    I’ve had the 1g for about a year now, I don’t touch the presets. I have built my own sounds. Generally a clean fender with effects and a crunchy Marshall with some delay. Either straight into my recording setup or into a Vox MV50 clean. Sounds great.

    I have the 1G and 1B and I found the same problem with it cutting out when I was running off the batteries. Once I bought a power supply I haven’t had a problem since.
    Great review as well. Very well explained. Not to many good informational videos on the stomplab pedals.

    Very helpful. I had a lot of questions that I didn't find in the product description that you covered in your video. Thanks.

    I have been using the guitar and the bass version of this pedal for my recordings for a couple of years (without plugging it into an amp, directly plugged into my audio interface) and it does the job just fine. I've only used the presets so far and did not get into the programing side of it.

    Nice demo. It's good value for sure.

    the output is STEREO/MONO - it's actually a switching jack, so it functions as a simple output like on any pedal (or your twiggy), straight to the amp, OR, it will accept a stereo jack-plug & act as a headphone out, with neither function causing the nasty 'shorting' that breaks into the signal, when you put a mono jack lead into a stereo jack socket. So, it's pretty cool! Made in Japan, which is cool at this price. Also, be sure to take advantage of the global (GBL) settings, so the output jack socket is optimised for headphones or amp (& Type of amp). Playing this device all day today has been a real amazing surprise. The capabilities are far beyond what I expected. Take care man!

      so ....to put it into an amp (essentially using as a "guitar pedal") it has to be on GLBL amp setting ?
      And to record to a DAW it has to be "line in " ? Thnx for that ....have i got it correct ?

    • @blacktoothfox677
      @blacktoothfox677 3 роки тому +2

      @@TheMichaelseymour No. GBL is divided into 4 sections; A1, A2, A3, Ln. A1-3 are essentially voicings for whatever amp you are using (into a Fender Deluxe 112 I use A2, into the Orange, A1. My old Elpico A3) - this you should meddle with to see what pleases your ears. Ln is 'Line'. Every time you use this device, quickly hit 'Edit', goto 'GBL', & make sure your output setting is optimized. It's one of the few hassles. Its been 3 months now, & I've done a lot with the IIG. Only bought it as a practice toy, but I do actually record with it. Some sounds are a little 'lo-res' but others are just stellar. It really is a very capable machine, so affordable as to be throwaway, and I had a pleasant shock when I read 'MADE IN JAPAN' on the back. Happy to help in any way, as the machine can be a bit of a fiddle. I livestream here on YT every Tuesday at noon GMT. Hope you and yours are happy and healthy in these crazy times /

      @@blacktoothfox677 yes...i already have a bigger , more expensive vox tonelab...but i dont want to take it to gigs etc...i have built up a good pedal selection over the years ...but i want a simple floor stomp ...and i think this is it - the tuner is not great ...but functional ?
      Is it it easy to get your sounds edited and then have the first few kept forever in a bank ?
      I would then be free of my pedal board !!! Cheers , appreciate your time and offer ...greetings from Australia blacktooth !

      @@TheMichaelseymour G'day down there me old mucker from the freshly unlocked-down UK. I might even have a forlorn hope of playing a gig this year..! Yeah I got a good few handy sounds banked. Managed a really authentic Iron Maiden, and found one or two very characterful tones. Funnily enough, if you model other Vox amps and stuff it sounds great, the old Vox Tonebender too. I don't know if that is my imagination, a coincidence, or a common-sense obvious fact because they are Vox and have all the Vox data. All that aside, it really has shone. Though not as hi-def as other modelling platforms, it IS characterful, and does a few things particularly well. Astonishing me here and there, given it's price point. Turn all amp- & cab- sims off, and go acoustic simulator... wow, it's quite a useful package for my unplugged gigs. So a few patches are devoted to that end. Can't wait to try it out there. Anyhooch, all the best to you and yours, cheers man.

    I have the stomplab 2G and sounds awesome, the wha isn't the best, but you can use the expression pedal as an extra switch for modulation or anything else. Good video.

    Hey man, just got the IIG today... first time I've ever ordered a piece of kit online via Amazon... but it was cool. like a kid at xmas getting a parcel, ha ha. Anyways, thanks for the helpful video, good luck with it all, have subscribed, from a locked-down UK. Peace!

    Hey, the noise you got at 9:57, was that single coil 60 cycle or is the Vox unit causing noise because of adaptor/ground loop? Did you use Vox on batteries for this demo?

    • @hoffguitars479

      My amp at the time had some feedback of its own and that coupled with the singles Cole made it pretty aggressive. Yes I was using the barrettes for the demo. Shortly after that they died and I tried to recharge them and they would not recharge

    Great review man.
    I do have a pedal board but sometimes I just want to jam in my office without an amp. So I am going to give this thing a try because I need a preamp with headphone capability. So hopefully I can run this thing at the end of my pedal board and also into my Scarlett.

    Heres how it sounds into garageband through Line6 HX stomp (used as interface with everything on it off). Lead tone solely from the vox.

    Great review! I have two questions: How is the battery life and does it have a looper?

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  4 роки тому +1

      Batter life is ok, I originally thought it had rechargeable batteries but it does not. Does not have a looper thought and I wish it did. The zoom g1 does though I just haven’t had a chance to try one yet.

      @@hoffguitars479 How many hours do you get on average? And yeah, the G1 looks ideal for a complete super-portable solution. But from the demos i've seen it sounds alot more digital than stomplab. I guess every pedal will have trade-off's.

    Hello.
    Does it have Amp and Cab simulator?

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  4 роки тому

      Yes it does. There are lots of amps to choose from, all the way from clean to high gain, and I believe 9 or 10 cabs.

    • @edwardmakabling418
      @edwardmakabling418 4 роки тому

      acoustic scribblings one last question. Is it possible to combine chorus amp and cabinet?

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  4 роки тому

      Etiti Yulolo yes for sure! It’s actually really easy. The cab and amp mainly determine if you are using overdrive, distortion, high gain or clean tone. After that there is an effects setting that allows you to choose between chorus and a few other effects. After that you can add delay and reverb if you want them.

    That's crazy to hear that it's a cheap, entry level fx pedal. I just picked up a King of Tone clone, the King of Drive, and if no one told you, it would easily pass for a semi-boutique pedal, much like Wampler, JHS, Vertex, and the smaller companies like them. It's obviously hand built and has no surface mount components.
    What it does have is top quality components populating the pcb board. High quality audio grade electrolytic capacitors and orange drop caps throughout. Pcb is all through-hole and hand built. It's obviously a very high quality pedal even though it's a clone of a very popular pedal with a multiple-year long waiting list and a price that's inline with its rarity and quality.
    This clone costs about 20%(or less) of what a genuine one costs and it's the same exact pedal, it seems. I would even dare to say many of the components in it are better than what's in the original. 🤷

      I think it's a good pedal , the trick is running thru good amp. I run it thru vox ac15c1 (with greenback) and it's sounds very good. Plugged in thru headphones or bad sounding amp it will sound bad, like very bad broken fuzz pedal.
