As far as the Megathron having or not having an armor repper: his fitfail is bigger than that. He's got multiple slots wasted on fittings that are compensating for lack of skillpoints. Replace those with appropriate PvP or PvE fittings, and this would have gone differently.

Look, the Iteron came in, looted some wrecks, so the Megathron had the right to kill the Iteron, the Megathron opened fire, then the Iteron had rights to open fire back, it won.
Who the hell buffer tanks a solo mission boat? Seriously? I don't want to take away from the Itty pilot's achievement, because that kill was awesome, but that is probably the worst mission Mega I've ever seen.

Signature radius/explosion velocity plays a big part on taking on missile ships, and is the reason why i would never take one on in an iteron. I never ran the numbers but loki boosts with a strong X-Instinct plus the right implants could have been pretty interesting.. the fit though would be absolutely ridiculous
looked like 3 armor reps, 2 reactive plates in the lows. afterburner, warp jam, web and i think 2 cap batteries in the mids, and depending on this iteron pilots skills, id say tech 2 blaster and a cap booster in the high slots.
If he had reps and solid cap stability (you can run only 1 rep out of 2, saving cap for that neut), that Iteron could not kill him. But yeah, ship scanners. Not to mention stupid of him to start shooting that guy in a first place. But hey, everyone makes mistakes. This one won't be so stupid again.

This is what makes EVE great. Stupid fits get stupid kills. The passive fit this pilot was rocking was failed, and failed the pilot. For anyone looking for the actual why a hauler beat a battleship: First, rail guns are always bested by range. Second, the loot is never worth it. Third, the loot is never worth it. This is how they learn though, she'll never fire on another looter again. It's simple, if your ship is worth more combined than the loot they're after=don't fire on the looter.

Expensive lesson for him but by all means, but this was the type you were targeting, a noob mission runner. You try soloing someone with that in low/null and see if you get the same results.

He had railguns fitted and that itty mark V was hugging the megathron so the guns wasent able to track
