If it's not the best, it's the 2nd best for sure, The Cincinnati Kid is the best poker movie to me, when Lancy turned that Jack of diamonds over, the look on everybody's face, Just classic, McQueen at his best
@@RobTheNotary The Sting, although a GREAT movie, isn't really a poker movie. There's the game on the train, but that's more of the "hook" to get Lonnegan trapped, but the movie isn't based on poker.
The $500 at 1:49 was a string bet “you’re the one that said it”…. “And five” …. The additional amount would not be be allowed. He threw in to call then went back and threw in a few more. I wouldn’t have allowed it (I am a dealer).
Jason robards... not the main star of the movie, just a supporting actor really...but wasn't he good...grabs your attention. you don't get any attention grabbing actors anymore..they're all too busy trying to look cool.
Who said Big Hand was superior? Some idiots have nothing better to do than make irrelevant comments. Just giving the correct name of the movie. That's all. Similar cast and "far superior" totally clueless response.
Best poker movie ever. Most of the screen time centers on one hand. After you see the end, you can re-watch and it's almost a different movie.

Great movie with a nice twist at the end.
jason robards was a very underrated actor
It's not the betting $100 with three twos, it's the calling a $500 raise.
Yep he was thinking big whale I need in this game.
Great movie. If you have this movie, Rounders and the Cincinnati Kid your have the trifecta of poker movies.
california split, 1974.
I have only seen bits and pieces of it on youtube but from I have seen you are correct. Add this to the list too.

@@clarky23 Two great movies. An actor in one and his wife in another. Both involved in high stakes poker games. Both movies with superb acting.

Yes Captain Obvious, that's exactly what he was thinking but you just had to excitedly yell it out like you're the only one who noticed it.
The all time favorite movie centered on gambling.
The Cincinnati Kid.
A Big Hand for the Little Lady 1966
I remember this film. Jason Robards rant at the start. If that isn't the mission statement of every serious gamer I don't know what is.
