      Thanks!👍 It only took me about 9 years to change out the horrible mirrors that I put on 10 years ago. Lol!😂

    You need some loctite there brother

      I use locktite on most things, but these inserts are pot metal. I am afraid that if I use locktite, I'll bugger them up if I ever try to loosen them. 😂 I just check the tightness every so often.

    Good video. It's one thing parts looking good but if they are not functional and need to be they are pretty much worthless. I like the look of bar mirrors on a Sporty.

      Thank you! Yeah, I dealt with having to move my elbows around and tilt my head to use the old mirrors, for years! I should have done this swap along time ago!

      Thank you so much! Biggest thing though, is that they're actually useable! The old ones really weren't.

      @@motomattman1878 well that sucks 😮 Man I hate that, when we find something we might like but doesn't work like expected, sounds like my luck 😔

      Now that I have the bar-end mirrors on, I actually think they look better than the chrome ones that I replaced anyway! Lol!

    I know you have one inch adapters, but what is the inside of your bar? Mines is 7/8s but I don’t wanna risk getting 7/8s and needing one inch. How tight was the one inch adapter when you put it in?

    • @motomattman1878
      @motomattman1878  4 роки тому +2

      Mine are 1 inch. I think all Harley bars are 1 inch and metric bikes are 7/8 inch. The inserts in both sizes start small and expand as you tighten them. I hope this helps!👍🤘

      motomattman I was actually able to use the original mounts that came with it I just had to use the small one inside the big one, and then get it tight enough it fits into the handle bar and then tight it from there!

    Great video! wondering if you have a link to those mirrors? Also, what size are they? I found ones on amazon, but they are 3 " and that seems a bit small....

      The ones that I have are currently unavailable on Amazon, but they are 3" mirrors. I absolutely love them and the size feels just right. Thanks for watching 👍

    I wish I could do something to improve the useability of the mirrors on my bike.
    I've thought about bar-end mirrors, but they would look really odd on my sport-tourer. I often wonder if I could get some spacers machined up to 'move' the mount point of the existing mirrors out about an inch.
    Ride safe...

      I don't know! I've seen a lot of sportbikes with bar-end mirrors and they looked good! The reason I waited so long to put them on my Sportster, was that I thought of them as more of a sportbike thing! For the price, I'd go ahead and give them a try! Also, remember that all you would have to do is to pull out your existing bar-ends and pop them in. If you don't like how they look you could easily convert it back, without and damage. Just a thought.

      Mighty Beanstick I found machined mirror extensions on eBay for my FJ-09. Now I can actually see behind me 👍
