I hope rough County is sponsoring you. There's hundreds of people who are going to get RC lift now because your video is the best instructional video out there. I know I'm pulling the trigger now because I will have less questions since watching this video. Thanks Dan. Always the best.
I wouldnt put a lot of trust in those jackstands if i were you, turning on rusty bolts can turn them over and down itll comme, ive seen it happen before !
I Finally finished returning my Sliver Beauty back to flawless glory! So... I did the right thing and bought "Project Auction Basket case" 😁 your vids help me in all I do!
Don't forget to set your emergency brake.......in the event that you have one of the rare still operational units! Love the content. Great walk through on the process.
I really enjoyed this video and pt 2. This is exactly how i want my next XJ 2 b done. At first i just want to leave it stock. U changed my mind. This will b my 3rd XJ. I traded my 86 4 a RV...i b came homeless 1 year...traded my 96 n 4 a 2019 Nissan Kicks..got totaled.. This time i wanna get a 97 or newer b cause of the a/c system with knobs reather than the slide controls for a/c heater...blah! blah! blah!..i can go on 4 ever....lol!...thanx man!
Thanks for the call out for torque specs on the parts you upgraded and others you reinstalled. I have to do everything you addressed on a 95 ZJ including upper and lower ball joints and both engine mounts. I was considering removing the entire axle to get to the R&R on the left and right UCA's and easier access to the engine mounts. Your video convinced me to go this route.
Nice to have a channel that doesn't have blaring music. Audio, lighting and camera angles provide some of the best coverage. Acquired a '87 XJ with lift parts missing, or do I say that half of them were ordered? I can say that what is there are Rubicon Express, and I'll have to go out and measure what is installed then make a list of what's needed to finish up what someone else started. How about companies stamping reference part numbers on their products. Got to be able to cross reference replacement parts eventually. It really show how simple the suspension actually is... Thank you for the great coverage once again. 😁👍
Whenever you give something a shake, it is required that you say, "that's not going anywhere". Otherwise, you risk the possibility of it actually falling/failing...LOL As always, love the videos Dan!
I don't like to comment. Everything is so scrutinized these days. But all said and done, great job! I'm sure you will probably have haters, but keep being you. As a senior citizen just now being able to build my dream XJ, thank you.
A good front lift video! I also have a 3" lift (Old Man Emu) I would recommend sway bar disconnects - Better flex and your sway bar bushings will last a lot longer
Dan, Great job with the Lift replacement. With all the trouble you went through with painting, I'm sure you were going to apply corrosion coating to the sway bar fasteners. Looks like those will start rusting after the first winter storm this year.
Always like coming back to your channel Dan. You and D&E and NickInTime always make me remember why i like these brick shaped money pits. Any plans for Grevious upgrades in the future?
@@ProjectDanH Absolutely right, I'm not recommending cutting, I am doing as a test, not an end all. Guess I should have been clearer on that. If I don't like how the suspension reacts I can put stock back on without purchasing expensive lowering springs first. Not concerned with my original springs, I have a 1/4 of a million miles.
I recently got my first XJ to use for fishing here on Long Islands beautiful beaches. I plan on doing a 3 inch lift at some point, probably next season, as I’m working on getting other things ready for this year. Question, do you find you need a SYE for this lift? I’m hoping I won’t need one, but will if I have to. Thanks for the awesome content and the inspiration!
Dan, what was your process/technique did you use with regard to washing, cleaning, and painting your wheel wheels, axels, steering, etc? I just bought some Rp 342 and some Strip clean metal prep along with some Zep Purple industrial strength cleanet and steel wire wheels. Anything im missing ? I think I’m in the right track. Thank bud, -Fletch
Dan!, I got a set of barely used Zone Off-Road 3" lift coils. I went to 4.5" lift to squeeze 33"s under the Bumble Jeep. Let me know if you're interested. God b less and stay well.
Hi, i really enjoyed video, my stock 2000xj , i just bought 3 lift kit( only schock, spring,a pair leaf) alot opinions suggest ( aditional )should only need new pair sway links and a transfer drop kit, my intention is just 30 inch tires on a off set wheel only to use street routes. Is it necessary drop bracket , new arms etc.. ? just want a smooth ride . Appreciate your advice; thanks

Hey Dan ,. I watch your videos quite often, and I see you using wood blocks on top of your jack stands, And I'll be honest man, it makes me grind my teeth a bit every time I see it. If you are going to use blocks on top of them like that, why don't you get some 4x4 blocks that are larger and notch them so that they have a channel to fit around and cradle the frame, and maybe the other side also so they cradle the jack stands a bit also. Yea I'm harping on you dude,,,, but so what,. Cause no one really wants to see some guy on UA-cam that is trying to get some work done on a jeep and make a video of it get injured, or killed. It would probably be great for a horror film . But not for a jeep repair video. Stay safe man. Thank you for your videos. Tim from Wisconsin.

I disagree. I'm doing my 1st 3" and struggling with the coil springs. 17 minutes of watching to find out that wasn't included in the video
