My Opinion About Why Some Black Women Self Hate Pt. 1 | Opinion Piece

In this one, I talk about why I think some black women self-hate. This was a subject I felt strongly about because it's now coming out that some young black girls hate being black. I was once that girl, and I talk about what, over the years made me hate being a "black" girl. I also talk about what it took for me to break out of that pattern and how I still struggle with self-hate.
I wasn't going to release this video at first. But after hearing the words of Adigun Forest (Jason Revoalt), I felt I had a responsibility as a woman almost in her 50s, to remind black girls and women that we are deserving of love and self-love. Black women are some of the most reviled, loathed, and hated humans in the world today. We are hated by people of other races and most heartbreakingly, by each other!
More and more black men are turning their backs on us. The likes of men like Adigun Forest, Kevin Samuels, and Tommy Sotomayor do all they can to talk down about black women. They want to make us feel less than like we are not deserving of love or self-love. I made this video to let other black women know that those demons are liars!
Join me as I try to let other black girls and women out there know they are not alone. The words and ignorant actions of others should not be their cross to bear. Let's stamp out self-hatred!
