Liara definitely :). All those times when she was saying how good friends she and Shepard are, weren't her blowing Shepard off. It was more given how incredibly busy they both are saving the galaxy, she wanted to give Shepard all the space she needed to make the best choice for herself with no pressure and also reassuring her that she(Liara) would always be there for her in whatever capacity, even 'just a friend' if that was what Shepard needed. You can tell from the recording that Liara was making to hide in the Glyph clone for the future that she idolizes ( as well as loves) Shepard and maybe that scares her somewhat. Asari can live for a reeeaallly long time and most are very serious about long term choices like lifemate choices and who they make little blue babies with 😊. @@LucyusMaximus If you ever end up playing the trilogy on insanity you will find out how terrifying banshees truly are. Even after 10+ playthroughs they still make me sweat.
28:30 "Priority Citadel:Shore Leave" Hey Lucy, as far as the shore leave one, I would strongly suggest that you hold off on that until you're much closer to the ending of this game, because there's a lot of content that you'll miss out on if you do this mission any sooner
@LucyusMaximus also, it's a huge part of the game. You'll be spending multiple gaming sessions on this, but it's a huge fan favourite. Don't be surprised if your viewing numbers jump up when you get to it.
To late to weigh in but I do the first part as soon as I get it and do other missions and 'the visits' in-between, then do the last part just before endgame.
With Garrus, I prefer the exact reverse decisions, since they are way funnier. You are already in a perfect bromance with Garrus, there is no downside to going Renegade ;) "It shows on your face" leads to "raise your hand if you haven't been killed before" - "touché". Then missing the shot on purpose: "I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is now my favourite spot on the citadel!". For the shot, I go with a kind of roleplay: As a soldier or Infiltrator, I hit, with other classes, I miss.
Not sure if you recognized Aresh's name in the news update at 22:53, but he was the crazy guy at the abandoned Cerberus facility Jack blew up. Since you convinced Jack to spare him, he later saves the children at Elysium.
I'm sure others will say the same, but typically it's recommended to leave the Citadel DLC until right before the endgame. That way, as you suspected, you get all possible companions. It's a brilliant love letter to the trilogy and pretty much everyone will be looking forward to seeing you play it.
Make sure you don't forget you got personal appointments in Shepard's cabin, when back on the Normandy as soon as you are done with Citadel! There are very err..."spicy" scenes waiting for you to be revealed...
"It's like the cry of a banshee!" Nice. Omg! I had the same thought about the UHaul when Shep was all "to have and to hold" during that conversation. So good!
Oh, Lucy, that weapon you'd picked up on the Ardat-Yakshi monastery mission, the Disciple, it's basically a Asari made Shotgun and it's pretty lightweight, even lighter in you use the weight-reduction modification
When you said Banshee before knowing what it was, I was like nailed it. Also if you think the Banshees are scary in the main game, be glad you never went up against them on platinum difficulty on the multi player, they would lift you up and impale you for an instant kill. Also if you didn't have that talk with Liara Kadain would have definitely made that conversation a romantic one. Love your play throughs can't wait for the next one. Oh by the way you should leave the shore leave mission until much later in the game.
50:38 If you had brought Garrus with you instead of Javik, Liara's dialogue when speaking to Samara would've been spoken by him and Samara would've addressed him by name when she explained why she was there
The Samara paragon interrupt -- seriously. I think I almost missed it from being horrified and at the last half second I right-clicked in time. This game was a great exploration of why some longer games feel so easy to get to and others feel like a chore, and it's largely because... these are our friends. The best games, and BioWare has done quite a few of them, create characters we _care_ about. Garrus is our bro, Tali is our little sister, Liara is our Li-Li (that was _my_ nickname for her in the Liara Appreciation Group on the old BioWare Social Network -- you should have _seen_ the pages upon pages of unadulterated squeeing when Lair of the Shadow Broker dropped by the way) and even James really stepped up quick and endeared himself to me and most people I've talked to. So if we were to lose ... I mean we _did_ already lose a couple of friends, and I have it on good authority that you, and I, could have lost more. It's a kick to the gut, or as TV Tropes calls it, a Player Punch, to think that you could have saved someone you've spent parts of 60 hours with, and when it's possible, it's not always obvious, and when it's not possible, it's hard to be sure.
So good you confirmed things with Liara. If you're not in a relationship, Kaiden will try his luck almost as soon as you join him at his table. Really the guy cannot read the room. Get's brushed off in ME1, gives Shep the cold shoulder in ME2, actively distrusts you though the first half of this game...and then is "Hey, Shep, can we date? Do I have a chance?"
that's because he's a new romance option for male shep in me3 so he does ask, as cute as the romance with cortez is A LOT of male shep's who swing that way take kaidan up on that he's a very popular option for male sheps regardless unlike ash who isn't a new romance option for femshep especially because though liara says she 'doesn't have a gender' most people refer to her as she and she also is female presenting so most male players unless they play female, can't romance other males until me3 when we wlw (i'm bisexual) get liara if they want to be with her or perhaps samantha in me3 and to be COMPLETLY fair, liara does hit on shep like kaidan in me1 and asks shep for a relationship in me3 too not taking the hint either if your shep isn't interested (like mine who romanced garrus) it's just a fair amount of people romance her because they did in me1 and feel like they have to stick with it i like liara but she's not my type and her romance is pretty similar to a friendship tbh.. i'm more of a miranda and garrus fan when it comes to romance in mass effect oof but obviously to each their own, we all have our tastes and it would suck if we didn't
@nightfrost1891 I don't have a issue with Kaden going bi in ME3 but he is so needy for validation with not just eighter Shepard but with the whole crew. Plus in ME3 when "apologizing" for how he acted on Horzion to Femshep he talks about going out on his 1st date with a doctor. Kaden doesn't have a damn clue. It's best to just send him to Hackett for fleet strength.
@briannichols3341 . That is a dumb reason to send him to hacket especially with him having alot of dialog with shepherd and the others compared to ashely
if you think this was hard to watch with Samara attempting to delete herself and her daughter, wait until you see the renegade version of that scene. its even more brutal 😆

Oh, good. Now I have to listen to Slayer after this episode🤣 The Garrus romance is definitely one of the best written in the game. But, if it had made it past whatever gate it was stopped at, it was intended that Miranda could be romanced by Femshep and there's audio (and animation if memory serves?) in the game files. I've seen a video of someone trying to piece it together, and I think it could have been the best one in the game.
Vaenia is a vid not a book, and it promotes an Asari + Asari love affair (how explicit is never detailed). It is taboo on two counts as Asai culture is currently against such mating and these are Ardat-Yakshi who are supposed to be avoiding 'sexy time thoughts'. Some of the notes scattered around the monastery suggest that the student who smuggled it in is already an edge case who might go either way yet. I would not put it past Traynor to eagerly be a third wheel. *click* That was the point you lock in the relationship. Yes you would have had to stomp on Kaiden's heart if you had talked to him first, Kelly too (IF you had invited her to your room). There is more to your time up on the bridge with Garrus if you are romancing him.
If you want to see some of the other romance options, but don't want to play through the entire trilogy multiple times, there are UA-cam videos that show them. Like, if you don't really want to play as MaleShep, but want to see Miranda or Jack's romance scenes, there are videos that only show the romance interactions. But be careful, finish ME3 first, otherwise you'll see stuff from the Citadel DLC.
