Loved the video, really nice to see inside the building of CCP Games! The landscapes in Iceland look amazing, I may have to visit and also stop by your building sometime.
+rolf ski The thing with the new player experience is you have to join a corp. You miss too much of the game without it. I personally walk new players through EVE, whenever they show up asking for help in Karmafleet corp chat. The "New player experience" in KF is signing up for Gooniversity, getting a personal mentor, getting unlimited T1 fit frigs to have fun in, getting free skillbooks, and usually having an older player dump a couple hundred million isk in your wallet. And with how ludicrously rich Goonswarm is getting (we now have a doctrine called Yachtfleet, every ship but the T2 fit Macharial DPS has 10+ faction mods. The cheapest ship is 650 million isk. And we can afford to lose these.) it wouldn't surprise me if we start giving out skill extractors to new players. I doubt anything will come of that untill prices drop, by a LOT, but it's possible.
Galileo Gaming But the thing is Goonswarm is in nullsec, 95% of the new players never makes it to nullsec. They already dropped out of this game halfway grinding through incredibly boring text missions.
Just a few things i noted: I assume the wall of swords is in case of a wardec on the icelandic HQ they can grab a weapon quickly and destroy any raiders intent on pillaging the studio. Also, I hereby christen that wall "The Armory". During down time CCP should just post a live webcam of their aquarium so players have something to watch, help them relax, and keep them entertained while tranquility is being worked on. They could really do a charity raffle during Fanfest and give the winner a personal tour of the entire place. Props to all the people behind the scenes that keep the HQ running by the way! Cool tour in my opinion.
wow, I am not a big fan of eve online, but your office is lovely. The companies I worked for, including Symantec in Mountain view site, is nothing compare to this.
Just in time to post three new job openings. :D The other offices probably aren't as "HQ" but would be intriguing to see them all. Also some select annotations for the sake of team spaces and viewers who don't understand the swords. ;)
It's been almost 9 months since I left New Eden.. probably the deepest game universe out there. Nostalgic. o7 to the Itsukame-Zainou pilots. Fly safe guys!
I like the home feel to it, it's toned and cozy, unlike the "look how uncomfortable, hipster and colorful our rooms are" thing some companies have (looks at Google)
The offices look like they are roomy enough so people don't feel like they're in a box. Having the food and 'downtime' areas well equipped help immensely when a person is burnt out and needs to take a break for a few minutes.
