great effect..looks very creepy drifting along, even during the daytime. I constantly see & hear cats in my home when I lost my last cat 6 years ago. I have a ghost in my garden too that creates very warm spots by a little tree & also a sweet perfume smell. If u get out of the habit of expecting ghosts to perform on "spirit boxes" or give u jumpscares then there are lots of subtle signs there's something there. it's reassuring really if we can visit loved ones after death or that beloved pets can still show they're around.

I remember watching a UA-cam post a couple of years ago with a similar setup. I believe that setup included a 3rd wheel adding another leg for the ghost to travel. Loved your post. Great setup for sure. I noticed fishing weights in your parts layout. I am assuming you use those on either side of ghost attachment swivel to keep it in place? Just wanting to understand how you are keeping ghost in place with just a swivel connector over the line. Thanks so much and again, great set up.
I decided not to use them in my set up, but they can go on the line on either side of the ghost to keep it from sliding too far back and forth in the wind.

The only extra element I added was a second suspension point at the waist of the skeleton so that he/she always flies in the same direction. Why did you use the coast wheel as a drive wheel? Seems like you'd want to use the wheel that locks when engaged to drive. Cool idea! Might give it a go.

Hi! You can pretty much use any L shaped bracket to attach the motor. I used this one, but had to make adjustments to it, like drill the holes larger for the motor. amzn.to/3EukM5Z
The wind resistance to the ghost's "body" will help keep it oriented the correct way. I've got a skull with some spooky cloth draped over it that I hang from my tree with fishing line, and it only faces the way the wind is blowing.
Great job! I've know about Axeworthy flying ghost props for over 20 years, but I've never found the time to implement it. You've got the perfect set up for it with those two trees to hide the mechanism behind. I'd love to see it lit up at night!

Do the rims need to be bigger? (Its a kids bike similar to yours.) How did you mount the pole in ground? Do the 2 mounts need to be same height on both sides? @@xxSandman1873xx I’m so sorry to hear about your line! Have you tried a shorter distance between poles/wheels or considered adding a middle support? I’m adding one for mine this year because it’s such a long distance and it would sag.
I haven’t had problems with the lines coming off, but it’s possible if the line isn’t tight enough. I would recommend a larger wheel, rather than a pulley wheel for that very reason

Good video, but I wish a few things were added. For example, a 12v wiper motor is used but no mention of the amperage of the power supply. A 12v 1amp P.S. may not work. (I used 12v. 5a. power supplies for mine). Also, links to the products below would be nice for some people.
I can't quite figure out how to keep the wheel from spinning from the center bolt... is that what you used JB weld for? (I get that it's supposed to spin freely for a bike... but not for what we are doing.)

Do the bicycles wheels have to be the same exact height? I was wondering if the fishing line would have trouble staying on the wheel if I had about a foot decline from one to the other.
Was your video slowed down? Or was it in real time? I watched a few other videos on how to build a flying ghost, and they had their motor on slow and the ghost still just flew very fast around the wheels and it didn't look at all creepy. Maybe their motors were bigger? I know their wheels were, not sure if that made a difference. Very cool ghost. Thank you for sharing. How much did your ghost weigh? And did you have any problems keeping tension on the line?

Not the case. I’ve bought 2 kids bikes from FB marketplace and neither of them work. The first just spins the bolt but the tire doesn’t move. The second has pedals welded on so there’s no bolt to connect to. I’m not sure what kind of bike to buy but right now I’m about 3 hours in and within $20 of the price of the retail kit so unfortunately this hasn’t worked for me

How do u get the wheel to spin with the bolt
The wheel will still spin because of the bearing.
@@scarriehalloween how did the rim spin? The hub and rim have bearings that make them spin independently of one another. We’re the bearings removed?

I did it wont stay on. Im thinking because the wheels arent 100% same height or because the drive wheel shakes a little.

How to did you find a post base for a 2x4? I thought they only made them for 4x4 posts.

I can't quite figure out how to keep the wheel from spinning from the center bolt... is that what you used JB weld for? (I get that it's supposed to spin freely for a bike... but not for what we are doing.)
@@hracing I used the in weld for the coupler to attach it better than those little screw it came with
@@scarriehalloween Thank you! I figured out that you tighten the inside nuts on the wheel...I took the bearings out too, so it doesn't spin independant from the motor shaft. Thank you!! I'll have mine done in a few day (which probably means weeks)....

Did you put a fish swivel in the main line as well as the hang line?
Yes! Fish swivel on main line and another on the flying ghost head.
Do the bicycles wheels have to be the same exact height? I was wondering if the fishing line would have trouble staying on the wheel if I had about a foot decline from one to the other.
One foot will not be an issue!

Was your video slowed down? Or was it in real time? I watched a few other videos on how to build a flying ghost, and they had their motor on slow and the ghost still just flew very fast around the wheels and it didn't look at all creepy. Maybe their motors were bigger? I know their wheels were, not sure if that made a difference.

Thank you! No, this video is not slowed down. The motor that I used has a perfect speed for this! I made my ghost as light-weight as I could and also worked hard to get max tension on the line. How did you make the axle onto spin inside the wheel?
Is there a certain type of child’s bike tire you need? The one I bought just spins the bolt, not the tire
I think any child’s bike will do!
Not the case. I’ve bought 2 kids bikes from FB marketplace and neither of them work. The first just spins the bolt but the tire doesn’t move. The second has pedals welded on so there’s no bolt to connect to. I’m not sure what kind of bike to buy but right now I’m about 3 hours in and within $20 of the price of the retail kit so unfortunately this hasn’t worked for me
