Joker will remain a classic forever......
Nope. The Lighthouse will. Joker is a great film, but it's not unique or special enough. The Lighthouse will be remembered for pushing horror in a new direction.
Lars Olavsgaard lighthouse is great but most people don’t know that movie exist.
@@marcthefilmmaker4853 the same with The Shining
@@marcthefilmmaker4853 Dude I saw lighthouse,its great too.
@@larzguy3714 Lighthouse is good, had a great buildup for the finale but falls flat towards the end. While Joker remains consistent in pace with a great ending so its pretty obvious why one got nominated and the other didn't.
I love how Todd has remained so humble even after all his success! He deserves all the praise he gets! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
He is so cool!
For what? Weird ass freaken movie.
@@waldosordo5743 for creating a great movie and weird? Um yea it's a movie about the joker so of course it would be weird and disturbing
@@waldosordo5743 your ass is weird, man.
Waldo Sordo you obviously didn’t get the message in the movie.
Funny how GMA talked shit about how the movie "inspires violence" and now they got the phenomenal director Todd Phillips on the show😂😂. That aside, Todd, Joaquin and everyone that made this film deserve the praise and awards💚👏
Pay Attention Podcast Network your podcast sucks
Dude what if todd shot the anchor just like in the joker movie? Haha
GMA feared this awesome movie
This film will be a classic. Powerful. Deserving of every award. Thank you to Todd, Joaquin, and everyone involved for making such a haunting and beautiful work of art!
I’d say it’s really only deserving of best actor considering all the other better films this year
@@dantdt4693 definitely score, too.
Dantdt33-0 yeah this movie is overrated as fuck :/
One of the best movies I've ever watched.
@@LNLBD absolutely!
Todd Phillips is an absolute legend. I've never been this fanned over a director before, all his movies are legendary - The hangover trilogy, War Dogs, Due date, and now Joker.. Thank you for all these masterpieces!
"The audience turned up and it became their movie." I fucking love that.

@@StraightEdgeKnight19 hilarious but your opinion doesn't matter 11 Oscar nominations and a billion at the box office wrestling boy
Why do people forget Todd directed war dogs ? I loved that film
Same here, he's made many entertaining films.
Not sure why the focus for them is on the numbers, billion dollars or not, Joker was an exceptional character study of the past decade, with beautiful cinematography and brilliant acting by Joaquin. Again Oscars or not.. Joaquin deserves all the praise for his performance
Congratulations on your Oscar nominations, Todd! Thank you for making one of the best DC movies since The Dark Knight trilogy!
Surprising how well Juaquine Phoenix played Joker, without creating a persona offset, he did absolutely phenomenal!!!
Everybody loves the Jokers.
@The Krispy King but girls do idk why but they do
@@tomtay9013 I think it’s obvious, hm?
Movie of the year
@Samwise the Brave I haven't see it, but definitely the global impact around the world is superior for Joker.
I'm writing fron Chile 🇨🇱
@@nataliemunoz8600
Global impact doesn't necessarily mean anything . Do people consider star ears the GOD of cinema just because it's the most influencial movie of the 20th century?? No.
Movies are critiqued on story, dynamic and themes above all else. Jojo rabbit stomps joker .
@@a.d8509 I haven't seen it.
Time will tell which movie we will still be talking about in 10 years.
@@nataliemunoz8600
Lol people don't event talk about joker and only do because this blatant copy of taxi driver has a the DC logo on it and is called joker .
Even todd himself said so. This movie is literally only called joker to sell the premis to WB and so they would greenlight the project, they would only do so if it was related to one of their own IPs. Henceforth "joker" .
If this movie was called "athur" guaranteed it would be been forgotten opening weekend.
@@nataliemunoz8600
Also again, the iconic-ness of a movie alone doesn't determine it's quality. Again , look how popular and iconic avengers movies are . Does that mean they can even be mentioned in the same breath as godfather?
I had to pause the movie to watch interviews. It's so damn heavy. Joaquin Pheonix is so heartbreakingly good.
What about *A Clockwork Orange* ?? What about *Frenzy* ? These movies are way more violent compared to *Joker* ... enough to induce nightmares. And consider they were released 1971 and 1972.
Fr.
A Clockwork Orange felt too serious but totally awesome film.
Yeah, but they are old movies and they don't resonate with the present generation as much as Joker does.
@@SuperAvocadoo okay then ... *Kill Bill* *Pulp Fiction* How about *Fresh?* Then we have *Resevoir Dogs, The Last Seduction, Natural Born Killers, Casino.* I could go on throughout each of the decades starting with the 60s. The only reason Clockwork Orange and Frenzy don't resonate like Joker is because they are not the same type of stories as Joker was. But neither are the other movies I just mentioned, save *Fresh*. But violence is universal. That's what I'm talking about. Hence, in comparison, Joker is not as or more violent.
@@trenpher3450 Well, my point was that Joker feels like present day while you're watching it and tackles a problem in society that we have right now therefore it feels more relatable and depressing.
But you're right about there being other movies which are more violent than Joker.
We love Joker,we love you,Todd! Thank's for great movie!
Why is it great. Prove it if you know so much about film.
@@larzguy3714 they never said they knew anything about film, you just look very angry and nonsensical in this.
@@dominickdumovich9454 Explain what's so good about it
@@larzguy3714 once again you are completely clueless. Tell me once where i said the movie was good.

This year Oscar won a Joaquin award
Truly a brilliant film, with an amazing performance by Joaquin Phoenix. One of my most favorite actors.
True
Todd Phillips look like he could be Dr. House, he looks so much like Hugh Laurie...
the best movie with a stunning, fantastic Joachim.. He DESERVES to get the 11 Oscars, and so much more !
Joker is the best movie, Joaquin is a best
Todd is always humble and cool. With all the success of his comedy films and especially Joker you'd almost think he'd have at least a little bit off a chip on his shoulder. None, zero. He gets my respect.
It's beautiful and it's refreshing to see the media finally giving compliments to and celebrating this brilliant movie. It didn't deserve all the bad press it got on its release. I hope they do well at the Oscars especially for Phoenix's performance and Hildur's magnificent score.
Joaquin is one of the few heroes of my lifetime. Not only an amazing actor & intelligent person but one who has lent his time, influence and expertise to the crucial development of animal rights and awareness of animal cruelty and holocaust which is destroying our environment and our humanity. We need more leaders like him. You need to watch his most important film of all times: Dominion (he narrates) available on UA-cam, Netflix, etc. You will learn more than you can imagine about our horrendous world. You can watch it for free here:

Now o see why he wom the Oscar not Adam Driver. The whole time I thought Adam would win. Phoenix out fid him
Incredible actimg. I still think Afam Driver is good.Phoemix earned and deserve tje Oscar. I was soo touched ny his acceptance speech which made me cty. I forgot River Phoenix wss his brother
@@shandaabsar7739 Joaquin's Oscar speech was the finest since Cary Grant's honorary Oscar speech back in the early 70's (I think 1970). Though Cary's speech wasn't at all political, it was very profound as regards the value of art, and so visibly true to Cary's personal experience as an actor for fifty years of his life.
Joaquin's deeply felt experiences as a humanist, and lover of all life as well as the earth, itself are the elements which informed his speech's passion and depth of hope for the listeners, everywhere. He is now my favorite person in Hollywood, and tied as favorite actor with Al Pacino, whose performance In The Irishman was quite extraordinary (perhaps equal, though a smaller role to Joaquin's in the Joker).
Unfortunately Martin Scorsese did not possess so strong a humanist instinct as The Joker's director, or his film could have been significantly deeper an audience experience. He should have respected the book upon which the Irishman was based (I Heard You Paint Houses) and included the very rich material which explained, quite compassionately (humanistically) the origins of the central character's "cold hearted" capacity for murder. As it stands, the film leaves us to imagine that murderers are simply born that way, and there is nothing we can do as fellow humans to alter our societal cultivation of compassion. This was the deep flaw of the film, which I believe deprived it of the otherwise greater accolades it might have garnered (even more than it otherwise deservedly received) for the brilliant acting, and other production values. The potentially enriching over arching theme of humanism was not recognized (or at least included in his film), by Scorsese. A great shame, and loss for us all (including Scorsese)!
Wow thank you for sharing this with me
I still watch it every day. It empowered .me
Makes me want.to be a better human
Todd looks sad and tired here.. Maybe cuz of all that pointless noise around the movie and journalists
@Christoffer Boman I know he's always down to earth and calm but I've seen him on other conferences and interviews and he looked much more lively though he's still calm
Not pointless at all.
@@fannys941 yes it was pointless because all that talk about mass shootings was only gonna increase of that happening
The media should of just stfu.

Must be the best HQ/Movie art of all time
We need a movie like Joker for Lex Luthor and many other villains .
Notice how he cautiously speaks about the violence in the movie... he is afraid of the 'new age' criticism. The film in many ways, does celebrate violence. In fact, the ending says it all...

I thought the music for the stair dance scene was terrible - the trailer soundtrack had done that scene much more service - but that's not my specific point. I heard about all the outrage about them using that song - I guess the artist has been in prison for pedophilia or child porn or something terrible, and so there was a huge thing about using that music because people were afraid the artist was gonna make a profit off it. That's the same song EVERY SINGLE sports event I have ever been to has played - everyone in the world knows that song - why was there outrage for in in this movie but nobody says a thing when it plays at all sporting events ever?
È un po' disgustoso il modo in cui nelle tv americane ripetono alla nausea quanti soldi ha racimolato al botteghino un film, come se fosse il solo modo per misurarne il valore. Irrimediabilmente materialisti.
