This can't be real... I'm absolutely lost in awe, this is shockingly beautiful I had weird experience with that album, I listen to it while I was asleep and dream I saw affected me pretty dramatically, so I never listen to it since. Today I got curious... Like this is... This sounds like heaven without any exaggeration
One of my favorite Bjork tracks from one of her best albums (alongside Homogenic). Mariah's compositions are sonically rich and layered with backing vocals .
@@Stan-to9wc Yes, Mariah is known for creating a “wall of sound” as influenced by Phil Spector’s music of the 1960s. Bjork’s Hidden Place (and other songs) remind me of this technique.
hearing some of the isolated parts really brought me to tears! Truly a profoundly beautiful song that really seems to celebrate the miracle and natural sequence of being attracted to someone!
Thank you so much for showing us your analysis. I am learning a lot from watching this!! It is very precious thing that we can get to know theoretical aspect of Bjork's music!! I didn't know she borrowed melody from Schoenberg's piece!! I really enjoy this again!!
Qué maldita preciosidad de canción. Hidden Place is my favorite song by Björk and I really was hope about finding a musical analysis and I think that It is the olny in all holy YT. Thank you, you're made a really amazing video.

The weird and truly unique thing about Björk is that she is full on intellectual and not at all emotional, that her music is extremely controlled and not at all organic, so it is really utterly devoid of emotion, and yet it is utterly moving.
I never though i found something like this! This is the kind of things production, i really like, wish i could learn things like these everyday thanks so much❤
Speaking of sampling "household itens", Matthew Herbert and duo Matmos who helped with Verspertine, do that a lot in their music. For example Matmos' song Breaking Bread. I recently got into Björk's music, and I'm realising how genius she is, and was even in the 90s. This sounds futuristic. The minute details are mind blowing. ✨

Maybe its intellectual in composition but her performance and singing style sound very emotional to me.
