    Sometimes when I want to relax. Instead of listening to ambient white noise from Spotify. I put my 2019 MacBook Pro Touchbar under a bit of stress by opening up 1 Google Chrome browser and listen to the fan noise go wild. I sometimes sleep with it on. And then I remember one memory quite well which stands out particularly. It was back in the colder months of the winter in my homeland. I could not afford to pay the heating bill one month. So I ran a generator and thank goodness was able to heat the entire house off the heat dissipating from the MacBook Pro. My entire family was kept warm for months off the heat of the MacBook. We even cooked eggs off the top of it. Honestly there is no way it can be beaten.

    Very nice video! I was lucky enough to find a MBP 2017 15 inch Max spec for $150.00. The person I bought it from thought it was broke and even Apple told her the logic board was bad but all I had to do was reinstall the OS from a USB.

    In October I purchased a base model M2 Air and gifted my mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13 to a friend. I had upgraded the MBP as much as it could be upgraded (battery, RAM, SSD) and, considering its age, it performed really well. However, the only function I miss is the ability to run Windows on Boot Camp, something the M series chips still can't do, since I have some 32-bit .exe applications I still use regularly.

      Tbh that’s about the only reason I don’t want to dive into Apple silicon yet. I love the performance and efficiency of those chips. I don’t really need boot camp but it sure comes in handy once in awhile when certain apps won’t play nice with macOS lol.

I use it primarily in the architecture field and it's been a very capable machine, I plan on using it for a couple more years probably. Nothing wrong with Intel Mac's from just a few years ago. if in good condition they will still work great for a lot of people including professionals and can be had for a lot less money now depending on where you look. The growing trend now a days is if a peace of hardware is just a few years old it's instantly garbage/obsolete and useless. This simply isn't the case this video is living proof of that I honestly think there are some big UA-camr's/tech influencers out there that promote this "I have to have the latest and greatest stuff" to remain productive. If your older Mac works great and isn't hindering your workflow/creativity there is no need to upgrade. Of course if you have the budget then by all means anyone can buy what you want....

  • @erikthechosenone
    @erikthechosenone Рік тому +13

    As for me, I just purchased a 2019 MBP 16”. It has 32gb of RAM and 512-SSD. It is a core i7, not the i9. It arrives next week and it cost me $950. I could have easily got the m1/m2 for cheaper. Hence it’s also my first MacBook I ever owned. I wanted the starlight M2 soooo bad. Then I was looking at the 2015 MBP, but settled for the 2019.
    The reason why I didn’t buy it. Was, because I’m not going to settle for a 13 inch screen. My older windows laptop which is a “Dell” is 15.4-16 inches. I’m not going to settle for a top of the line laptop. Just, because it’s the newest product.
    For me, I bought it, because it’s an affordable 16 inch laptop, inexpensive and it still runs smoothly. Just, because there is a better version out there. Does not mean that the older generation laptops are horrible (except for the 2017 macbook) the 2012 MacBook is running strong still, the 2015 is still a really nice option too.

    • @erikthechosenone
      @erikthechosenone 11 місяців тому +2

      @@nicholasbentley5028 I am sorry for the late reply lmaooo. I am IN LOVE with my MacBook. Apple made it so much easier just using a laptop, because I had windows laptop for over 3 years and I really did not know how to use a PC still. But this MacBook, mannn. It is just sooo smooth. I love the touch bar functionality too! I do not know why people hated on it so much? Maybe, because there was no physical "escape" button. But on this model it has one. The touch bar is really great, because you can customize it. Like switch out different buttons and functions and move the buttons around to where you want them. If I want to lower or increase the brightness or the sound. I have two options of just tapping it like a physical key. Or sliding my finger. Also I love how when you type there are word suggestions that pop up that you can click as if you were texting on a phone. The cool thing is that when you type in a certain word, the emoji appears on the touch bar. As well as the emoji function itself. You can scroll the emoji's on the touch bar and it is the coolest thing ever. I have never seen anything like it before!!! Then the backlit keyboard is just fire, my old laptop did not have it. The OS of this MacBook is just great. It is just smooth like when you open and close a window or when you can put windows side by side. Even when I type on my MacBook , maybe because I got the 16" so it works well with my long fingers, but man. I am having a blast typing on this all the time. I do not have to be doing anything important. It just feels so smooth and easier typing on this, than a different computer. The one thing I dislike is the fact that this track pad as well as other macs all are big AF for no reason....There are times where I accidentally move the mouse and click something. Or even, when I accidentally touch the touch bar, but with the touch bar. I just have big ass hands. With the track pad, it is definitely big for no reason. I enjoy the sound too! The sound quality on this MacBook is really nice. It feels like I am sitting in a movie theatre with surround sound. I also have been getting a lot of things done too. Having a laptop is just really important honestly. My mother and other family members scold me for making a big purchase, because I still have yet to buy a car...😭 But at least I use this like everyday. I sometimes bring it to work with me. The Apple ecosystem is nice too. I love how my icloud data syncs across devices. I can take a quick note on my phone and finish it later on my mac. Or I can airdrop a photo from my phone to mac and vice versa. With this mac it helped me understand much better about how to use files and folders. One thing that scared me though. Was when the macbook was off. Like COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN and I kept clicking the power button. Anxious that it was not going to turn on. I held the power button down and it made this loud noise and turned on. Which I did not expect the MacBook to do lol. The battery on this laptop is ok though. I see what people mean about the battery dying fast, but comparing this battery to the one in the M1 or the M2 is not a fair comparison tbh. Just, because this one has fans and the other one does not. The battery last for a few hours before needing to charge. It probably last like 5-6 hours. Depending on how much you use it and what applications you are running. The charger block itself is 87watts. I noticed that the battery last a long time when you plug the block with the cord it came with into the wall. If you plug it into an extension cord, it will take hours to fully charge and the charging block will get extremely hot. Also if you use the proper equipment like the charger and stuff it will charge faster and the battery will last longer. I charged my macbook with my Nintendo Switch charger, because my charger broke when I dropped my damn, laptop on accident. The Nintendo Switch charger was charging my macbook, but the battery was taking a while to charge and the battery drained fast. Overall for this to be my first MacBook with all this storage, ram and a lot of functionality. For this to be easy to use and manage and how it is implemented into the Apple Ecosystem. I give this a solid 10/10. Especially the touch bar. That itself is goated, just how you can use it and customize it. I really do not understand the hate that it got. It is extremely useful. It changes depending on what application you are using. Like if I was watching a video on my gallery. I will be able to see the video on my touch bar and rewind or fast forward frame by frame with just a slide of the finger. There are other ways that the touch bar is used as functionality as well. It is just goated. I also like how sleek it is to open and close the laptop. Not much tension or force needed to close or open it. It is just really smooth and gives a nice luxurious feeling.

    My main concern would be how long intel macs will be supported, we are already seeing features in Ventura that are arm only (admittedly rather minor so far). Obviously if you already have one and it keeps working well for you then keep using it, but I think if you are purchasing then the 14” or 16” M1 Pro are a no brainier if you can afford the extra, given the better screen and port selection along with the increase in power.

    Little late to the party but, I just traded off my 512GB Steam Deck for this model I think it's the same exact one that is mentioned: i9, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, Radeon Pro 5500m 4gb gpu. I'm fairly new to macbooks, have run windows for a long time. Was looking for something I could sink into to try out. I feel I did good with the trade so far. I know of Apple's support and figured if I could get about 2 years out of this machine I'd be happy, anything beyond and awesome? lol So far I'm liking it. As a newbie I have a lot to learn, but like how I learned Windows, I'm sure once I do learn, it'll speed up the process.

    The keybord takes some getting used to but I love it! I Love the Peripherals
    I love that I can connect my mouse VIA Bluetooth
