What really gets me about the picture in this video is that Zack's eyes are red. You can tell he was crying recently. Seeing someone as strong hearted and positive as him hurting internally just doesn't feel fair. Zack deserved the best in life and was handed such an unfair fate. He always tried to mask his anxieties and pain over what happened over the course of the game and largely does. But in this picture you can really see how much of a toll the events of crisis core took on Zack. Rest In Peace to a true hero.

Again man I don't think they gonna even add this one again and yet I bet the death in that game isn't gonna hurt me like it did In the original (Hiding the fact that I may cry again)
I played this game a long time ago for the first time. I was like 14 years old. I loved Zack, he was like the big brother I always wanted. I did every sidequest with him. I have never before cried so heavily at the end of this game. It was exactly the same feeling when a close person dies + the way he died + the realization he will never see Aerith again and vice versa. When I played this game a second time I knew what would come and I cried exactly the same way. They truly made a good job making this game as tragic as possible.
I was 17 at that time and i cried like a b. itch. Am 32 now and i still cry as soon as i hear this song. This is truly the most devastating ending i've ever experienced.
It hits even harder because most of the franchises protags don’t die, so Zack dying would be one of the biggest surprises for people who played it for the first time when it came out
It says a lot that Zack's fate hurt us so much despite the fact that we knew from the start it was going to happen. This goes to show just how attached we became because of how lovable Zack is.
"Why is everyone...always pushing things on me?" -Zack Fair I see some comments saying this is for Cloud but I believe it's for Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis. I feel that if this was for Cloud it would be more encouraging and not as questioning. "Having the entire world at your fingertips, is that what you consider happiness?" Doesn't fit Cloud like it does Sephiroth. I just feel like every line that could fit Cloud could fit one of the others better. The ending could just as easily be a blessing to Genesis turning a new leaf over and trying to be a hero again, as it could for encouragment to Cloud, "Why? Are you so concerned with the way you look?" Could be as much about Angeal thinking he is a monster as it could be about Cloud's image of a First. I just feel it makes more sense for Zack to scream WHY at those three then it does Cloud.
I’m grown ass man, who’s seen combat as a soldier in the US army. Even though I haven’t lost any friends, in our line of work, anything can happen if or when our nation goes to war again. I related so much with this game. We all signed up for different reasons, in zacks case he fought to be a hero, but in the end he was fighting for his friends. Most of us signed to protect our country and fight for it. But on the battle field, we fight for our brothers and sisters who stand beside us. Hearing this song brings tears to my eyes because of the relationship that was formed playing through zacks story and seeing him grow. No other game has had a impact on me like this game has.
We knew... we knew he was going to die, we knew his journey was ending, we knew (Okay not everything) what he went through but yet we still played, we still went through his story, we still tried to save him in the end, but we failed, we cried, we remember him for who he was. Zack Fair, First-Class Soldier, best friend of Cloud Strife, loved by Aerith, and the best hero that became a legend in the series.
I literally fought until I've used everything. Every item, every single potion, I really tried to save him and hope for an alternate ending just so he could see Aerith one last time. But then... The most painful part was seeing his memories being wiped out little by little. It's my biggest fear and I was witnessing it happen to Zack. Little by little he forgot his allies, his friends, both old and the new ones he met along the way. He forgot his mentor and closest friend, and then, finally, the last memory he had was Aerith's. And that too was gone on a whim. I was still trying to fight the soldiers but then it hit me: why I was still fighting? That thought, to this day, makes me shed tears. Never I had felt such a deep connection to a fictional character, to the point of trying literally everything to bring him home safe and sound. I bought Reunion, and I'm still afraid to go through it all again.
Good to know after 13 years this song manages to make me sob like a baby just as easily as the day I had to face the ending and get tears all over my psp
This is Zack's final wish to Cloud, his living legacy. Zack sees Cloud the opposite of how Sephiroth does: he sees the true him; he knows Cloud just needs to accept himself. Sephiroth sees Cloud as nothing --- a puppet, a means-to-the-end.
Even if Zack is now one with the Lifestream, he will always be with us as long as we keep him well rememberd and as long as we're embracing our dreams. Rest in Peace Zack ''the Puppy'' Fair. You'll be missed. Not only from Aerith and Cloud, but from all those who shared this great Adventure with you. Find enternal peace in Lifestream. You became a hero to all of us.
This song is beautiful, not only did it make me cry for Zack back in 07 on my PSP. As I read the translation, tears would not stop coming out my eyes(again) as the song relates too much with my current state in life. Truly a song that will stay in my heart forever.

I know this song is dedicated to Zack becoming a hero, but I hold this is a personal song. I lost my best friend nine years ago when I was only 12. She always encouraged me to keep pushing on, even when things didn’t go my way or times just got tough. I saw what happened, and I saw her final moments. It one of the worst pains I have experienced even to this day. I remember being there on my knees, looking so lost, just like cloud when Zack passed. I knew I’d never get to spend that time with her ever again, never getting to tell her how much I loved her. The morale of my story is, don’t ever go without telling someone how you truly feel. Whether that may be a friend, someone you want to be with or a family member. You never know when the last time you will get to hug them or say words to. I know this was a pretty personal thing to post, but I just want people to understand, you can let people know, they were your hero, before it’s too late.
I remember the first time I played Crisis Core on the psp, I was still a little kid and haven’t played ff7 yet, once I have beaten it, I cried, sobbing under my blanket on my bed, making sure my parents don’t hear me crying either. Now, oh boy, crisis core reunion is coming, I have a fiancé and she is going to see a grown man cry so hard. I am not ready and I’m not crying, you are.
I remember playing this back in uni. I cried when it happened. Now, similar to you. My gf has only seen me cry for a movie once (your name). Now she's gonna see me cry again.
The three things that get me every time. His reason to keep fighting was slipping on the modulator. Enemies, friends, mentors, love. His last reason to keep fighting, he clung onto it, which was aerith. Clearly, "would you say I became a hero" was another. I would argue that some would say he became the best. Finally, the song. This song is beautiful, and when it played with that scene, especially when she sang why again right after he asked his last question. I bawled. She has such a lovely voice and it felt so raw and emotional that it worked with the scene we all knew was coming but dreaded.

Just finished FF7:CCR yesterday and I still was not ready to cry. Omg. After 13 years, this game is still one of my favorites if not my actual favorite
At the start of the game Zack's dream was to be a hero by protecting his friends from the world but in the end it was him protecting the world from his friends
Even after 11 Years I will never forget Zack Fair and his ambition to be a Hero. In Real Life he is like a Person that helps a lot of people whatever happens and that should be a good Exaple for every Person in this World ❤
Zack Fair - you magnificent bastard. You hit me in my fucking soul. 😢. Forever immortal. Even after everything, he's singing about Sephiroth here and trying to understand him as he heads to the afterlife. The last man Seph could ever call friend.
Just finished playing CC on my old psp for the first time. Even though i knew Zacks fate from the start, because of FF7, i bawled like a baby throughout the last battle and the ending credits. I dont think any other game made me love the main character as Crisis Core did. Zack is such a great guy and a hero!
I cant help but hear Zack's voice and feel his death when I hear anything that even remotely sounds like this song. I literally cry and get chills when I hear this song now, 10 years after playing the game as a kid (11 at the time) and learning the beautiful tragedy of Zack. This song isn't for any one person in the FFVII Compilation, it represents so many different aspects of so many different people, and it really wraps the hearts of everyone involved in the story. I will never have another soul encompassing experience like I had as a kid for FFVII:CC. Goodnight, Zack. ❤
After playing the Crisis Core Reunion i shed so many tears with this song and Zack's final words as the feather just flies by as the credits started rolling and it was my first time playing Crisis core and i'm glad i got to play it finally
Me neither. Cloud was discriminated and oppressed by the townsfolks, lost his mother and his home town, his best and closest friend Zack, witness the destruction of Sector 7, his friends from Avalanche are dead, saw Aerith getting killed by Sephiroth, and went into a comatose state. Poor Cloud needs a break.
I first played this game in 2007. Almost 14 years later and having replayed this game 29 times and the fact that I'm now 29 years old myself, I still feel like crying...
The fun fact is that I see lot of people saying "you already know Zack will die" and the first time I played the game I haved no clue on what will happen to him. I really discovered the universe of FF7 for the first time. I think it hurts so much more.
You know what's painful? You know that Zack is gonna die. You know that Sephiroth is gonna go crazy but you saw him having friends he cared for and how you see him smile genuinely. You know Cloud is gonna have amnesia and he won't be able to tell Aerith how Zack died as a hero. And most of all, Zack not being able to see Aerith again for the last time when Midgar is in plain sight.
Grinded the platinum. Leaving it run over night to get 100% DMW, hunting down best equipement to beat Minerva in Hard mode. Every bit of it was worth it. This game made a grown ass man like me cry like a baby, same way it did 15 years ago when I played it on my PSP. Forever my favorite FF. As perfect as Zack's death was, I still wish they revive him and bring him back. But I guess he got the wings he always wished for and it's best the way it ended.
Who here is listening to this song again after replaying Crisis Core Reunion? This still hits me hard, and I still cry every time Zack asks if he became a hero...
He is back in FF7 remake and I couldn't be more happy. I was broken when he passed on crisis core. I couldn't understand why he had to die, not him, and not like that. I am so glad they changed the story. I want him to be with Aerith.
Can't believe I cried to this song every f time especially when you realized it was Zack's final wish for Cloud when he gave his all and last for Cloud just to see his smile once more time. This set the tone so much better for Advent Children.
Crisis Core never blew me away with it’s gameplay, but the story and music were phenomenal. I just finished the remaster for the first time and enjoyed it a lot more than I initially did
I cried the first time I beat this game on the psp cause damn it hurt. Years later when it came out for the ps4/5 I beat it again...but cried for a different reason. I lost my little brother shortly before I did and when he was alive we would talk about the game when he borrowed it on the psp. I cried because I'll never get to talk to him or see him again. I miss you little brother
@@otakuyasha0066 i'd say xenoblade chronicles 1 is definitely up there with this, and it's also the only game i can think of haha it's a really, REALLY high bar
This is probably my number 1, both red dead redemption games are up there. Persona 5 royal had a great final boss moment. The last of us 1 was good too
Everytime when I remember my 12 or 14 year old self playing this game and seeing how Zack died and then 3 or 4 years later I see him and Aerith standing at the churchs door watching over Cloud I cry my fucking heart out man
The man died so gracefully...a true Hero #Salute. This song accurately describes the character of zack, initially he carried a smile and joy which later on faded away. I played FF7 Remake first and then this, Zack is and always will be the MC for me, not cloud.

Zack Fair was the hero the world of FF7 needed. Cloud is the hero it deserved.
Even after 11 Years I will never forget Zack Fair and his ambition to be a Hero. In Real Life he is like a Person that helps a lot of people whatever happens and that should be a good Exaple for every Person in this World ❤
Anyone back here after finishing FF7 Remake...
Siddhartha yo our boi alive?!?
@@philippbraun5997 we will know for sure in part 2
Namura is pulling a Kingdom Hearts with the 7 remake and i am not complaining
It's different, we'll see what they decide to do with it.
@@KinroXIII Nobody wants Zack dead truthfully especially that awkward shit when Aerith and Tifa meets his parents
If you have a current console I suggest playing ff7 rebirth because he has returned in an alt timeline
@@Ahmed-og2jm sadly i dont own ps5 😭 but ive been watching the gameplays of rebirth and i love itttt
@@annies6475 Dang well the PC version is coming. Hope you play it soon one way or another!
Cloud; goodnight zack! Later on who is zack zack: what?! You don't remember me!
I feel like the entire Final Fantasy VII story is so sad, but I still love it. Best game ever.
Definetly
After playing the Crisis Core Reunion i shed so many tears with this song and Zack's final words as the feather just flies by as the credits started rolling and it was my first time playing Crisis core and i'm glad i got to play it finally
Honestly I can’t blame cloud for his condition after zacks death, that messed up me and many others as well
@@ruintheday13 Tifa is still alive, she'll knock some sense into him WHEN he needs it!
Your a lucky soul , getting spoiled through another game sucks
Same, to me crisis core is the main final fantasy vii game 🤒👍🏽
Same here. I had no idea he's going to die. I cried holding PSP and even felt depressed for a few days.
@@superdrifter-1773 I mean regardless of whether you play Crisis Core or FF7 first, you're going to be spoiled in some way on the other
Wow this just reached 1M views! This song has been on repeat since and now it's finally hit a mark!
....words cannot express how happy I am that he's alive. You did it, Cloud...you brilliant bastard, you did it.
It's even sadder when you know what it means
It's for all of the characters of the game
(Zack's Perspective)
You know what's painful?
You know that Zack is gonna die.
You know that Sephiroth is gonna go crazy but you saw him having friends he cared for and how you see him smile genuinely.
You know Cloud is gonna have amnesia and he won't be able to tell Aerith how Zack died as a hero.
And most of all,
Zack not being able to see Aerith again for the last time when Midgar is in plain sight.
Dude it more painful then hell!
Another painful thing about CC is knowing the results of the final battle, but you still keep fighting as long as you can. Just to keep him alive.
OH GOD!!! WHY DID I START THIS GAME AGAIN!!!?
I've never played Final Fantasy but it sounds really sad
I went from loving this song to hating it cause of bullshit rights causing this game not to be able to be in the digital stores.
It's an honour for me to be his official hindi voice hindi❤
Just finished Reunion.... and yes Zack you're still a godamn hero!!!
Crisis core was awesome I wish Zack was able to go on that date with arith but I guess hes in the lifestream with her now
They went on alot of dates
He never got to read all her letters...
Oh jeezus i havent played Crisis Core and just thinking of playing it ... but what did l just learned/read :O Q__Q
Hello from the future. You never know the time ghost are dead now so maybe he's a live in a different timeline.
He doesn’t need to read Arith’s letters anymore cause she can tell him by herself now.
Honestly this is the best freaking final fantasy game ever mad especially this song it makes me want to cry when I hear it
It's the only game that makes me cry when I hear the soundtrack... 😰
One of the two game endings I cried to as a child. The DMV breaking was such an incredibly great narrative move.
This song gets into my recommendations from time to time. And I always cry it's such a beautiful song. Thank you. Zack.
Who here is listening to this song again after replaying Crisis Core Reunion? This still hits me hard, and I still cry every time Zack asks if he became a hero...
"Hey...Would you say...i became a hero?"
*YES YOU DID, YOU ARE A HERO. YOU ARE OUR LIVING LEGACY, OUR HONOR AND DREAMS*
I cry everytime..
Don't worry. You're not alone.
Lets cry together....for Zack....and Aerith
@@xienos5067 I cried when you died
世界にとっての英雄でなくとも誰かのための英雄でいいってこと
Zack is simply the best Character of the franchise.
He was voted as one of the most popular final fantasy series characters by the Japanese so this is legitimate facts
i played this game over a decade ago... and still i will still say that yes zack you were a hero
My heart will always ache, Zack you will eternally be my favorite. I am SOBBING
The way it seems, Why is Zack to Cloud and Hollow is Cloud’s response/answer to Zack.
Angeal: "Hey, Zack, Sephiroth and I are heading to Buffalo Wild Wings. Wanna come?"
Zack: "Those wings... I want them, too."
Activating Crying Mode!
This song is so deep.
"Hey, would you say I became a hero?" that line with this song really gets me
He is back in FF7 remake and I couldn't be more happy.
I just finished the remaster for the first time and enjoyed it a lot more than I initially did
"My honor,my dreams,they're yours now."
"I am your living legacy"
I cried the first time I beat this game on the psp cause damn it hurt.
Years later when it came out for the ps4/5 I beat it again...but cried for a different reason. I lost my little brother shortly before I did and when he was alive we would talk about the game when he borrowed it on the psp. I cried because I'll never get to talk to him or see him again. I miss you little brother
Just listening to this brings tears to my eyes. Even more than a decade later.
I am *in love with this song and a BIG THANK YOU for translating this mate*
*You have my* #Respect
Zack asked in the end if he became a hero and the answer is always the same,no he became a legend
he became a God card in a different timeline. that's how much the governance of the multiverse loved him!
I can't stop listening this music
Same
Might just be the best ending that I have experienced in gaming.
Crisis Core was something else.
I've yet to find a game as good as this one.
Absolutely, Red Dead Redemption is good too; but not this great.
@@otakuyasha0066 i'd say xenoblade chronicles 1 is definitely up there with this, and it's also the only game i can think of haha
it's a really, REALLY high bar
@@MegaJACproductions Japanese rpg's are always on another level
This is probably my number 1, both red dead redemption games are up there. Persona 5 royal had a great final boss moment. The last of us 1 was good too
Every time I hear this song, I still feel the sadness I first felt after finishing this game.
Damn.
Can you believe people actually hated Crisis Core?
Yes. There are a lot of underrated games out there and this is one of them...
But I don't hate it.
What that's crazy crisis core was is an awesome game

Finally a good translation of this song! this has to be the best one ever on all the FF made.
One more month for Zack to be a Hero again
Nah I'd win
One of the most bittersweet songs I’ve ever heard and I mean that in the best way possible mannn
Everytime when I remember my 12 or 14 year old self playing this game and seeing how Zack died and then 3 or 4 years later I see him and Aerith standing at the churchs door watching over Cloud I cry my fucking heart out man
This song is 14 years old, and I still listen to it every month! ❤❤❤
This song is sadder when you know the lyrics. It's not about asking why zack had to die. It's about zack getting cloud out of his shell
Here after the announcement of Reunion! Can’t wait to play this for the first time
Best song ever
the guitar version of this already hits the feels, but then hearing this got me bawling
One week to go… let’s make this Reunion a great one!
The man died so gracefully...a true Hero #Salute. This song accurately describes the character of zack, initially he carried a smile and joy which later on faded away. I played FF7 Remake first and then this, Zack is and always will be the MC for me, not cloud.
welcome back jack!!!!! winter 2022!!!
welcome back, hero
just started introduce myself in FF7
ended Crisis Core with full of tears, Zack doesn't deserve it
Way till you play rebirth mate I won’t spoil anything but I’ll say after the first ten mines I had to stop for half hour because I couldn’t deal with it lol
瞳の奥が ぼやけて見えない
心の底の 気持ちはあるの?
世界の全てを手にしたとしても
それがあなたの幸せなの?
Why 孤独な空を見上げるの?
Why 笑って見せてよ
言葉にするのが下手な
あなたの性格わかるから
遠い昔に何があったの?
視線をそらす あなたの瞳に
一人で寂しい夜に抱きしめられる
そんな温かさ知ってる?
Why どうして形にこだわるの?
Why 心を開いて
大きな荷物を背負った
あなたを受け入れられる力
あるわ 信じてみて・・・
自由な人は不器用で
自由な人は不安で
Why 孤独な空を見上げるの?
Why 笑って見せてよ
言葉にするのが下手な
あなたの性格わかるから
信じてみて
I love this song, it arouses so many emotions in me every time i hear it
If this isn't playing at my funeral. I'm not going......
I swear this is the most underrated song in the entire final fantasy series man...
Zack: "Would you say I became a hero?"
Me: Yes Zack... Yes you did. 🥺
