Crisis Core ending -> The explanation for why we can't sell the default buster sword from the start of the game in FF VII
majority of games though, you usually can't sell the default weapon.. especially if that default weapon is in cutscenes

@@ymh12345 it's because the. Lips wouldn't match with the translation lines. So they changed the lines so the lip synch.
For real. The line really highlights his sacrifice more: Cloud being alive is the proof that Zack was there.
Whereas "living legacy" seems more like "I'm dying, so I want you to continue my life for me." While that's more accurate with what actually happens (because of Cloud's character arc), I feel like it doesn't fit Zack's character to push that onto Cloud.
Plus, Zack already has a living legacy: Aerith. Compare Zack's effect on Aerith with Aerith's effect on Cloud
I disagree. They say the same thing but the _translation_ is well done in my opinion and sounds nice as well. "I am the proof that you existed" is good as well but quite literal which doesn't always equate to most natural or creative when thinking as a writer. Translation isn't a one-to-one thing. It's taking one language and configuring it to another in the most natural way possible.
The translation carries he same meaning but just adjusted slightly to sound more natural.
Zack and Cloud's japanese VAs are friends in real life and somehow I think that may have had an effect on how well they voiced the emotional scenes with each other...
And Zack and Aerith's Japanese voice actors are married.

The fact that Zack died and Cloud will be the proof that he exists even after death. After all the madness he took after his friends became insane and denying their memories asf. He had to kill them all and it's as sad as it can be. Because of dealing with all this madness, he didn't get to reunite with Aerith just to let her know that Zack's alive all this time. Cissnei helped him but being unable to know her true identity and getting to know her better. He couldn't change everything even if he tried. Even after all this turn of events, he smiled at the very end of his life. Knowing he'll die and the things that he knew he'll be forgotten because he's been out for too long. He died smiling... I think I wanted the same sht.
When I hear cloud scream gives me the chills and goosebumps. Cloud's actor in Japanese version is superb. Thus, he makes me feel what cloud is feeling through his acting, amazing expressions. Also zack's voice actor superb. In fact most of ff7 voice actor my respects they made me love this game even more than I already did; so many emotions made me emotional 🥰.
One of the best, most heart-wrenching scenes in any game ever. Playing through a game knowing the main character's true fate, while almost no one else in the game's world knows. You can see the very moment Cloud's fragile psyche fractured, and it adds so much more depth to the character he becomes for the rest of FF7. Can't wait for the FF7 remake.

As much as I love the dub for this game (and it is quite amazing), Clouds reaction after Zack's death in japanese is so much better. You can hear the emotion in his voice so much better, and that scream sends chills down my spine!
I hope this game gets a HD remaster for PS4 before or after the VII remake is released, I'd buy that so fast!

Well if you think about it he literally didn’t forget and followed Zack’s words by practically losing his actual self and literally becoming Zack’s legacy by thinking he was him. If anything it’s sad how his mind got so distorted and corrupted from overdosing in mako that he took Zack’s words of someone who he truly admired and thought of as a friend to heart to cover up the shame of his unfulfilled promise. So yeah he did forget who Zack was but also didn’t because he followed what Zack said and became him since that was only thing he could do to cope with the loss he suffered right before overdosing unwillingly in mako while being somewhat aware that his friend died protecting him. If anything its even more sad because Zack probably never intended for that to happen and Cloud thought that he should have been the one to die and killed his actual self and replacing his personality and memories in the perspective of Zack’s.

Lmao! And bro! That’s just the tip of the buster sword. You know how Angeal refuses to use the buster sword as much as possible cause of family honor and Zack did the same out of respect for Angeal. Then Cloud just uses the sword as of it was nothing then let it rust for 2 years. Also how Aerith kept saying don’t step on the flowers then Cloud just run those flowers with his motorcycle as if he was rolling it in dirt or something. Scumbag Cloud is a scumbag. 😂
One of my most wanted things for the remake to be honest. I want them to do a similar thing with Aerith's death as they did in the end here. Namely I'd love if they give a scene with Zack coming down(having his own wings as he wanted) to get her.

I don't understand... *Frowns a bit* I like Tidus's voice actor he's fine hes usually good but at least have the dude who is voicing cloud do it, you can really tell the difference..Not to mention I've screamed harder slipping in mud...The Japanese one hurts man..Anyone who's screamed like that knows that pain, and resonates with them... *Rubs eyes*

I love the English voice actor, I really do, but he tried to make Cloud sound more juvenile than he should have, and should have just let out a good scream. Maybe he's not used to an emotional Cloud, but I hope he improves for the remake during the weird scenes.

my boy was in mako drugged coma (you know, the mako that turned other men into monsters left in tubes?), for around four years, still half out of it for the year, more or less, that zack dragged him around, and only came to enough to speak and move around as Zack was fighting and dying. Kinda traumatic. The brain does a lot to protect you from breaking, his trauma literally brought him to forget the pain he couldn't endure but take on the memories he couldn't let go of in the only way it saw fit--IE, he lived on as a reflection of Zack, believing he'd lived his life, as the only way his mind would allow him to be 'the proof that he once existed'. Every other indicator of false memories constantly causes mental stress in Cloud until eventually the truth comes out.
Like he literally leaves that cliff and goes on to Midgar, where his story begins, who knows how long he had between his mission with AVALANCHE and when he left Zack. My boy been through a lot.

I cried as a baby, god damnit. I was really hoping that Zack would at have the chance to read Aerith's letters or at the very least say his last goodbye.
But the most shocking part was before this CG, when Zack realizes through Aerith last letter that he was a prisoner for 4 years. Damn.
The look on Clouds face at 4:52 was touching, the was real emotion there and i think anybody who has experienced Crisis Core would have the same expression by the end. thanks Chocolinx for the upload and the translations
All these years.....and I'm still reduced to tears! We ALL knew what would happen...we KNEW he was going to die. But we were NOT ready to see it happen. And this end....this end will forever go down to me as THE best ending to a FF game. Long live FFVII ;-;7

FF7 probably wouldn't have happened if Zack lived. It ended up being a more beautiful and immersive story because of Zack's part in it. Zack died a hero, like he always wanted. The onions are being sliced again

I used Buster sword to fight through most battles in FF7R both normal and hard mode, knowing there are better options. Just because I can't forget this scene.

They made buster sword pretty good in remake ngl, I also go buster sword the full playthrough (also cuz for cutscenes). I hope they still make buster sword pretty good in rebirth

In the game, there is actually a mission which describes Phoenix Downs as incredibly rare and very hard to produce and that doing that series of missions might help them to mass produce them. So, main reason why Zack dies? No Phoenix Downs readily available.
Patrick Destor pheonix down/pheonix are for reviving k.o characters in battle not for the dead.

Yeah, it was Angeal. Remember, when Angeal was still alive Zack was 16-17. So during that time Angeal was a lot bigger than Zack. But when Zack dies, he is 23, he has had a lot of SOLDIER-experience and training. So the difference is a lot smaller by that time :)
When he said" I became a hero, right?" is when I totally broke and cried during the entire credits.
This ending almost made me cry, it was deep, thats for sure, almost forgot about him dieing in the end :P RIP zack, hero, nice guy

His departure going into the supposed heaven is only a metaphorical image. I prefer that method as its more emotionally engaging that seeing the actual recession into the lifestream.

Aerith never bellieved went they told her after Nibellhaim incident was dead, always waiting him for 5 years and she feel his death. 3 months later died too

Poor Cloud! OMG! I want to hug him SOOOOO badly! That last scene in the rain is heart breaking yet so beautiful! The song makes me want to cry! I looooooove that song! It's great this game got made. It's among my favorites. I'm so glad I own a PSP! I will miss Zack, too. He's now one of my favorite characters in the series. I also looooove his blue eyes! Btw, thanks so much for uploading! ;)

Ah also I think I kind of understand what happened to Cloud now. Basically with the experiments that messed up his brain most surely (it’s already a miracle he survived) he wakes up to Zack dying protecting him.
Zack tells him that he’s the proof of his existence, he’s his legacy and entrusted him with his dreams and hopes.
With Cloud’s mind already broke from the trauma in Nibelheim as well as the mako, he answered everything Zack said as if he’s learning who he is.
“I am the proof you existed....”
“I am ...”
Then with the soldier’s uniform he’s wearing and with the buster swords, he convince himself he was actually Zack for real.
That’s extremely interesting psychology here

blue1234515...the snipers were the reason Zack & Cloud got out of the truck bed. You also see this scene in more detail in the Last Order OVA. So, he wasn't killed by the snipers, but the snipers were his first indication that there was a ShinRa army ambush up ahead.
Ive never been so traumatized before, zack was my ever first sad as hell ending and theres no way to stop it 😭😭😭 I ROLLED THE HEAL CRISIS CORE THE HEAL!

Also forgot to mention this before, but major props to the seiyuus on this scene. It really captured the emotions of the characters, from Cloud's anguish at Zack's death, to Zack's caring tranquility even in his dying moments.
