Bastard! I’ve wanted a late ‘70’s Porsche 911 Targa since I was a kid. Of course, I still do. One of the sexiest cars of all time. Absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations.

The key on the left is for Le Mans, where back in the day drivers had to run across the road, insert the key and start the car and drive off.

Before you think of starting it pull the plugs and put some diesel in there and turn it over by hand i know it sounds off but diesel like kero is good for cleaning and also has a lubricating effect too after a while of turning it you just pull the plug again turn it with them out to clear out the diesel and do an oil change

Another explanation to the left SIDE Key is when you are working on your car is easier to start

In NYC we use to have the guys ("I'm 57 yrs old") who use to put M badges on 3 series you'd see a 318 with an M badge e39 & e46's badged as M's but the exhaust & body mods gave them away, I even saw an e90 with just the front & rear M bumpers but the exhaust was a single exhaust with an empty M exhaust exit on the bumper lol, New Yorkers lol, I had a e46 330ci Cabrio & a base F15 x5 because I needed more space since my step daughter had some bigger friends that really didn't fit in the e46, eventually will go back to a sedan or coupe after she finishes college

this made me really happy seeing this. the other day i was gonna trade my mustang for a ford freaking ranger. The people who had the ranger had told me there was nothing wrong with it etc... well when i test drove it and the first thing i notice is the clutch is completly shot. so i declined the offer. i left my phone in his truck and its an iphone 11. so i was tracking it and all of a sudden it cuts off. my battery was at 82 so ik it didnt die. The bastard turned it off and took the sim out. called the police and they didnt do anything. so moral of the story dont be a josh amd leave a 900$ phone in a crackheads truck.

Your wife wasn't wearing a seatbelt at 70mp/h. A large percentage of road deaths in the USA involve people not wearing seatbelts. Aside from the risk your wife took, she set an example that others might follow. So, your example could save lives, or cost lives. Your choice.

The ignition being on the left side was designed for Le Mans racing and Porsche carried it over to all of their cars. In Le Mans the drivers used to be out of their cars at the start of a race, and once the flag dropped, they would have to run to their cars that were parked across from them on the track, start them, and then take off. Having the ignition on the left side allowed for drivers to start the car and put it in gear at the same time by using both hands rather than using their right hand to both start the car and then put it in gear, thus making the process of getting off the line quicker. It was actually quite smart. Even after the standing starts were no longer a thing, Porsche still kept the ignition on the left as a design element as a homage to their heritage and racing history.
