    Great video ,as always👍. Watched your video on KTM 1290 GT other day/ got a dilemma now between that and a GS 🤔. Good friend of mine bought a GS ,not GSA / after years of riding sports bikes. He loves GS, and it’s funny I thought if I went that route I would go all way get GS Adventure, so this video is helpful to me right now . Looking forward to your next video. 👍🇬🇧

    I am back for good in Germany! I had to leave back my ZX14R in US as it was too difficult and too expensive to get the bike here on the road. Yesterday I bought my R1250GSA. Many Thanks for the video and hope to meet you one time ...

    Was waiting for your review on the GSA. As always a great review. mines coming in May for my 40th. Your comment on the color....after deliberating for over a month I chose the Kalamatta. Just don’t like the gold rims. Also lots of HP Style variant on the road. This offers some “exclusivity” 😉

    • @samsara3694

    Nice review. I compared both versions by riding. GS and GSA. I also admit GSA gives a better satured and more comfy feeling. I did not expected. Now I am confused because I wanted the standard GS. My brain tells me GS because it is lighter. My belly and ass goes directly to the GSA. I don't understand where the difference comes from. And what about GSA 2018 Vs. GSA 2019?
    Btw. What about testing Suzie's V-Strom 1000XT?

    Thx for another excellent review (good job - YOU ‘ve nothing to prove indeed) this time about “the 🐷 “ ... 😅👌🏻 ... just rode the GS, wasn’t impressed that much, cause I love the nakeds (r1250r), but what a wonderfull display and handlebar 😍. So now: curious about that beast. Cost more than my nearly new Passat Variant from 2018 🤷‍♂️ ... who the f... can afford it ?

    Nice review as your usual style.. I am in a confused zone right now to either go for the GS1250 or the GSA1250.. i have tried the GS1250 but the dealers here dont have the GSA for test ride... So i really wanna know if you take this GSA as a daily commuting bike ? I loved the handling of the GS but am bit worried about the GSA... dont wanna take something that would make me think twice before taking it on the road..
    What camera or the lens did you use on the chin ? Looks sleek..
    Thanks!

    the paint quality is not good, because already after a few hundred km the clear paint on my milled aluminium tank becomes dull and matt on both sides of the knee and shows strong scratches, although I was on my way with the Rallye2 trousers with leather protection on the knees. I never had these problems with my 2013 air-cooled GSA 90-year edition and its predecessors. Since BMW doesn't offer tank pads for the GSA, I had to cut my own out of paint protection film - quite embarrassing for a 20.000€ bike.

    Nice video, how would you rate the the GSA against the tiger 1200 XCA, greetings from Canberra, Australia

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому +2

      Thanks Kanguro, well I'd take weight that is low over weight that is high and more torque over more power any day. With that said, the KTM 1290 Adv and GSA are the ones fighting for first place and the XCa is coming in third. Looks though...hmm...that is different, the XCa looks really good.
      On a side note, one day I'd like to visit down under, I just love your culture, so straight forward, forth-coming and brutally honest, I just love that, I'd move there in a heart beat if the opportunity presented itself.

    Great review. I also watched your RS 1000km review. Question please. In your opinion GSA or RS for purely tarmac use? I am 6'1 and 50% of my riding is with a pillion? I would fit bar risers, lower pegs and taller screen on the RS(just for info) Thanks.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you.
      For two up riding I'd take the GSA over the RS any day. The GSA actually pulls away from the RS on corner exits because of the gearing is lower and the RS is longer. But this limits the GSA's top speed to around 220kph and the RS goes to 240kph. But who really goes those speeds anyway. Also wind protection is better on the GSA. The pegs scrape sooner on the RS too. Yes the RS looks better but the GSA is better when you are riding it 👍😁
      Ride safe,
      Scott

    I'm really curious as to how you found the wind protector to be on the GSA vs standard GS?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 роки тому +1

      Really not much difference from what I remember. If you really want more protection you have to go to an after market screen, like MRA, GIVI, Wunderlich, Puig...etc. AND they don't vibrate/shake like the stock screen on the GSA...at least the MRA screen doesn't, I think it's because it a little bit thicker material being used and the MRA feels a bit more solid.

    Assuming the seat is in its lowest position and you had that lowered version, what would the seat height be at?

    • @NothingToProve

      Hi Fraket, at 4:15 in the video I list all 3 seat heights, for the GSA, then GS normal, and then GS low, which is 31.5 to 32.28 in. I'm not aware if one can lower the GSA, but as usual one can probably find a way to lower the GSA.

    i think the bmw adventure is a motorcycle which replaces 4 motorcycles at the same time...you can ride with the adventure if you want on the highway very fast many, many km, you can ride in the off road terrain super easy, winding mountains is no problem...i ride a gs adventure´14 myself and i am fully satisfied with it but next year i will buy the 1250 gs a
    also the big fat tank gives me an additional protected feeling almost like in a car, you think you are not sitting on the motorcycle but in it! :-)

And I was serious that I did get it stuck last year where I pointed to, it's kind of funny now but then when I was getting it un-stuck, not so funny. It took about 15 mins. to get it un-stuck. BUT I never dropped it during that ride.

    Sorry this bike has no real trail cred for me, about the same as a Buick. I will buy the highway and touring expertise. The GS and GSA may be getting better but it is getting heavier, more expensive and still in my opinion a less handsome bike. If I went around the world like Ewan and Charlie I would pick a bike that was a lot lighter and capable off road, they needed a support team to weld, push, haul and pickup those beasts.

    • @justdad53
      @justdad53 5 років тому +1

      @Michael Burnside - I have seen some guys do things with GSs that seems impossible, you may be one of those guys. The build quality of al the top brands are excellent. In the U.S. the NHSTA listed the recalls for 2016-2017 Yamaha had 16, BMW and Honda had 14 which were the most so I am less convinced on BMW reliability. Those 14 recalls affected over 81,626 bikes that is more than Ducati, Triumph and Kawasaki combined. However, I will say BMW customer satisfaction is still very good despite the recalls.

    • @justdad53

      I think the words off road are used too often when what should be said is off pavement. If a Toyota Prius can safely navigate the trail is it really off road?
