I agree I have 25 MTO shoes from Vass, Carmina & Paul Parkman. Full Grain leather and Goodyear/Hand welt construction can only go so far and going farther than $1,000 U.S dollars is just paying for the name.
I worked for GA and I know a lot of brands contract out there manufacturing to companies in Italy. GA has their own for clothing, with some items made sometimes in Turkey, Poland (leathers, small percentage of range if at all.). Shoes though, heaps of Italian brands use one producer in Italy. Gucci is a brand well know to be made in Italy, but it's a Chinese factory in Italy, if that makes sense. There are others too. Then you have brands like Hermes and Loro Piana which are in their own field.
No way this os how they make every pair of shoe. LMAO! Like this it would take 10 hrs to make 10 shoes. Always impressed by these shoe making videos tough. Bit of an art.
I'm glad I have two pairs of carvela and I like them, showing that when I'm getting old I will not be scared of using a lot of money to buy something as I'm soon going to purchase Rolls Royce phantom EWB.
In Mexico they made shoes 100% hand made leather shoes 90% cheaper and the quality is way better I'm not a hater I love Italian shoes but you can get better quality for way cheap prices
listen, there's a factory in a small city near rovigo, in veneto as fiesso, that is specialized and produces the loafer and the moccassin for a lot of brands, including ferragamo and lv. i've been there few times because i'm a shoes designer and i had to visit the factory, and when i went there they were making these moccassins, now, i can't tell you the exact tannery that supplies louis vuitton because i do not even know, but i can ensure you that the leather is not of the highest quality..
@ Blossom Flower: Actually there are not rules or laws that prevent designers from calling themselves "couture" it's Haute Couture. There's a difference... Anyone/designer can say they are "couture" if they are making custom designs. It's calling designs/labels "Haute Couture" that fall under Paris and fashion industry standards. To "earn" the right to call products/a label Haute Couture you muct be a member of the Chambre syndicale de la Haute Couture and adhere to specific rules.
Just by watching this video, I could make a pattern and create this shoe at home. I don't know the exact formula they use to create those weird sole bottoms but the rest is fairly understandable.
Why are they so expensive? 1. Handmade by masters of their craft. 2. They're not made in china, or some other Asian country for pennies a day. 3. Made with the highest quality leather and jewelry pieces. 4. The brand name. 5. Demand. People are willing to pay the price. They should be around $300 in all fairness but people are willing to pay $700
Aidan Valentine and why do you think is that? It’s called reputation, gained through hundreds of years! That reason is why they can sell at those prices. They guarantee you a shoe that is gonna last all your life.
please can any one tell me the name of the machine in view, i mean which he uses to straighten the stichings and also to get the shoe smooother(that iron last heating machine)

This is how they make the first one or two to show managers and supervisors. Then it’s mass produced in factories exactly the same way as Nike and Adidas and even primark/H&M
They actualy make in serbia in city cal pancevo , lv,prada and gucci are made there , half of shoes they made there and than send it in italy , in itely they put a rest of shoes and label made in italu , -shoes wort 70 euros when they was built , why is seling for 600 euros and more , but thy are hand made so i dont know.
to be honest, i very much doubt all of this, i think this was made for the sake of making people think this is how its made. i watched a tv programme that showed very differently how all top brands create things etc. in india and places similar in big production especially glasses, some brands actually get different brand glasses prada LV in the same factory! u pay for the brand. i love LV gucci & especially louboutin. but you are paying for the brand. £150 for the shoes, £400 for the brand
I never knew how hand made these shoes were, this is great to see.
But how can a shoe be any less hand made? Machines can't just pump shoes out
qrayz 9up

great work I hope they are getting paid well.

95% because of the brand name

They are made for pennies a day in Romania
Oh, is Romania a city between Padua and Venice, in Italy? Good to know.
lol they don't last u a lifetime they last me as long as the nicer adidas or nike shoes and are pretty uncomfortable to be honest
Wonderful!
does each shoe come with a dust bag
please can any one tell me the name of the machine in view, i mean which he uses to straighten the stichings and also to get the shoe smooother(that iron last heating machine)
Bon travail je veux remercier 👌🌺
Great short film of making the shoes, certainly not the brand.
I think this is the process where size does matters..
奇麗な靴に仕上がってますね!

Believe it or not, not everybody uses chinese/asian labor forces for their products.
they need to show the plant that they have in south east asia, totally different.
Price?
You said an interesting information for me.
I'm new to this, but isn't that more of a Moccasin?
LV's canvas = vinyl ...
Taking about craftsmanship

@Silverjda If you really want something to be mad at them about, look into their lawsuit against Nadia Plesner.
