Kamen rider suits ranked?
Kiva isn’t the heaviest. During Decade they weighed the suits of the main riders and Decade was actually the heaviest at the time might have been surpassed by now. Kiva’s problem was the awful weight distribution.

also takaiwa added a few weight. still funny tho decade has a minimalist design
i think, although Decade was heavier, it was more properly balanced. Kivas suit, while not being as heavy, was alot more imbalanced than Decades, which lead to some complications for Kivas suit actor

I thought it was Blade as the heaviest. EDIT: Blade is in second place. While Decade is indeed the first.
The best thing about W is that they were doing it in a much much smaller scale but made it extremely details. Fuuto city is so lively and feels like a character of its own. Throughout the series, we also learn more about the city and its people, it actually feels so real that i have to search to confirm that Fuuto is not a real city in Japan. And because we learn a lot and gaining attachment to the city, we sympathize more with the main protagonist, who is basically Batman but with a loud mouth. His passionate love with the city would not be convincing to the audience if the audience don't know anything about the city, but because Fuuto is such a beautiful windy city full of cool and hillarious persons it's way easier for audience to root for Shotarou to protect his city.

@CHB8 Fate/Zero isn't an entry for Fate Series. Fate/Stay Night is the entry for Fate/Series.
Other than F/Z, Urobutcher also was known for his Saya no Uta, Madoka Magica and Aldnoah Zero
It's relatively tame compared to his other works.

I think the white wizard is a really well polished villain in a Kamen rider series. Usually i dont like suits that are direct copy of the hero but the changes are so subtle, i really like it.

Having a Ryuuki-style battle royale with all previous Kamen Riders as combatants had blown my mind back then. :D

Decade is a weird one, since in his own show he's mid-tier at best, but him and DiEnd in Zi-O are God tier.
Also, I feel like Saber was hurt by the pandemic, or it might of been better. Ghost had no excuse. It's like they had a plan from ep1, then forgot wtf they were doing. Hell, their movie with Ichigo was entirely carried by Takeshi, since both Ghost and Spectre were useless as all hell.
Yeah Decade was a pretty hard one to place - feels almost like a bonus season lol
Actually, the reason why ghost came out the way it did was because the original idea was much darker, dealing with the concept of death more, but Toei thought it was too dark and demanded it to be rewritten, thus giving us what we have now.
@Acrimony_Toku yeah, it's just so odd they got to really shine outside their own season.
Even without the pandemic Saber would still be bad. The protagonist is such a contradiction and hard to root for. He's a writer but i rarely see him use his expertise, and his fighting skill is on par with those in the series who actually spend their life practicing sword?
Also Saber share the same director and writer as Ghost, so no wonder it's terrible
It hurts me to see Drive sow low, but the video is fantastic!

It's always cool to meet newer fans, you're gonna have a blast going down the KR rabbit hole lol - I think that me finding things to love about even the weaker seasons just goes to show why the series is so legendary and successful!
Showa and early heisei the plot is not laid out and it may confuse people, and the pacing is kinda bad. But when you figure it out, it actually decent show
Nowdays the plot is easier to guess, but the endgame always give you thrill especially episode 35 above

I suggest to watch all heisei phase and its movie first

Gaim on 13 and Faiz on 11 is shocking to me as you demonstrate quite a good review based on multiple logical aspects.
I always thought they're top 5 in my journey of KR considering their impact, designs, music, and an actually well-thought, beautiful story.
Fourze is my favorite. I'm happy with your placing on this list. It has its flaws but the KRC and Gentaro are just so loveable. You talked about how OOO made you tear up. Honestly, the 2nd to last episode of Fourze had me bawling. One final plus about Fourze is Meteor. Such an amazing suit.
Meteor does have an awesome suit, no doubt! I honestly think Fourze is one of the most fun Toku shows ever lol

Watching every single episode of Kamen Rider is dedication. Glad to see my favorite rider OOO near the top of the list. I only watched all the heisei riders and reiwa riders up to Gotchard. Also seen a few episodes of the original Kamen Rider

Ghost was the one I started with, so it's always got a special place in my heart. I had also started watching it the month my grandmother passed away so some of the themes were just what I needed at the time.
I can definitely see how Ghost would be impactful in that situation - condolences, my friend - It's cool to hear that it helped you through what I'm sure was a pretty tough time

I'd heard of Kamen Rider before, but Geats was the first time I actually watched a kamen rider.
The deaths right off the bat, and then the plot twists and mixture of crazy over the top action/sequences/events coupled with a spattering of solid dialogue hooked me really good.
What Kamen Riders would you say are closest to Geats in terms of great for adults who watch to watch something a bit deeper and mature?

25:30 Den-O is the first KR series that i watched. Ever since i saw him in the Super Hero Taisen with ToQger and Kyoryuger and Super Hero Senki, i know i had to watch it and i'm thankful i watch it ❤

I would say Saber doesn't deserve to be so far down the list. I think it's actually pretty good, once it gets past the first arc.
Fair enough, It definitely has bright spots - I tend to watch it when I'm having a rough week due to its cheerfulness
@@Acrimony_Toku I think Saber's problem is that it's improvements come after most viewers would have written off the series. Because that first arc is pretty bad.
To me, I think what I like about it ( the uniqueness and cheerfulness ) is also why I don't rewatch it as much as other seasons - kinda like I need to be in the mood for it due to how different it is
I do agree it's cheerful, but also, some moments in the last two arcs got really dark.
Nah second worst for 1 main reason saber final form is THE WORST they took normal saber and just thot what if we made it blue. Also fucking kenzan he was so useless u can replace him with a potted plant or a maniquin and the story will not have changed at all
My top threes are 1. W, 2. O1 and 3. Faiz. So I'm really happy, that my favourit rider is your's as well. 🔥 But I really couldn't understand why Geats is so high, and Saber is so low on the ranking. But I know, that many people feel like this. 🤔

Ghost was the show that got me into Kamen Rider so I will always have a soft spot for it in my heart, it taught me the value of living life as well during school days
I love your intake and opinion rating on these series. 65% of it I can agree with you.
Just remember, when the series was being made in the Showa era. Kamen Rider is meant to be Dark Gloomy and has a sad ending and for me as an old schooler that’s what I perceive as Rider.
That is from 1970-1994(if you count the Keita Amamiya Movies). The 4 main elements that makes a Kamen Rider back then is Brooding Hero, Motorcycle, insects(lizards/Amazon), Dark Horror themes and Cyborg.
When we got Kuuga, the lead characters (Rider) isn’t the cool, gloomy heroes but still we have captivating horror and Motorcycles Drama.
Decade is a worthy Anniversary and show to wrap up the Rider Generation but sadly it was the first series to be cancelled and replaced by executive and that is why now Rider series ends earlier in Late August and no longer wrap up with Super Sentai on February/March.
There was so much more you could have add with Decade especially exploring ZO and J.
Series from W-present is for future generation of young fan and it’s not for me. The only good thing is it’s keeping the Kamen Rider name afloat and it’s Japan’s cultural identity.
Other fact: KR Amazons(2016) is exclusively made for Jeff Bezo and his streaming service.
And more on Amazon: Gills is much more close to Amazon as he is more animalistic.
Both KR Punch and Kick is more of a homage to Ichigo and Nigo and yes their body structure is similar to Amazon.
The actor of Riderman is the first Full Rider to pass away from Cancer.

Thanks for the kind words! I definitely see the divide between the OG Rider series and the newer ones. I almost view them as different series in a way, whereas sometimes I'll be in the mood for something more stern and gritty ( Showa era ) and sometimes Ill be in the mood for something a bit more fun ( Heisei + Reiwa ). The Rider wiki says that EWHT died from asthma at only 27 which is indeed pretty depressing. Thanks for watching!

I know it's not objectively "the best" but Faiz will probably always be my favorite. The story is great, the soundtrack is amazing (I find myself absentmindedly whistling the songs even if I haven't watched in a while)... but the belts are what do it for me. There's very little in the way of theatrics- no yelling belt voices or music, no stupid dances... if you have a belt, know its code, and have enough Orphenoch DNA in your system to support it, you can be a Kamen Rider.

I don’t know anything about Kamen Rider at all, never seen a second of the show outside of this video. But the suits in Ghost are insanely gorgeous. Sucks that it got the last spot, I genuinely wanted to start the show because of that orange ghost suit. Love the helmet so much

There are several points I disagree with on a personal level but Drive and Gaim are criminally low even based on the fandom in general. Both are very highly received as far as I know and I have them in my top 5 (although I am biased since I haven't seen anything pre Den-O. Also Build is the best season!! though I love W and its in my top three.

I really hope more KR shows got an anime..the fights is so good animated..while in the live action(the original) is a bit limited and sometimes the cgi makes it looks funny..

Gaim and Kuuga doesn't deserve to be that low and Kabuto doesn't deserve to be that high.
Kabuto had way too many filler arc (I think there's like 3 multi episode arc about cooking) and lot of the tertiary rider are just not interesting.
Gaim should be higher, not only because it's one of the best writing in Heisei rider but also because it broke several bad tradition since Den-O like monster of the bi-week, no continuous plot and overuse of CGI. Gaim also have the highest female fan among riders.. to the point that most of the special is basically fujobait.
Lol I love the cooking angle of Kabuto because it's very unique - difference of opinion

It's honestly a good question lol - The tone is almost perfect, great song, and the characters are really good - It's probably a nitpick, but it loses a few points due to the car theme being so prevalent in Toku with Sentai ( although less so in KR ) - like I said, just a nitpick because Drive did a lot of things right!
I do love drive as it was my first rider so i am a bit biased, BUT i dont think it was an exemplary rider season, it's just pretty average for a rider season. I thought the car theme was fine, because gaim was so popular I think Toei wanted something new to shift the attention over to drive. I fine with acrimony's taste in Kamen Rider.

@@Acrimony_Toku even though most of my top five is somehow in your bottom 20 ( below 10 fourze,gaim AND ryuki? cmon now) you didnt really bad mouth any of the series- my number 3 show of all kamen rider(i lack showa watch time) is ghost. the main bad guy and our secondaries last arch kinda wimped out- but history- the suits having hoods the ghost and eye symbols meshing perfectly- like all that kicked ass. one of the best final forms too infinite is wonderful to look at. and to put it bluntly it doesnt deserve thebottom- yet you really didnt rag on it. which just tells me theres not really a bad kamen rider- just one that doesnt fully live up to its infinite potential.
@@namelssssnake9466 is kuuga generic? i never really see other riders plan around their super atomic bomb level attacks. but he straight up costs the city money with his and they have to work togetehr to drag enemies into places he can use it safely. oh and his beat down of the one monster that targeted kids. that was a moment ive never really seen since. way more raw than simular scenes later down the line.

I have never watched the Showa era, I am not going to rank them. Storyline wise, my favourite Kamen Rider series would have to be W, Geats, Den-O, Agito, Faiz.
Theme-wise: Ex-Aid, Build, Fourze, Zero-One, Drive.
My bottom shows: Wizard, Kiva, Saber, Ghost, Zi-O.
My overall top 5:
W- for the same reason you said.
Den-O: I like the fact that Ryotaro, Yuuta, and Hana were all connected. Yuuta and Airi is tragic to me because every time he transforms he runs the risks of people forgetting about him and Hana’s timeline being erased and how she is trying to get it back.
Geats: the fact that all four riders got character arc. Also, the villains had nuance. The storyline was awesome
Ex-Aid will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s my gateway to Kamen Rider
Build: for the very reason you said. That being said, I love the opening the first time I heard it, I was like, I am putting this on my playlist.
Those four I definitely watched more than once. I just finished Geats and definitely know I will watch it again.
The reason why Zi-O is in the bottom for me, is the fact that even though it was an anniversary season, it was very underwhelming. My biggest gripe was the resurrection of three characters that had died in their respective shows and with the two characters their death had meaning, to make it seem like nothing happened, the other guy I was relieve he died, I could have done without him.
Also Geiz carried the show, I didn’t care for Tsukiyomi as a Rider. They made it sound it like she was more powerful than Swartz but she had nothing to show for that.
It’s funny how you mentioned how Masaki Suda’s (Philip) last appearance. The same thing could be said about Takeru Sato (Ryotaro). He only appeared briefly in the last Den-O movie. He is actually one of the most sought after actors. Someone mentioned about how after Ninninger, the actors shot to stardom. I would say that about a lot of the Toku actors. For some of them Toku is not their first acting gig but others Toku shot their acting career.

KR Black is a legend. show me any other KR series will make you care about those rider's bike like Black's Battle Hopper.

Kamen Rider Black and RX is one of the few Kamen Rider series where the main character is the same actor and the series that passed the torch to the next generation which is Kuuga.
decade was a last minute thing, but even that, decade still got one of the most fans😅

I'd like to see another Kamen Rider with a biologically made suit like Gills.
Kiva that high is crazy given how the second half of the show is Twilight: Rider edition and how Wataru feels like someone tried to copy Ryotaro without understanding what made Ryotaro work as a hero, though the OST, suits and the 80s cast was pretty neat, also 753.

Amazing franchise and it's honestly heartbreaking to me sometimes that it's relatively unknown to the average person in the west
Feels like everyone's first entry is the favorite. First one for me was 000, as I see the commercial during Gokaiger (which was my first Sentai).
I loved the relationship between Eiji and Ankh, mixed with hate and disgust, but they lately admit that they were friends.
RX is one of my personal favorites, but I understand it's ranking. On its own, it's good but not the best ever. But it's a fun companion to Black - and it doesn't rob the original series of its impact in any way, which I love. The RX costume is still much better than the standard Black though.
Ryuki and Agito should be higher but nice list.

It's a shame that OOO never had any follow-up media after the 2010s, and we never really had an answer for Ankh's return, sigh. But well, maybe it's for the best, they would probably mess it up any way.

OOO 10th aniv had me tearing up lol, hopefully we get a 20th film in the future ( Toei seems to be making a lot of them lately )
@@Acrimony_Toku I know... but after 10 years of waiting for an answer, the anni just feel a bit bitter. I know that Eiji's death is true to his character, and it works... But every other part just kinda drags and sometimes come out of nowhere, it took the ending down a notch. 10 years and the pair of friends only had less than 5 minutes of real conversation. Also they wasted Birth, dang it.
Kamen Rider Black is the first tier in Indonesia, because rarely to watch other Kamen Rider (we are short of good tv programs).
We can also call the Kamen Rider Black as Kesatria Batang Hitam
Ghost is one of my top 5 seasons, hurts to see it literally dead last. I have a personal, less objective appreciation of Saber too, and it’s second last, sheeeesh. Kiva is far and away the worst I’ve seen, love Agito and Faiz from Inoue, some of the best Rider seasons, but he also wrote the worst Heisei season imo. Need to finish all the Showa stuff still.
P.S. How would you stack up the Amazons seasons and Black Sun?
At least in my defense, I wouldn't call any of these "bad" - goes to show the level of quality in the franchise lol. Even Ghost and Saber are still enjoyable to me when I'm feeling something different.
Amazons is pretty entertaining but TBH I found Black Sun pretty boring for 75% of the story lol

Decade being the destroyer,
ZiO being he’s destined to be the main villain
ReVice being the mix of human and “demon”
Ex-Aid being his connection to the main rival (he has the red/blue suit because that makes purple 😉 notice how many villain leaning riders have purple) - iirc “ExAid” was what they called a 1Up in Japan, at least back in the 90’s (Doctors save lives, and so do gamers 😉)

i always though kamen rider was a bug hero, i only heard of it when from super sentai when i was doing research on power ranger and now the game cuz it looks cool
Totally agree with W's placement. Besides the solid action, it had one of the best character-driven narratives we've had in the franchise, with the talent to help it land. The emotional rollercoaster the last few episodes puts the viewer through is just peak for the genre.

thats precisely why Kuuga and Double is my favourite
Kuuga, feels really "real". Because the story setting. Its basicaly yet another detective story. But more of homicide focus. And you can believe its actualy happening in real world. at least for the time era. A mysterious monster that can blend in society and commit very sophisticated way of killing people that basically become serial killer, that needs to be understand the pattern and motive. And our yuusuke is not magically understood his potential, he needs help to decipher ancient writing. And what i like the most of this show is.. again, its real world setting the people are actualy alive, the police force is not simply disposable grunt. Its not over the top evil organization that wants to dominate the world. they are simply ancient people with obsession to complete very complicated ritual in order to gain ultimate power.
Double is a simple story. the scale of the world is so small. Its a fun detective story that revolves around a single windy city. Shoutaro is like the comedic version of Oreki Houtaro from anime Hyouka. He is an analyst that can come up with conclusion. Along with his "database" friend.
I like Kiva simply because the complexity of the story. It feels like one of the story that was already well written before the production start. Because there's 2 sides of the story of the past and present, filling the mystery surrounding our main characters existence. Its basically the tragic love story of kiva and friend's "parents". The Fangire existence is actualy more believable than the very existence, purpose, and funding of subarashiki aozora organization. Its weird and doesnt make any sense.
I also like Kabuto because.. Tendou Souji is that cool. The story is a mess, some of the episodes are straight up filler episodes, but Tendou Souji character alone carried up the show at least for me
And i'll be frank here, i kinda hate most of riders after fourze. Because they are Loud and Noisy. And often over the top.
To be fair, I only watch all from Kuuga to Oz, skip to gaim then Drive. and not all of Zi-O (basically missed the middle episodes)

My top 5 (you guys are going to hate me) from 1 to 5: Decade, Blade, Geats, Ryuki, and OOO. Decade is how I got into Kamen Rider in the first place. His way of saying you don’t need to be the main character really changes a lot in the plot.
I never would've guessed that all these time I've been trying to watch full episodes of Kamen Rider seasons only to find most of it boring(?) is caused by the time I got into it. Coincidentally, my first KR ever was OOO back in highschool and ever since then I've been trying to watch the others by comparing it to OOO 😂. The only KR I've finished after watching OOO was Fourze and Ex-Aid lol, others were like dropped after ep 20ish.

I don’t recommend watching what people like first. I say start with whatever seems nice to you! Maybe a suit catches your eyes, clip seems cool, etc. watch whatever you think is interesting first!
Also you don’t HAVE to skip the shows that many dislike, like ghost or saber.

storywise, my top 5 list is W, Build, Kabuto, Drive, Gaim
showa and early heishi that are really good watch is OG kamen rider, black, kuuga and faiz
so far reiwa only , zero one and geats suit to my taste, TOEI nowdays going for lot of rider since it give them toy marketing purpose, but so far only those 2 series, for me, have decent character build up for them to be called rider.

Yeah I've gotten quite a bit of backlash for Drive, and in retrospect It probably deserved to be higher - but being a Sentai fan as well means I've seen a lot of car and vehicle themed Toku shows, as well as police themed Toku shows so the theme is a bit played lol - In a vacuum it definitely is really good and Who wouldnt want a KR opening sung by KR Eternal lol
I am so much in agreement with most of the shows in your top 5 list. Build, Gaim, Kabuto, and now W (Which i am watching now and enjoying so far) and Kuuga (watching too but decided to go with W first) . Didn't like the feels of Drive personally from the getgo (riders design, main actor) so i am skipping it. But those 4 right there, definite in the tops for me. I do have a soft spot for Zero-One too, one of the cleanest looking kamen rider designs in the new Reiwa era and i like the henshin + special effects and finisher moves. Aruto is also generally quite a likable good-guy rider

This is such a great vid, great timing for me who's trying to rewatch and watch any that I didn't watch yet! Even though it's a ranking but you still did a great job summarizing and gives a good review. Now I'm really interested watching gaim because I didn't expect for it to be dark as I find it goofy that they have a fruits theme and have a literal orange drop on his head lol
This is just my opinions that I wanted to talk about because I feel like writing it
1. I didn't expect wizard to be that low because I find it quite enjoyable but at the same time I understand why it's so low
2. I'm currently trying to watch ghost because I find the concept is pretty interesting and I like the suit too because of a hoodie but somehow I didn't enjoy it for no reason so seeing it's ranked low means it is indeed not that good
3. I'm surprised that kiva is in the top 10 because I thought it's pretty underrated and people wouldn't like the plot much. Personally it's my fav and bias towards it, I love every theme/motif they included in the show, I even created an OC based on kiva. It's also become the reason I started to like violin and even dream of having one
4. I'm also surprised that build is ranked that high because even though I also like it but I'm not fan of war story, I feel like it's quite repetitive having touto being attacked twice and have to duel again but then I understand that it's war so it's not easy n simple to end it. I love sento because of his smile but then seeing him losing his smile and got beaten got me frustrated but he got a nice development with a great ending. A great writing indeed and all the characters are likeable
Just to add but I remember watching OOO as a young teen and find that dude with doll as the creepiest villain I have ever seen and are really scared of him everytime he appears lol

Gotta say, I don't know if Decade was really "fan service". It didn't treat past Rider protagonists with respect for the most part, making them incompetent and/or weak. I also disliked what the series did to Kenzaki/Blade and Wataru/Kiva. The plot didn't make much sense either, especially when you didn't watch the movies.
Similar to the above, Zi-O had some pretty jarring moments too. I did like Tsukasa/Decade's reappearance though.
Also, pretty sure Keisuke/X wasn't that "driven to vengeance with stone cold focus", btw.
