Brings back memories.
In 76’ I was a teenager and helped a guy doing scrapping.
We climbed over piles. And I grabbed many small items
One of the amazing things I saw doing that was a 1904 and 1906 caterpillars. That were used for highway 6 both still ran at that time. In the south west corner of Iowa.
I am a Chevy guy, so loved the ‘55. Aside from that, the little Cat Ten might have been my favorite.
My favorite thing was that 55 Chevy ❤️❤️❤️… but that Cat 10 was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. It would cost me $$$ to get that thing to North Carolina 😢 I’d love to have it!
the roadgrader cab would make a neat well cover or even a school bus stop shelter for kids
I thought the same thing, the cab would have been cool to save
A tractor on tracks without a dozer blade is a crawler tractor. Thank you Silas for your high quality videos. I'm learning about the history of an unfamiliar, to me, agricultural region in the U.S. How lucky your kids are to have a dad like you.
Silas the cab off of that greater would be a perfect bus stop shelter for kids.
I like that old building too, and the old road grader. Had a blast watching today
Love these farm cleanups. Old equipment is very interesting.
Top four favorites.
1. The old thresher/pull combine.
2. The hit n miss motor with the generator.
3. Single track implement with attachments.
4. The small Caterpillar.
I sure hope you save 2, 3, and 4.
Love that old cat
The little Caterpillar Ten brings back some good old memories of my first full time employer. The old boy had one of those sitting behind the shop. I don't know what ever happened to it. It was complete but the magneto needed fixed.
The crawler you pulled the tags off of that tool box on the left side is very hard to find, bet all the antique tractor guys are screaming at you.
55 Chevy two door hard top, mega cool.
i have no use for it but that little ten dozer is awesome would be a great will it start project
The cat 10 is my favorite
Tiny cat ❤😊and the little shed you saved ❤😊!
I love that little CAT 10.
LOVE the farm clean ups - now get into those 4 semi trailers, LOL ;)
When spring comes
Congrats on the 60000 subscribers! Keep up the good work!
Hey Silas, thank you for preserving our history, need more like you and Good Pliers! And I loved the old bus
That one thing you didn't know what it was. Well it looks like an old Hit & Miss engine. That '55 is one hell of a Barn Find.
That small caterpillar was nice, hope you don’t crush it.👍
Silas, been well over a year since I visited your site! This video is awesome in many ways! As usual you keep us busy watching and listening; while you give us the details what’s coming and going on. That big front double forked loader really has its way when it carries off his dead ancestors. You are correct, that was a beautiful place, just seeing the layout and maybe how it was years ago! It was actually a peaceful place of sort to me. Hope to come by more often. Have a safe work day every day.
With no doubt the 55 chevy and the small cat dozer
Caterpillar 10 is my favorite and the one track garden tractor is really interesting. My first time here but not my last, great channel.
Great job Silas! Looking forward to Part 2! Best vehicle? The 55 in the barn by far. Very, very cool is the early Cat. So cool, unique and complete!
Awesome job Silas. I am thinking that old tin shed would make one fantastic modernized chicken coop! LOL
Early, tiny Caterpillar was the most interesting piece.
It never ceases to amaze me about your skill in operating equipment. great job of filming also and looking forward to Part II. Thanks for the entertainment.
it never ceases to amaze me how much good stuff is scrapped. if there is a heaven and a hell , i hope lots of people go to hell! 👍🤟👌
@@carmichaelmoritz8662 sounds like you will be one of them going to the fire pit also. You will regret it once you are there and can’t get out. I hope you change your ways before that day comes.
@@mwatkins2464 we are all already in hell I was just being sarcastic.
@@carmichaelmoritz8662 if you think this is hell you’re crazy. This is paradise compared to hell. I really hope you know that and are kidding. I think you are kidding and I hope you know Jesus cause we have to be prepared for what’s gonna take place. God bless you sir 🙏🙏❤️
@@mwatkins2464 what a coincidence , I also think you're kidding about your Jesus belief. 👍🤟👌. Maybe that's the reason I suffer with disabilities and am in so much pain , I'm being prepared so that I can endure hell 🤣😂🤣👍
That was so great had to watch it again
Cool clean up. Can't wait for part 2 and maybe 3 ?
The Star Motor Company (1922-1928) was made by Durant to compete with the Ford and Chevrolet.. The animal on the crest is a Rampant Lion.
I love the old barn finds and farm clean ups you do!! Looking very forward to your next video of anythng you post. You work very hard and share your days with us. As always another fantastic video!
No Question : The 55 Chev is the best thing I have seen in Years !!!! Stuart in Ontario Canada ........
This the 55 hardtop video from back in the day isn’t it?
That car keeps me up at night.
Boy that old 55 Chevrolet brings back memories.
I restore track machines love the cat 10!
Enjoyed it buddy and looking foward to the part 2. Really liked the little dozer. Maybe they will decide to sell the 55 chevy.👍
Caterpillar Ten: 1928 - 1932
Agricultural Crawler tractor Caterpillar 2.3L 4-cyl gasoline 15.6 hp Weight 4420 lbs
PT783 makes it a 1929 model year
Thanks!
Depression era
After you knowing that 55, how can you not be a Chevy guy!? lol, Great video!
That stylized Caterpillar script on that radiator is really cool.
Really liked the GMC grain truck and the old cat 10.
The old garden tractor with track was kinda neat. You have to do some reaserch on that one... Farm cleanups are the best.
Loved this video. That baby cat would be fun to get running again.
You guys earn every penny you make on these jobs. What a thrill it would be to be there helping you for several days getting it all done. True adventure material! Look forward to every video, thank you !
Never realized how I missed these farm cleanups, lookin forward to part 2!
Thanks Silas! 👍👍👍👍
Caterpillar Ten 🤠👍
Love those old crawlers.
Oh what a farm clean up project
Old CAT Equipment is so desirable by so many enthusiasts. To see this end up in scrap is painful…. However the bright side is it’s making all of the other survivors more valuable.
Did he say that he is definitely going to scrap it? Scrap steel prices are really low right now as well. That's the exact type of thing (heavy, small) that is worth trying to sell to a collector, or to at least wait until scrap gets up to $150-175 per ton again.
@@redmondjp the only thing he thought had any value was to rip the radiator out to sell for scrap. It is what it is.
The small Cat crawler would be awesome to restore!
The "animal" on the Star hubcap is a Griffin. The top frame is a 1926 Star M model.
Looks like you have a lot of weight there you are scraping good deal . Thanks for sharing always love watching.
This was a great video. Really neat items to see. I would say that building has my interest, want to see what you do with it, if you can get it straightened up. I am amazed at how you can manage to get all the big items out of the trees. And your right about that old video, I randomly saw it and have been hooked ever since seeing it. Your videos, all of them are really enjoyable. Fun music choices and great camera work. Thanks for sharing your time and adventures with us. Peace
That little Cat is awesome! Would make a great show piece, or yard art, on the back of that GMC! Those GM cabs are cool, but that truly barn find '55 Chevrolet is amazing. I don't blame them for keeping it!
Wish you were not so far away I would love the GMC 3 ton . Love the farm clean ups
Well that was fun Silas . Brings back lots of memories.
Silas, maybe Squatch253 would have interest in the old Caterpillar dozers or grader parts, fwiw. The larger of the two resembles his RD6.
Great job and thank you for showing us some old equipment. Love it
Thanks for sharing
Silas, you always seem to enjoy your work! you never let setbacks spoil your day. And I love seeing all the things you find. Plus you operate that loader with suck skill
such
from where i live that old 55 chevy is worth it's weight in Gold.. too bad they won't sell it rather then let the frame rot out from under it sitting on the dirt
Hello Silas, hands down the 55 Chevy is my favorite. I was a young teenager back then. Dad had a 54 Ford then. Where we lived in the mountains of East Tennessee a road grader was used on the gravel roads. You could hear that grader coming from about 2 miles away. Thanks for the memories.
Hi there Silas. Thank you for your time, showing us all some interesting track and wheeled stuff. I look forward to the next download. JR/UK.
That mini Cat dozer was pretty cool I hope it gets saved and restored! Great video as farm clean up is always a favorite! 💯
l like the weird, tracked walk behind cultivator, glad you're too far away for me to come and purchase the machine.
The CAT 10 is pretty cool.
I enjoy your show as a kid we use to love going to scrap yards.
That old cat 10
those antique Caterpillars are very collectable.
Theres a channel called DieselCreek, I know he would definitely be interested in them.
Farm Clean Up - hey - yes - we love that Small Tin Building also very much - it can be straighten out again - very cool looking ! 55 Chevy in that Barn - Dusty - but in Great Condition - love the Interior ! You got some great Farm Equipment Scrap and Dozers etc ! Now we are looking forward to Part 2 - more Goodies to be Removed from that Farm ! Great Video as Usual - loving it ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!! Favorite Equipment has to be that Little "Crawler" Dozer !!!!
You gotta save that Star chassis. I know, save it, save it. That is worth saving. What would you want a Star hubcap ? Cool video .
The little Cat was , to me the highlite, If you ever see the Movie "Earthworm Tractor,," its the star of the show, Old Movie but worth a watch.
Thanks Silas, you are lucky to find such cool things at a farm cleanup! I love the little Caterpillar, of course the 55 and also your new youtube office!!!
The little cat 10 sure looks like needs restored and not to someone who would just brag that they own it and set at there place. Until it sinks into the dirt again
It always amazes me what people abandoned in their groves 50-60 years ago. I can't imagine having 100T of scrap on my property and not at least attempting to get rid of some of it those years when iron was $160+. Things like old trucks, graders, and dozers could have paid a lot of bills if they had sold them before they rotted away.
Wow that 55 is like the epitome of barn finds, the one everyone dreams of finding. Even if not for sale now, you know where it is, they know it interests you. Things change!
I have been a Tri Five Chevy guy since the 1960's. Always dreamed of finding a 2 dr HT like that one. All I ever found have been 4 dr sedans. That looks very restorable. You can buy all kinds of new parts for it too. That has got to be one of the most popular restoration vehicles there are.
My favorite was the Caterpillar Ten ! That’s one cool little piece. 👍👍
Another great video too !
Ty son for the adventure I'm old equipment operator love that old iron ty
greets again from Australia - loved the tiny little catapillar, that would be a collector for sure.... love these types of videos... this is the type that got me into watching all of yours... i don't know if you remember, but i told you about the hemlock (tall weeds that have white flowers like broccoli) in one of your early videos... hope you save the tiny cat...
the tiny cat would never be melted even i love it but dont want it,regarding hemlock i have it near me here in gb nasty nasty stuff, thing is theres warnings every year but people still dont listen, ive seen it 15 foot tall by the river
Of course the 55 Chevy!! Love seeing old stuff salvaged and put back in use . Thanks for the video
Great video Silas. Love to see you and your dad working so well together.
My personal favorite is the unusual little metal building. Super cool !
Love the old little cat and the old Chevy grain truck.
Stay safe and God bless. Dan 🇺🇸
always enjoy the clean ups looking forward to part 2 !!!!!!
Thank you for sharing !!!!! love every video
Those bulldozers were very nice Silas Good video
Great as always Silas. I am the same with the old stuff most would see as junk except i lack the acreage to store it. I like to save stuff. The 55 Is my favorite.
Mme get a hold of some of the other cat guys like sqush 253 UA-cam. He or he might know who wants it and maybe buy as whole or part out. A lot of the running gears if good are worth good money.
Thanks Silas, These videos are always fun to watch, and you guys are honest hard workers.
Been watching for over a year great old clean up’s keep them coming!
I like it all
Silas I'm a Ford man(as I've told you before) but that 55 Chevy is too cool. Sorry that you couldn't get it but I do understand sentimental value, because of that you would have to give so much it wouldn't have enough to make it worth your while. Thanks for the awesome content.
Kool vid i like the farm cleanups silas theres some awesome stuff there 👍
My brother I got to give it to you you are a hard-working man a very good operator God bless you and your family and your dad he still working with you
Wow man ! I would break out that billfold and try like Heck to get them to sell that 55 !
I’ve tried for years. One of the grandkids wants it
Despite the '55 not being yours, it's still a cool piece.
If I had a place to put them, I'd love to restore the old dozers and graders.
Lots of hard work and thanks for showing us the 55 Chevy.
I love the Cat 10........hope someone saves it.
First time watching your channel. My first impression was “you sure have a knack of taking junk and turning it into less useful junk”.
When recycled it becomes much more useful
I love your channel and your videos. The kids being included reminds me of when I was a young Dad. Such precious memories. I will add that '55 Chevy might not be so sentimental to them if a serious buyer came along. A complete 2 door hard top in that kind of condition?! Can you begin to imagine an auction with two motivated buyers?! Tens of thousands easy. But keep up the good work. You have a lovely young family and a great attitude toward life.
Loved looking at the 55 Chevy. I also really enjoy watching you run that loader! Thanks for another great video.
Great video Silas. I love those old thrashers. I have always wanted one of those old pull behind road graders. They are so interesting to see them work.
That cat10 was amazing!
dang, you are slick with that loader. Surgical removal on the old GMC stakebed.
I'm sure your 60 thousand subbers would agree, you offer something different. I've enjoyed your brand for over a year now. Honestly looking at this chore you had, I wouldn't know where to start. I guess that's why you have a channel and I don't. Good Stuff !
