3 years ago you made a video called “is it worth it” where you suggested the danger of street riding is not worth the risk. Do you still feel this way?
The trike conversion is because the old man had a goldwing, but had to have knee surgery and figured this would be cheaper, and he'd keep all the goldwing features that he was used to without having to get a bike he didn't want. Now this old man has to sell it because he doesn't ride it that much and the wife wants both cars in the garage. It's weird, but if it allows him to ride I won't hate
@@alexanderenrriquez6027 ya, it seems our papa yam has confirmed that he knows less about cars than the average star bucks chick. Ok maybe that too harsh… or not!
Only reason I could think of for having a Trike is you have a disability with legs, or a balance problem and you just don't want to give up that bike riding feeling.
I had a buddy whose dad loved riding and probably had a million miles in the saddle in his life. Towards the end he couldn’t manage a normal motorcycle so they bought him a Polaris reverse trike. Lit up like a little kid..
My dad bought two of those scooters you had on at the end back before I was born. We still have them and they run great. Since we live in Hawaii they are great for getting around on and so cheap to fill up and and get around on. They are also how I learned to work on motors.
I’ll personally pay Yammie a cool $100 if he takes that Honda Express to the track and does a video on it. *$100 to be paid ¢.25 a month for 400 months*
There's tons of Goldwing trikes out there with two wheels in the back, which is a lot less safe than Can-Am style/2 in front. I can totally see there are lots of reasons why someone would go from two wheels to three wheels so that they can stay in the wind. I would absolutely do the same and will absolutely do the same, if and when the time comes.
Trike conversions happen because of people like me. I rode small old hondas as a kid, on trails and countey roads. Due to both genetics and injury as a teenager I have damage to my left hip and knee, had to have surgery on my left ankle, and have damaged my back both lumbar and cervical spinal radiculoparhy. I'd love to be able to ride again but I can't do it on 2 wheels because of my disability.
Yammie, My first motorbike was a yellow 1980 Honda Express. It was a hand me down from my cousin. I spent the summer of my 14th year riding it every day, and loved it. There was a new neighborhood adjacent to mine that had all the roads freshly laid, and I had a route laid out where you could pin the throttle and hold on for dear life, at 35mph. I also did several 20-30 mile tours. Show some respect, young man! Love the channel, btw keep it up.
The Honda trike doesn't hurt the spirit of a goldwing...they are two wheel cars anyhow. I can see it for someone older that may have issues holding up a large bike. Probably a dream on a long highway drive!
That first bike, the Harley Soft tail... "We do not NEGOTIATE..." ...then... "...as long as you have a realistic price in mind we will do our BEST to EARN YOUR BUSINESS!!" so they don't negotiate but will accept a realistic price? I'm confused.
Omg. The honda express was my first motorized 2 wheeler. It's where my love for motorcycles was born. The ninja is a zx9r. Had a buddy that had one of those. They were touted as the most comfortable Superbike of the time but also came in last in motorcyclists Superbike showdown. I miss waiting for the new issue of motorcyclist magazine. 😢
A big market for trikes like that are people that have been riding cruisers and tourers for decades and have had a hip or knee surgery or their cartilage just isn't there anymore, so hooking a leg over or holding it up just isn't comfortable anymore. But they don't want to give up the open air for a glass shell. So a trike is their way to keep riding.
The Honda Express when I come out was classified as a scooter and in Iowa, you could ride them on the street at 14 years old. Imagine packs of Jr High kids after school taking off like a poker run.
Love these. They always get me thinking: "Man, Yammie would have given the listing I bought my bike from about a 3/10" Seriously, though, I've learned a lot in the year I've owned this bike. I now love it, but it's been a cash and time sink. These videos are a great guideline to know what to be aware of when getting a new-used bike.
9:38. I bought an 07 Honda Vtx1800 with 3000 miles on it. Owner was afraid of it. I’m 125lbs and it rides like a rocket ship. But not as fast as my fz1. You should try a VTX1800. Muscle cruiser. I would give him $500 for the Honda Express just for sentimental reasons. It was my first bike at age 13 that I learned to ride on, parked it neighbors garage who had a custom 750 Honda chopper. I kept saying one day, you’ll grow up to be that. I bought a 750 Shadow Ace a couple of years ago, so it became reality. Great lil bike to tool around locally or at camp sites with.
That soft tail is an $8,000 bike. Once you install aftermarket parts it kinda becomes a crap shoot if anybody will even want it and then you throw on a niche paint job that only a certain demographic won't immediately change and you've cut your customer pool into a fraction. Now charge the price of an entire extra bike for that paint job and the aftermarket parts and only include hilariously low res pics in the listing... Surely this was a joke or somebody that doesn't actually want to sell but needs it look like they're trying.
Don't underestimate the Express......it is a Honda after all. My first motorized 2-wheel fun was on my grandpa's 78 Express, I could handle it no problem even at 7 years old. Its a 50cc 2-stroke, so enough power to get moving and run all day on a gallon of gas. And no kickstater.... just pump the kicker pedal a few times and it wound a spring that spun the engine when you pulled the rear brake lever.....genius! A rebuilt title only occurs when a bike is totaled and sold by the insurance company. The bike is rebuilt, the builder gets it inspected and on showing proof the vehicle has been rebuilt and deemed safe the state changes the salvage title to a rebuilt title. A vehicle with a salvage title is never street legal in Texas, and if you get caught driving a vehicle with a salvage title it'll get impounded faster than you can blink. They do NOT issue a salvage/rebuilt title if you buy your own bike back from the insurance company and fix it back up as a lot of people tend to do. The title never leaves your name so it retains a clear title. A rebuilt title automatically knocks about 50% of the value from a vehicle. Any vehicle with no title is a HARD PASS. It'll never be street legal, and do you want to risk getting caught with a hot bike in your possession???
You're not DEEP into bikes, are ya, Yam? That scooter may well have provenance. It may be significant to the history of the company. And at 40 years old, you know someone is putting in the work to make that thing like new again. Don't undervalue history, kid. It's important.

The gold wing, and the trike thing. Well I see it two ways. Either you’re too afraid of two wheels. But, there are people that love to ride, and two wheels can be too much. Say older people, or someone with medical issues. (wheels in front are better than the wheels in the back) I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume a person on a trike has to be on the trike more than wants to be on the trike. Two is better than three, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do if you want to ride.

My KLR I got 2 months ago has almost 2000 miles lol
Do you ship the bike's to UK🇬🇧
My daughter's wanting to ride... I just scored her a 78 Yamaha XS400 for $300... That Honda for twice that is hilarious...
Maybe the guy with the green Ninja wanted to get a tattoo of his daughter 😅
Damn. I've put 12K miles on one of my bikes since October!😂
Damn I was hoping my bike was going to be on here
Nothing like Joe Dirt reading cycle trader for fun.
"I don't want to put someone's phone number on the internet", while looking at the phone number...on the internet.
