Okay...I've waited long enough for someone to point this out - but since no one has, it's up to me to say something. Did anyone besides me recognize Lew's tenor voice in this version of the song? Jimmie's mug is shown in the various photos of the group in this video, but this version was recorded before he became a member.
I was named after an actor on a Dixie Cup top. My mother had a dixie cup ice cream and she said if the actor on the top was a man, she'd name after him. Alan Ladd was on the top.
Do I remember these? Yes I surely do because I lived them. I remember when the sign on the McDonald's hamburger place said: "1,000,000 sold." Now I'm dating myself.

This song brings back a lot of memories of the time when I was growing up. Sometimes the nostalgic feeling is so strong, I tear up a little (Don't tell anybody. It'd ruin my image), but I still love listening to it. R.I.P. Harold Reid.

The young people today don't know what good music is. I love the Statlers, Alabama and Oak Ridge Boys.
What a class act! They are way before my time but I don't care. I love The Statlers! 👍
Four foul balls you're out, because you only had so much time to play before mom started yelling to come home..lol
I was born in 60s so remember some of this.
