So I have the 2012 rspec sedan. For anyone having this issue, you can simply just turn the car off. Push the start button once without your foot on the break, wait for the GPS unit to load, and then start the car. This happens when the computer doesn't have enough time to load the audio drivers before the transmission is engaged. Happy travels homies!
SAME ISSUE - APPARENTLY DIFFERENT PROBLEM? Just wanted to share my experience - I have a 2009 Gen 4.6 - obviously well out of warranty now - had this same issue crop up a few weeks ago (summer 2016) and immediately hit the web to search for a solution and found this video as well as dozens of forum posts that were several years old. Just like this guy, my audio suddenly cut-out on the way to work one day. The NAV worked, I could load a CD and roll through the tracks, USB drive worked, I just couldn't get any audio from anything. The strange thing for me, I would "spin" through the XM stations and even FM station, and it was sluggish, and in some cases the XM channel would not change. a box kept coming up across the screen saying LOADING... I tried this FUSE fix, which did not work. I went in the trunk and disconnected the battery - same thing - it did not work. For a few days I had no sound, with the occasional really loud squeaky sound. Then about 3 days into the silence, it suddenly came back on? Then over the the next week or so, it came on, came off, didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Finally, I found a thread where someone's bluetooth was causing problems. I have an iPhone 6S running IOS 9.3.5 and have it paired with the car. I unpaired my phone from the car, and went into the settings on the car and turned bluetooth OFF. I then did the fuse reset thing, and turned the XM to channel 1 and called Sirius and had them send a reset signal. About 1 minute later, my audio kicked back on. It has been about 2 solid weeks now without a single issue. I have had the audio on every day while in the car for 2-3 hours a day, have played CDs, listened to Sirius/XM, and listened to memory stick MP3 - absolutely no problems so far. I suspect the root of the problem had something to do with the BLUETOOTH and the interaction with my iPhone?
Thanks, that worked for me. I have an adapter for Bluetooth in the arm rest, disconnected it and started the audio without starting the car, audio fixed! AMS
i don’t know what is the issue with my car i go to dealership they told me amplifier is good. Everything is good radio the time to replace the sound system speaker it’s cost me $2000 to speaker.
So I just solved this issue on my 2011 with the Lexicon system and here’s what I did, I went into the trunk and took out the passenger side inner liner, behind it you will find the AMP, simply unplug and replug the wires on the back and everything worked once I turned the car on. Hope this helps!
There is a simple fix for this (it needs the radio amp reset) DO THIS: ************************************************************** Need to pull Audio 10 amp Fuse in Driver side fuse box - Shut OFF ignition - Get fuse PULLER from PASS Fuse Box (White - lower left) - Pull 10 amp AUDIO FUSE from DRV side fuse box (TOP LEFT #1) - Audio should return upon start with fuse OUT - Put fuse back into fuse box - CLOSE ************************************************************* FredS
Mine had the same issue, my warranty replace the whole radio unit, then worked for while (8 months to be exact). Now... The same issue just happened again. Will try again in the morning and see if it returns.
For anyone who is trying to fix this issue, simply push the ON button without your foot on the brake, wait for the alert telling you to put you foot on the brake. Then start the car as normal.
The tech package or fully equipped models don't have that feature, oddly enough. You have that on models with the base display/no tech package or on the 2013+ models.
