I'm Baltimore born and raised. You got the cookies down, except that they are just a tiny bit too thick. And yes, we just grab the cooled cookie and scrape that fudge right on! You go, girl! 😊
Oh god. I should never have clicked on this. I absolutely LOVED these cookies when I lived in the DC metro and now I simply must make them. Thank you!!!
My husband's grandma gets him a package of Berger cookies for his birthday every year. I'll have to try making them for him since we have moved from Baltimore to Colorado!
Hi Tammi I am sitting here in Baltimore and I rarely had these treats, I think only once but they were delicious. I have to go out and make these now. See you later, Hon.
LOL Funny how just the mere mention of Berger's cookies brings the Baltimore crowd running in at lightning speed! Anybody else remember the Berger's cakes from back in the day? Growing up, my fave was the marble pound cake frosted with the same chocolate topping. Yeppers, gonna be a home baked Berger's Fest at my place next weekend! Thanks a bunch for this video, hon!
Thanks Tammy for the recipe,I;m from Baltimore but have been transplanted to South Georgia for over 25 years,This brought many memories of home for me.
Oh! I have got to try these!! I am soo excited I found your channel!! I can not believe, how many wonderful goodies there are on it! I am going to try as many as possible. I don't want to miss out of any of them!! Thank you so much!!
How chocolatey is the fudge topping? One of my issues with the store bought version is the fudge topping is so bland and sugary I can't even tell I'm eating chocolate. I want to make me own so I can have a dark, bittersweet fudge topping
Your cookie looks right, but the frosting isn’t correct for a Berger cookie because it is more of a ganache type frosting and super rich chocolate: melted chocolate chips plus cocoa, heavy cream etc.
I lived in Baltimore for four years and these cookies are the main thing i miss!! now i can make them at home. Thank you.
I have no idea how close these are to the original, you'll have to let me know if you try them
I miss Baltimore and I miss Berger’s cookies. I will definitely try this recipe.
Who else isn't able to make these, but watches these because they're so satisfying and because of Tammy's personality?

These remind me a bit of Jaffa Cakes, just minus the orange jelly. They look delicious.
These cookies look so delicious! I love the texture.

Let me know what you think of them if you do :)
Never heard of these. Yum! But that’s why I love your channel! That mat is incredible!!! Wow!
I love trying new things, these seems so different to what I have tried before :)
They remind me of a black and white cookie!
They must be a good investment if they hold up after 10 years!
I agree completely :)
Oh they look so good !! Thank you.
Thanks!
whoop! I'm from BMore! My family loves these cookies!
I understand why! they are very good
Tammy how does the cake part compare to a black and white cookie...
Very close to a black and white cookie
This is pretty cool❤
Thanks!

Thanks for watching :)
Im glad I live in balitmore and can run down the street and get some at the convience store
I would LOVE to try an original one, maybe someday!

These look fantastic
Like the new intro btw
Thanks!
Watching this made me very hungry 😿😂
Thanks for watching :)
just another great Recipe, yummy yummy :))
THanks!
I would try using a piping bag for the chocolate :)
Yes, a piping back would be okay as long as you let it cool a bit.
No pinch of salt in the fudge icing? Maybe a tablespoon of hot brewed coffee?
GREAT JOB
Now the real question, does it taste the same?? I used to live in Baltimore, and they are my favorite ever.
I would love to taste an original cookie some day :)
No margarine?
Yum, but I think I would use a piping bag. lol Thanks for the video.
Yes! A piping bag would have been less messy for sure as long as you set the temperature come down so you wouldn't burn your hands
Looks yummy!
Thanks!

I want to make me own so I can have a dark, bittersweet fudge topping
These have a nice chocolate flavour to them, they would be amazing with a a bitter-sweet, high cocoa percentage chocolate.
I love them so cool i can do it at home now ya ya . thanks
:) !!
Recipe is missing the baking temperature
Wasn't sure I was seeing the picture right 😂 I live in Baltimore and have easy access to these!
I hope to be able to taste the real ones someday :)
yoyomax12 - the diet free zone do you have a P.O. Box so I could send them to you?
neat!
Thanks Patti!

Thanks for the info :) I hope that I can try the real thing some day.
