Made this tonight..oh man it was good!! Slightly made different though. Pan seared the sausages then put peppers n onions and chopped jalapeño mix(sauted them) on baking pan , topped with sausages covered with aluminum foil..baked at 425 for 25 mins. Let sit 5 mins. Used hoagie buns ..I buttered the buns, sprinkled some garlic powder and parsley over them and broiled the buns til browned. Butterfly cut the sausage to lay it easily on bun.
Ok, I followed this recipe and the results were absolutely amazing!!! Have made Sausage and Peppers many times over the years and these were so good, so sweet. I baked my own rolls and the sandwiches were delicious. Had the leftovers over eggs in the morning.

OH MY GOODNESS.... I just found this recipe, and this man is the most wholesome person I've ever seen in my life. This happy Italian man has honestly warmed the depths of my soul.
I like to add some chunks of sliced up tomatoes to my sausage and peppers (or canned diced tomatoes if it's all you have). An Italian might frown upon this other addition, but a couple dashes of Worcestershure sauce adds some extra zip! Just one thing that a more serious cook than myself might take issue with is adding the garlic in the very beginning, cooking it with the onions; for the maximum garlic flavor you want to fry the garlic separately for only a minute and add it to the sausage and peppers right at the very end of the cooking stage, or just before serving. Garlic does burn very easily, And if you are cooking it alongside of the onions you had better keep stirring it, and don't walk away from the skillet for even a minute.
Dad took us to live in Naples Italy back in the 80s when he work for the Navy and believe it or not almost all Italians are just like that and even nicer. Our neighbors we're just out of this world nice everybody over there is very gracious and very helpful. Truly very very nice people.
