re trip sounds epic though, glad you enjoyed it 😊
@@CourtneyScarlettMoto Yes everything is a compromise, tyre choice is always a lively topic where riders are always looking for the unicorn tyre which as in most things doesn't exist. Ah yes I’ve been bike shed many times - great place. Agree about the journey though! I used to commute into London by motorbike for work so I tend to avoid it these days! Riding to bike shed is probably the only exception 😂👍🏼
