Great posting. After watching many reviews on the Mini 2Se i finally purchased one. I flew it last weekend at my 70 acre recrestional property. I'm so pleased with it over the previous 2 drones that i had owned. Very stable, great photo and video quality and it never lost signal even after 18 minutes of flying my entire property. Thank you for an honest review that helped me purchase just what i was looking for at a price i could afford.
Owning 70 acres of recreational property you can afford any drone you want ! but for $449.00 for the bundle most people can afford that and so easy to fly their like lays potato chips it's hard to have just one
@@johndhead1 It must be nice to have 70 acres of land good investment plenty of land to fly your drone around instead of going to a park to fly it how do you like your drone so far.
@@brucedon1951 I love it. I'm planning on using it tomorrow to video the eclipse! I'll fly it up to 400 ft and point it toward the city of Rochester and video the city as it goes from light to dark and then back again.
@@johndhead1 That will be amazing see if you could post it ! I grew up in Buffalo and been living in Oklahoma for a while now Amazon is delivering my drone today maybe during the eclipse gotta wait for him
LOL, I totally agree and appreciate the comment. You and I are terrestrial creatures and controlling a flying robot that can give us a view from 300' overhead is magical. I've been flying these newer drones for close to 20 years and it still excites me.
I absolutely love this guys enthusiasm. He’s definitely doing what he loves and it’s amazing! Thank you for the great review. Just purchased one as my first drone!
Thats what im thinking. For now i dont plan on everyday use. And just fly and record for fun. Not a professional photographer either. Think i might start with this drone and upgrade later if I really feel like it.
@@Dronevalley Will do, took delivery of a Mini2 SE yesterday so hoping to get it up in the air in the next couple of weeks... first drone so taking my time with it
you know what i just bought this drone for getting footage of my own motorcycle group i was a little worried if this drone would work but your video has just put my mind at rest so thank you and tbh your very fun and entertaining to watch subscribed
I have to worry about wind where I am, so, verifying it can handle it is great! Was 900 feet the furthest you went? How about another video that is on a calmer day so you can do a reasonable range test? Then, you can also do the 180 degree pan(9 pics stitched together) and the regular pan with 6 stitched? Great stuff, thanks!
HI, I just got the DJI mini 2 SE for a fathers day gift this is my first Drone. I was also given a small Apple phone I flew it once took a picture turned out great! The kids made me get my Trust Certificate and we where going to fly it again at the park did not work :( Son was mad sent it back for replacement. I would like to know about your iPad mini Tablet what model is it, how big is the screen? Thank for your help
Do you have or know where I can find sample photos taken with the DJI Mini 2 SE? (When I search I keep getting the Mini 2 instead) - also after shots of closeup targets e.g. I want to get good photos of a roof of a house and see the condition of the chimney etc.
I love how giddy you are over this haha, this seems like the kind of drone ive been looking for, a bit more expensive but seems well worth it compared to a 150 dollar thing i got , awesome video, thanks!
Hi Rick, Thanks for sharing the video. Great as usual. I still can’t decide if I should go with the mini 2 or mini 2 SE. The are both great drones though. Any advise which one should I choose? I am new to the hobby. Thanks buddy!
This will be tricky because DJI matches the camera sensor to the image processor they use for each drone. This means they are designed as a pair and the electronics will not be able to take advantage of the higher resolution sensor if you were to change the camera. The Mini 2SE is an awesome drone and will deliver some stunning video and pictures with the sensor it has. If you really want better images, you can upgrade to the Mini 4 Pro. I hope that helps. Rick
This may seem a stupid question but, is it possible to disable gps and do a little light "freestyle" with the Mini 2 SE? I'm not into full blown race drone fpv but would enjoy doing a little flying here and there where the photography isn't necessarily the main goal....
It has a sport setting and you can tweak the responsiveness, it's pretty responsive in sport mode...and you can adjust the gimbal setting to give FPV. I'm not sure what you mean by disable the GPS? It doesn't have the functionality to say follow a GPS path, the GPS only shows you where the drone is and highlights things like no fly zones. It's also got ground avoidance but not other obstacle avoidance.
How can this be a bad first drone purchase? The main downside I see besides the camera sensor size with the mini 2se is the fact that DJI are not openly planning to add it to the sdk list of supported drones for now whereas the mini 3 support was just released. The difference in video on an upcoming 50” panel is negligible to my eyes.
Im watching vids on this and the potensic atom 3 axis. So far, they're both really nice flyers and similar pic quality. The potensic got 1.8 miles over water before video chopping up. Not that ill be doing that, lol. Thanks for the vid!
I'd lean towards the Mini 2 SE if you're still deciding. The Potensic is a new company and don't have a very long track record. The other huge thing is that their smaller drones don't use a gimbal for stabilization and it's all done electronically. The Mini 2 SE uses a 3-axis gimbal and it's like night and day for stabilization. Plus the Mini 2 SE has better range and more automated flight and safety features. I hope that helps and here's a link - amzn.to/48jnFlU
The motors on the DJI gear are designed to last for the life of the drone. I've been flying all of their drones for years and have never changed a motor. Make sure you get a few extra sets of props as you'll nick them from time to time and they're easy to change.
Thank you Sir! (love the SE / Mini 2 in Wolfs Clothing!1) ; did you mean to say you shot the video in 2.7k? (not 1080 as it certainly doesn't look like that resolution!!!)

Nice video Rick! You usually have specs and everything else about the drone, did I miss your first video that gives all the good stuff? If not, tell us all about it in the next video.
Mike, thanks for the post and I did a clip a few weeks back on the channel that covered the specs and I also did a short overview of how it compared to the other Mini drones so that will give you the details you're looking for. I think its an awesome addition to the Mini line of DJI drone and the price makes it even nicer. Stay tuned for more content this week.

Well, your Son did your other video sat down and reason he said he did it was because you were recovering from a knee operation recently..... You seem to be dancing okay on the bad knee operation buddy.... Did the Lord Jesus Christ quickly heal you????? 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
I had the knee replacement a few weeks back and am still recovering but happy to be able to finally get back outside and flying. My son will be on the channel with reviews from time to time and is actually a bigger nerd than me so I hope you enjoy those clips.
This is a review not a FIRST FLIGHT! No info on how to operate. Just that he thinks its great. He wants footage for us to see but show nothing on how or what operator MUST DO! Great Ad. Horrible for teaching you how to fly.
Thanks for the post but the title told you exactly what to expect from the video - "First Flight" - showed you the first flight and commented on the handling and performance, and "Awesome Footage" - showed you some awesome footage from the drone so you could judge the quality. If I wanted to do a clip on how to fly the drone (I've done these a ton), I would have titled it that way. Not sure why you felt the need to get so aggressive with the comment. These clip take a lot of time to produce, are totally free and if I post something you don't like - just move on.
Lol what the mini 2 se does 2.7 k wow if they paid you anything they wasted their money out also does 4 k at 30 I believe do some research before you sell out
Thanks for the post and I know that you're new on UA-cam but throwing shade on other channels is a terrible way to build a following. So for the record, the Mini 2 Se does do 2.7K but nobody shoots in that format and the 1080p@60 is the most common. It does not do 4K and that was mentioned several times in the review. If you want that you'll have to step up to the Mini 3. I do my research, aren't paid by anyone to do these reviews and do my best to present the information folks need to make a purchase decision.
