The stuff of dreams, indeed, for the overland traveler. Thank you for a great review.
Thank you, Bill. It is a special vehicle for sure
@@ExpeditionPortal I’m strongly considering a used FX on the FUSO chassis. It’s slow but at 77 so am I. 😉
A good presentation. The ocean view is awesome too! An awesome off-grid, go just about anywhere home!!
Excellent review.. This has always been one of my favorite platforms.. Size, and capability.. Kudos for posting this.. Indeed, my bucket list purchase..
Thanks, Steven. We so enjoyed the EC.
Nice one Scott, seems you enjoyed the adventure too. All the best.
The Pacific Northwest was so beautiful
Concise and well spoken. Thank you for putting this together.
Thank you for the feedback and support
Thank you for great review. Have been considering getting one of these for retirement.. (still saving money :))
Very informative review! Hi from Indonesia ⚡️
Great review , very in-depth, thank you for sharing.
You are most welcome
Australian Earthcruiser model is on a IVECO Daily. They build non NA vehicles in the Wollongong factory in NSW Australia. Very different vehicle bases to what you get in the US
Great video and run through of the EC kit. But what I have been missing in all EC promotional materials and available videos on UA-cam to date are good examples/demonstrations of off-road capability whether of the older ECs or the newer model. I would very much encourage you to make a separate video on this if you have the footage.
We do have some trail footage, but mostly images. Our archive also includes some images of driving Fraser Island in Australia. They are impressive on the trail (given their size)
How well does it handle very cold nights with the canopy up. That is important for us , snow storm chasers. What is the freeway speed, normal? I know it depends on the type of tires as well, but our trip mission is normally, in miles traveled, 80/20, 80% pave roads, 20% snow wet or dried and offroad.
So after 3 years and almost 44,000 miles in my EarthCruiser EXP#34 my experience with the reliability of the build has been the same as Scott's experience.
Thank you for the additional insights.
looking into buying one, still happy with it ? which improvements did you do ? how is your experience with the company EC ?
Cab sound levels at a) crawling speed and b) freeway speed?
Acceleration?
Range of fuel tanks?
This isn’t a Lexus.
A friend of mine has a Canter 4x4 and the fuel efficiency is around 12mpg, not bad considering the weight and size of the vehicle. Is a very capable off roader, I'm considering getting one as is faster on the highway than my Unimog 426
Mantap Mr.dari Indonesia
Está perfecta para cumplir mis sueños de ir a cualquier parte con esta camper😅
i may have missed it but - is there a pass-trough to the cab?
Yes
Thank you for the in depth video, I've been looking at every off-road RV there is and the companies all have the same fault, no detailed information on their websites. At first I thought this EXP was going to be the answer but the toilet in the entry door is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I can see it now, it starts pouring down rain but no pne can come in because I'm sitting on the pot.
You can access the camper via the passthrough from the cab. Pouring down rain problem solved 🙏🏻
I lived in it for weeks, and I found the shower and toilet in the doorway to be one of the most thoughtful features. It takes advantage of an already open space, it works as a mud room, and it allows more sanitary cleaning and management of the toilet. That was my experience
@@ExpeditionPortal Thanks. I didn't think about that. Also the mud room point is a use I hadn't thought of.
One suggestion: The installation of a steering damper is urgent.
Excellent. I thought the shower had a separate system to recycle the water?
That is an option
im going to buy one if i ever win the lotto i got lots of adventuring to do i n oregon would make amazing metal detecting adventure rig
So true! Would be great as a metal detecting base camp
Do you happen to have a GPX track of where you went on this trip? I was super curious about those roads.
Bryan, we will be publishing those in the next few months to Overland Journal. Beautiful area
Why is there always an annoying background music that you can’t understand what was being said?! Why why why!?
👍👍👍
Perfect for a couple! No place to seat any kids if you have those haha! I wonder what it would cost to build your own cheaper version! Thanks for the tour :)
They do have a 4-door version available now (for the kids and extra pups)
@@ExpeditionPortal Yup, I've been keeping an eye our for a 4x4 DC to build on!
@@ExpeditionPortal is the box smaller for the 4 door? Is it 4x4 or 4wd from factory or after market? What gas engine is it?
Nice rig
Why no DIESEL engines?
$350k cost a lot to be homeless, LOL! Would love to live like a turtle.
Looking forward great 👍 4x4 Drivers truck great 👍
I thought this was a reasonably good and informative presentation of the vehicle, however if you could restrict the background music to being background music, then I possibly could have heard those spoken words where you were talking softly.
Background music is fine, but when you are speaking and supplying information deemed to be necessary, could you please let us hear it unimpeded by not so background, background music?
Sorry about that, Allan. I listened to it again, and I see what you are saying. Really appreciate the feedback- we will fix it.
Love the truck & your description.. Hate the background ‘elevator muzak’ it’s distracting & annoying
Sorry about the music. We will work on that for next time.
I didn’t see windows. Guess they are zipped up in the topper
Exactly. They are in the lifting roof tent panel.
The vehicle is amazing, but the toilet space on the the entrance is not a good idea for me.
Why?
🇸🇦❤️🇺🇲
Mic sock. Please and thank you
Yeah... sorry about that (shot on iPhone)
You should get a dead cat for your mic👍🏻
So true! Lesson learned on that one. Thank you
I'd throw that wabasto in the trash and get an APU
That's the worse type of fridge for an Overland vehicle.
