Hey Mel,... I own a few unused vintage abu reels and I always use the proper tools when I'm going to tune my reels ,... I can't believe you just used channel locks on that chrome nut ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don't remember if they were standard equipment with my Abu reels or with my power handles. But I have a couple "tools" that consist of a box end wrench on one end and a flat blade screwdriver on the other.
