Loving the studio set up Robin. The Pocket 3 is producing good video for you. Onward to 1000 subscribers.
There sensors are all still 4/3 format when their frames are filled which explains why the 1” isn’t a true 1” sensor.
Thanks, I'm loving the pocket 3. I'm getting there with the studio, i painted the wall grey, added a shelf, and a bench 😀
It would be nice if they could come up with a different sensor size system. Just a surface area would do, but I'm no expert on cameras, so the current system must be correct.
Trabalho de qualidade, interessante esta mensuração e a comparação.
Thanks for the compliment ☺️
Best comparison i've seen yet well explained
Thanks, I tried to find a video like this to watch myself. But I couldn't find one. So I got the 3d printer out and printed the sensors in actual size as I wanted to show people how big they actually are. 😀
Muito bom seu vídeo meu amigo, continue sempre com esse belo trabalho.
Thank you 😊 I'll try to keep on posting my videos
Goggle read my mind of what I wanted to know and sent me here. I use the mini 2 SE and did not realiy understand sensor labeling without seeing actual size. Thanks.
Me too I didn't understand sensor sizing. The fact they give you the information in fractions of an inch that don't even add up! A 1 inch sensor doesn't measure 1 inch diagonally! 🤔 Mind boggling
Glad you found the video useful 👍
The great thing about Robin’s channel if that it doesn’t flood you with overly ornate post-production. It’s like an episode of Dragnet from the late 60’s. Honest and to the point information for the basic hobbyist. I personally never miss one of his videos.
Thanks for the compliment 😁.
I find video editing very time-consuming, so I don't bother wasting time with all the effects, etc..
Plus, I don't know how to do it, ha ha
@@RobinDrones Thanks for keeping it simple, Robin.
Great video mate, very informative 👍
Thanks 👍
awesome comparison well done 👍
Thanks! 👍
I think the most common size for mini drones is the 1/2.6. The 1/2.3 is so much better than the 1/2.6 (Mavic Mini vs HZMSE) so having a 1/3" in the ATOM seems ludicrous no?
Yes, on paper, it would appear that the Atom would have rubbish image quality because of the small sensor, but with enough light, it's good. I would imagine they fitted that sensor to lower the cost so they undercut Dji. Because at launch it was around 25% cheaper than the mini 2 se
@@RobinDrones I honestly had never seen a 1/3" sensor before. I was so close to buying it... Maybe V2 will have at least a 1/2" one.
Yep, I nearly didn't buy it after seeing the sensor size smaller than most other drones. But it does seem to get good image quality for the price. I got it because I wanted tracking and waypoints. To get both of these, I would have had to get the mini 4 Pro at £879 with 3 batteries, charging hub + bag.
The Atom was £314
So Saving £565!
So I then bought the avata with the goggles for £569.
That being said, maybe I should have gone for the mini 4 pro to get the best quality image 🤔
It's very hard to pick from all these drones looking at the price to performance ratio 😕
@@RobinDrones : The cheapest option now is the Fimi X8 Mini at less than $250... I can see the attraction to the Atom.. and when their V2 comes along I will jump on the wagon.
Brilliant information Robin.
Thank you. I feel like we should be taught this in school! Ha ha
@@RobinDrones they used to say it’s not about the size it’s how you use it. Haha
Ha ha very true 👍 😄
Have you considered getting a mini 3/4? I have had the mini 2 for last 3 months and loved it. But after seeing what the mini 3 pro can do compared to it and picking it up for £549 in black friday deals i had to to extend the DJI family range
I have considered it, but I'm happy with the mini 2 se at the mo. I actually recently chose the Pocket 3 gimbal camera over another drone (mini 3 pro) at this point in time. Enjoy the mini 3 Pro it looks like an amazing bit of kit 👌
Interesting! Looking at your drone there Robin have you stripped the wrap off?
Yes, unfortunately, i took it off.
It was peeling off, so I didn't want to catch the wind while flying.
Hope you found the video useful as all these old school inch numbers on sensor sizes are confusing.
Enjoy all your vids Robin!👍
Nice 👍
Thanks 👍
