  • Hello everybody, my name is Ulrich with UFixItAuto and I am starting a channel on automotive repair and I am going to be showing you how to do repairs using my cars. Please, if you wanna see this channel grow, then make sure you like, subscribe and share. I will be investing everything that I make from these videos back into the channel to give you guys more quality content, but the amount of videos and how frequent depends on you guys and how much you guys are willing to support my channel! Please leave comments as to what you would love to see done and how I can improve my channel!
I am showing you how to fix your sagging door by changing out your door hinge pins using my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE as an example. I bought this truck with 260,000 miles on the clock and I want to make sure I keep this truck for a while and who knows if the previous owners even did regular maintenance. The process should be the exact same if you have a 1999-2007 GMC Sierra or 1999-2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
Please inspect the door hinge pins and find out if you need to cut off the original pins.
Here are the affiliate links to the items used:
Dorman Hinge Pins (Be sure to buy 2 per door) - amzn.to/3ftgvT9

Great Ratcheting Wrench Set - amzn.to/3kU8tCE
    About Me:
What cars do I have that I will be making content with?
    I have a 1967 Mustang Coupe, 1967 Impala 4 Door, 1998 Toyota Celica GT Convertible, 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE, 2016 Chrysler 200, 2018 Toyota Camry
What things do I love to do on cars?
I have a love for all cars and love to see them all running smoothly, but on top of all that, I have a love for car audio, so you will be seeing a lot of car audio builds.

Excellent step by step vid. Important to note that the smooth part of the pins that go on top are sized a little longer than the bottom ones. You sort of point that out but the wind noise was loud during that part. Took me a second to figure out why they were not fitting correctly. After inspecting them closer i noticed they were not exactly the same and switched them up. Worked out perfect after that. :)

@@ufixitauto5237 Well, this is one of the best i've seen. Clear, quick and concise... and the camera work is great. There's so many garbage vids out there that love to ramble on before getting to the point and then do extreme close ups on everything where its hard to tell what's what. The pin and bushing kit i used from 1A Auto is like the ones you took off with the e clips. If you do a redo of this vid, i would say do it exactly the same but maybe show that there are different types of kits available out there that work... i.e., some with e clips some with a nut to hold on the pins. Cheers!

Great video! My factory pins were riveted on so I had to cut them off. The top pin on the top bracket was seized on the bottom side. It took a while to hammer out. If you have these kind of pins I would recommend cutting off the bottoms pins first, then both ends of the top pin and get the bracket out so you can hammer out the stuck piece

I have no idea how you managed to hammer yours out. I trued a drill, hammer, and then ended up bending the hinge. I had to order new hinges. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So happy I stumbled across this, my know it all body guy said he could try to move the door a bit but since they have welded mounts it’s pretty much screwed.. I can clearly see your door had the same symptoms as mine and a couple other videos iv just watched. Thank you

I'm sorry about the audio only coming out of the left side! This is when I first started my channel and didn't have the equipment I have now. I've since gone from a GoPro to an actual high quality camera and have gotten a better mic. I have gone away from doing mostly voice overs, to commentating as I go and I hope you enjoy the content more! I look to invest as much as I can back into the channel to give you better quality content! Thank you so much for your support and for your feedback!

I think it's important to note that the new pins with the bolt are way better than the aftermarket c clip pins. I used the set that utilized the c clip and they did not fix my issue so now I have to replace them with the ones you used

Mines an 04. Had to buy the pin kit with the bracket as the OEM pins were not coming out of the hole and it just bent the bracket. They were hard to install and for some reason my door still sags a hair when opening. And the top bracket bolt isn't in because the part on the door that the bolt threads into didn't line up properly. So now I have to take the door back off and try to do it again. My hinges are tight and hard to move by hand but the door opens and closes fine. Backing them off isn't the best idea that will just cause it to wear faster.
