Now this is amazing timing. Today two RTU teachers visited my University for International Relations stuff and planning future Exchange Programs and as a english-latvian-speaking undergrad, I was accompanying them. As so it happens, the moment they were visiting the International Relations Department, the Rector declared suspension of all activities for two weeks due to Corona Virus outbreak (one teacher got sick). The Latvian Consulate also suspended their meeting because of this. They watched as all students just left university.
@@tominthewild Thanks, Toms! They changed their flights to leave yesterday, since we couldn't be sure the airports won't close. We did have a funny day going shopping for supplies, because they'll have to stay in quarantine when they arrive in Europe.
Haha yes exactly! I had an incident here at work. Had a runny nose and thought... My latvianness forbids me to tell my boss that I will not come to work. Turns out Latvianness takes a back seat to strict corona rules....
Sometimes yes, and sometime Nooo! I have a Lithuanian friend and at first I was very hopeful about learning the language, because some words sounded similar. Then his mom called on the phone and I lost all hope haha :)
My brother says it's like having a couple of midgets in your chest squeezing your lungs for a couple of weeks. I'm going to build a sauna and order some vodka online myself.
Man šķiet, ka neesmu dzirdējusi tādu izteicienu kā "Man ir uzšķaudīt uz tavu viedokli". Man šķiet, ka esmu dzirdējusi kādu citu izteicienu, bet šobrīd nevaru atcerēties... 🤔
Im Latvian and ima say this in this language (Latvian)- Es ceru kad šis vīruss beigsies jau drīz. Lai tā nav, #PALIECMĀJĀS Translate: I hope that this virus will end soon. If this dosn't happen, #STAYHOME

I’m glad to hear that!! Keep up the good work! 💪
Lieliski ! Loti jautri video. Vesels Jums !

I thought the Latvian cure for all problems was Black Balsam? ;-) Thanks for your great videos!
It is in most cases! :)))
Im Latvian
I love your videos. Humour is spot on.
At this point, I think "Pampers" is a global term for disposable diapers 😂
Thanks for a fun and informative lesson, a valuable supplement to my phrase book.
Love it! Shared it with my foreigners in Latvia friends :)
Paldies Anete. Mana latviešu valoda ir kļuvusi svakra. Tu man palīdzi.
Man milzīgs prieks par to! :)

It often is! Kumelīšu tēja and melnais rutks!

soufilms Oh, have I got a revelation for you. Did you know that not everybody lives in the UK?

@@irregularLatvian ah yeah. Thanks so much AG
i like how you're stepping up the video game by using props 🤣 where did you even get the stethoscope? :D
Surprisingly functional ones are easier to come by than costume props!!! :)))
Your videos are interesting, and you are funny 😊
Thank you 😊
Thanks AG!
Kaip tu jauties? In lithianian, how are you feeling. Kvėpuoti- to breath, čiaudėti- to sneeze. Didnt think that our languages are THAT simmilar

Trust me, in my opinion we latvians are not ready to handle the coronavirus. The cases are increasing faster now. For now we have 17 cases.. :(
But thanks for your help!
But that's happening in every country, not just Latvia.
I agree to your fact
My brother says it's like having a couple of midgets in your chest squeezing your lungs for a couple of weeks. I'm going to build a sauna and order some vodka online myself.
